Fabulous dining on the water.

We were ultra casual after a walk around Honeysuckle but we were served with professionalism at every turn.

I highly recommend the tempura prawns, they were delightful and the sweet and sticky dipping sauce was just as nice.

Highly recommend a visit and will definitely return on our next visit to Newcastle!

My Husband and I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary with an amazing lunch here. The food was superb and the service exceptional.

We had lunch there as a birthday celebration. It is a lovely restaurant set on the waters edge providing good harbour views. The food was good and the dessert of reconstructed pavlova was divine.

Oh my gosh, the seafood platter was so good. The best oysters I've ever had. The crayfish was a little dry, but the oysters made up for this. Yum! Really lovely, accommodating, and helpful service staff.

Just a lovely place to enjoy a special dinner. The food is good. You won’t be disappointed. Lovely views. Absolutely friendly obliging staff. Incredible wine list, great cocktails. The herbs salads fresh greens were delicious and fresh. We walked away in awe of the evening we just had experienced there, and days later we are still talking about it. We will return and we would recommend this restaurant to others.

If I was asked to provide a suggestion which would improve patron’s experience it would be to invest in nicer chairs. Those plastic chairs are uncomfortable and I think they look tacky. They look easy to clean and disinfect so maybe that’s their purpose.

Amazing staff service. Dining from an almost 270 degree view of the beautiful Hunter River overlooking massive container ships entering the harbour.
What more could you ask for.

The food was great and not overly expensive. Definitely need to book ahead of time. We came about an hour before lunch service was finishing up. Managed to score a great table.

Have a couple of nights in Newcastle. Enjoy a nice view. Good food here, especially nice service from the team.

We had a lovely lunch at Scratchleys yesterday. We chose the hot and cold seafood platter. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. There was a full lobster, crab, fish, calamari, prawns and oysters as well as heaps of fresh fruit. We couldn't finish it all so we took some home in a doggy bag. Obviously there was enough room for dessert which was lovely as well. Our waitress Anastasia was fantastic. She attended to our every need and nothing was too much trouble. She has a great sense of humour and really added to the experience. We hadn't been there for ages but we will make our visits more regular in the future.

It was a 36c day but you wouldn't believe it while sitting over the water at this restaurant. The entree of tempura prawns and zucchini flowers was eye wateringly wonderful and the mains were only getting better again. The viking steak was cooking perfection and the lamb was so tender in the mouth you almost floated away to Stockton. The combination of flavours in each meal was put together so well like Torvill and Dean it just danced on the tongue.
Thank you Scratchleys for your continued presence among the echelon of Top Restaurants in NSW. It was an experience we will remember.

My girlfriend took me here for dinner when I came up for a visit, I was not disappointed!The service,the food and the view were all amazing!My friend had the oysters which she said were very fresh and delicious. I had the char grilled octopus for entree,also very good.We shared mains which consisted of tempura prawns,seafood antipasta and scallops with truffle-all delicious!Will definitely be back when I visit again!

I attended my work Christmas party here last week and I was absolutely delighted with the amazing service. Our waiter took great care with my dietary needs making sure I could enjoy myself being vegetarian gluten free. Stuffed zucchini flowers were wonderful and they modified a curry for me for my main. Such a treat to have gluten free fries.

Absolutely fabulous lunch. Bella was our Waitress today and she was just fabulous she absolutely made our day from the time we got there until we left. The food was fantastic fresh and delicious 😋

Fabulous place to eat a stunning meal whilst watching the coal boats.

First time visit. Impressed by the many waterfront tables in this large airy restaurant , friendly service and great food .Many fish specials to choose from while watching the passing parade of boat traffic large and small. Good choice of beers and wines or cocktails.

My two good friends and work colleagues went here to dine for a birthday. The food was terrific. They were patient with us when we were late, wine glasses were kept topped up and the general atmosphere was warming. The food, was also delicious.

Beautiful food, the scenery is stunning . The staff r very professional n friendly. Would recommend going there especially for a special / date night. When your finished your meal u can walk out get a scoop of ice cream from their take away corner n take a beautiful walk along the warf.
