Smokin Hot 'n Saucy Barbecue - Newcastle

We really enjoyed our platter of meat! My favourite was the pulled pork while my husband loved the brisket.

Dish sizes are on par for the money you pay. Couldn't fault the flavors in the brisket, pork, or sausage! If I had to give a fault it would be for the Mac n cheese, but only because I prefer them baked. Service was polished, these folks have been doing this together for a while and it shows. Definitely worth a stop here folks. Would love to know if it's BYO, because only a cider or a rum and coke would make this experience any better :)

Been driving past here for a while now and finally decided to stop in whilst we were checking out the nearby op shops.

We couldn't believe how quiet it was during lunch, as the alluring smoke and smell tempted us from a good 200m away.
Once here we found that the place consisted of a shipping container and two trailers where the magic happened, all decorated in a rusted out tin-vintage style with the surrounding brickwork beautifully spraypainted in Texan BBQ imagery.

Within 5 minutes of ordering, my partner had her small mac & cheese with a side of expertly cooked beef brisket that melted in her mouth.
I was treated to the Carnivore Burger with the very same brisket, along with some juicy pork, and a layer of spicy sausage on the bottom.
Although I didn't get a beer, we saw advertisements for these and got the feeling it would be a blast to hit up on a Friday or Saturday night.

An absolute gem in Newcastle and well worth a visit from anyone out Islington/Hamilton way or strolling down Beaumont Street.

If I could award 6 stars, I would!!! Best brisket I've had in Australia. Served by true Texans in a relaxed and friendly environment. Well priced, good-sized servings, friendly service. I'll be coming back for sure.

Phwoooar! this place knows it’s meats! Dropped in for pulled pork burgers, mac and cheese and fries. Food was ready within a few minutes and WOW was it good! Juicy tender pulled pork; not chewy or rubbery - just perfectly cooked. Highly recommended!

Recently attended a masterclass at rutherford with these guys, what a great experience! Rob and Randi are truly nice people, very accommodating and know their stuff! Oh and the food along the way was top quality! thanks guys

Recently attended a Masterclass at the Rutherford location, which was a great experience, highly recommend for the bbq cooking enthusiast. I have eaten at multiple of their locations multiple times with great consistency all round, certainly a handy place to have as my local. Great bbq, great atmosphere and great service.

Wow, big tick ✔From us, had friends from Sydney, local Craft Brewhouse first then Texan BBQ. The food melted in our mouths, the tastes were a sensory thrill and the casualness was just what we wanted. Thanks

Great feed at the lot, and with a name like the lot I thought it was only fitting to have the biggest thing on the menu "the lot" ha! It came out with brisket, pulled pork, jalapeño cheese sausage, smoked chicken, mac and cheese and a side of onion rings with 4 condiment sauce, it's fair to say that it was that nice that I'll be back more than twice. Smokin hot n saucy for the win 🤙 if I could give more stars I would 👌

Authentic Texas barbecue. And I lived five years in Texas, so this is not an easy bar to clear for me. Meats piled high on bun until overflowing. Light amount of sauce put on by default but you can always ask for or add more. Very fresh ingredients bursting with flavor. They have a large trailer-mobile smoker that goes to big events such as the Offshore Superboats Championship round at Lake Macquarie. Whether you visit their permanent location or catch them on the road, I highly recommend them. Look for the Australian and Texan flags flying proudly from the smoker’s stacks.

Tried all the meats. Really good BBQ at a really reasonable price. The onion rings were top notch. Crispy and flavourful. The chicken was moist and tender. Sausages were delicious and the beef was also amazing too. It Had a nice smoke ring and was pink on the inside. Will definitely be back for more.

10/10 for the brisket burger and a nice selection of beers to choose from.

I went there for my birthday lunch, food was totally incredible. The meat was beyond words, totally awesome.

First of all I’d like to apologize for being too excited to eat my food, I forgot to take a picture. This place is great! They get 5-stars for the REAL fresh lemonade alone. I ordered the Big Tex and it was excellent - very tasty, meat was perfect. I wish this crew all the success as it’s nice to have something like this available in Newcastle. I’ll be back for sure!

What a little gem!!! Having lived in The States for 10yrs, I've missed good southern bbq and Smokin Hot n Saucy absolutely hit the spot.

Fantastic. Recommend the chicken and the brisket sandwiches. Also get the corn-on-the-cob. Also loved the home made lemonade. Great service. Definitely give this a go.
