Such a great family run business with no pressure to buy anything but we had to anyway! We got so many freebies and lots of information about mining opal and the different types. Best opal shop on coober pedy

We came in here and were instantly greeted with such warmth and friendliness! The lady who runs the shop with her son was a wealth of knowledge and it was so interesting to hear all of her husband’s stories! The jewellery they sell is absolutely beautiful and high quality! If you were to pick any opal shop in Coober Pedy then make sure you come here, you will not be disappointed with the service or the products!

Could not recommend this place highly enough, if 10 stars was an option they would still deserve more.

This family run business go above and beyond to provide information and history on their shop and opals. It was a fantastic experience with no pressure to purchase. There was also something available for all budgets.

The lady who runs this place, was absolutely lovely and friendly. She told me all about the opals, she offered me a free stone for good luck and a free box of opal stones. I purchased a gorgeous charm for my bracelet and was offered a free kangaroo pin and photo to choose from. Would recommend having a look at this place.

You don't get customer service like this anymore!! Stella has so much love and pride in the town and its opals, and lovingly shares her family story with us. It's amazing that she can recall how long ago each opal was mined by her husband (may he rest in peace).
Bought a large specimen piece mined 36 years ago for my rock-collecting dad as a Father's Day present, which was carefully wrapped and packaged in view that he'll be taking it home to Singapore. But because I bought it without him, my dad got excited to see how it looked like and opened it in the car before we even left town!

(I don't want to take away from the above story because it was quite funny to see my dad as pleased as a kid on Christmas day, but yea, other awesome experiences of our earlier visit were being given a box of  souvenir raw opals each almost as soon as we wandered in, and being given extra freebies with our purchases including opalised fossils and keyrings.
Boyfriend bought a beautiful gem-quality stone for a very important piece of jewellery😆, and my mum bought a few jars of beautiful opal chips. My dad had refused my offer of buying him a raw specimen piece to add to his rock collection then. Hence, I had to sneak back 2 days later to buy him one!)

Great family-run opal shop. Highly recommend! They mine the opals and set them into jewelry which means they have some gorgeous settings rather than the mass-produced designs you'll see everywhere. Prices are fair and you'll also get some extra goodies including a picture of the mines. If you have giant fingers like me, they're also able to make rings larger for you, it was ready the next day. There was no pressure to buy, they provide truly excellent customer service to help you find the stone that suits what you're looking for best.

Incredible place with so much history, kindness and beautiful things. We could spend hours talking to lovely Stella and her family. What a gem place. This small but quaint family owned shop is worth a stop in Coober Pedy. Lyn, who is one of the owner, was more than helpful. She is very informative and really wants you to know what opal is and wants to help you to choose the best one for you.

The shop has a variety of opals that are definitely worth buying. You not only get your money's worth but also get to leave with a little bit of knowledge of what opal is and where it came from.

Thanks again Lyn for the opal earrings. My wife really liked it. My daughter loved the freebie as well.

The owners of the shop were really friendly and funny and informative. Had a really fun time there 😁 they were really helpful and you could tell they wanted to make sure you made the best purchase for you. Very informative on the types of opals and how they are priced. Enjoyed visiting the shop and bought a beautiful pendant! The designs for the pendants and rings were beautiful. I looked at a few shops after and came back to this one again because the designs and people were great. Fully recommend coming here if you’re looking to buy an opal!

Hands down the best Opal store in Coober Pedy. Make sure you stop in here. The family is so lovely. Friendly and welcoming, they love every visitor. They took the time to explain exactly what we were buying. Answered all our questions. Let myself and five kids look at things as many times as we wanted. Gave my husband a history book to look through so he was entertained too. Encouraged us to go away and think. There was zero pressure. Just amazing. Super grateful and a lovely shopping experience. What a stroke of luck choosing to go into Opalios from the many other Opal stores in town, we had a fantastic experience, George was funny and informative, the jewellery is beautiful, and the freebies added to the experience.

Stunning jewellery pieces to choose from and the staff were so friendly, helpful, and informative; happy to help us stay within our budget, came highly recommended from friends and family. Wow! I went into Opalios twice and both times left feeling wonderful. This family run business will make you want to pack up your things and move to Coober Pedy! I was looked after by a mother and daughter duo and you could feel the love and passion they have for opals, history and ensuring customers have a wonderful experience. While they are in the business of selling opal jewellery there is no pressure to buy. It felt like they prioritised sharing their love of opals and enriching the tourists experience by sharing stories about opal mining and life in Coober Pedy. They helped guide me to find the perfect opal that was within my budget, that suited my colouring, and a design I could wear everyday. They were also happy to have a chat. I felt so spoilt with all the little extra things they gifted me. It really was a wonderful experience! A must stop in Coober Pedy!
