Downtown Beirut - Lebanese/ Middle Eastern Restaurant Newcastle

Absolutely delicious! You get some really good food in very generous servings, definitely felt I got my money's worth. I had the Lonely Vegan (pictured) and it was scrumptious, lots of variety on the plate. The hummus and garlic toum just made the plate, one of the best hummus' I have had, smooth and creamy, full of flavour. Great location if you're taking the train, Hamilton station is within 50m. It is BYO alcohol though, so make sure to come prepared if you plan on drinking.

We had dinner here in the afternoon, the service was very good and the waiters were very friendly, since even though we changed our minds several times they did not give us any problems. The food was delicious, the combination plate came with a large quantity, what we liked the most was the hummus and the tabbouleh salad. We would like to return to try more meat there, but the little we tried was very good. We will repeat!

Downtown Beirut has been one of the best experiences of my life hands down. The food was astonishingly amazing and I would defiantly recommend it to anyone who is even the slightest bit hungry. As we progressed through our meal the waiter brought us more water without even asking which was so, so lovely. The chicken was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly as were the fries that we ordered as well. In all honesty I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area it's a lovely atmosphere and amazing food. If I could give more stars I would.

I had the Lamb Koftas. They were delicious.

I liked the big windows, and the wide doors open to the street. And the fact that it is located right near the hustle and bustle of the railway station. It added to the cosmopolitan feel of the experience.

Great experience here for the first time Sunday night greeted by some very lovely people Michael especially was wonderful guy. We had the $55 dollar banquet and not only was presented great but the food was awesome but rather large for 2 people go with the $45. Clean and inviting calm environment very attentive waiters and the food is something to experience great cafe dinning.

Great for an early light lunch and we had been wanting to try seeing the great reviews. We had 2 entres eggplant and ??. No pics as we just consumed too quickly. Coffee was so good too, we had a 2nd with a sweet treat. Will plan on heading back to try more and enjoy the coffee ☕

I am afraid to admit that I ordered bacon and eggs when I had the opportunity to order something more exotic. My friend allowed me to sample the falafel, and my immediate thought was an intention to make them mine on a future visit.
I am currently on a restricted diet, and I would be interested in a high protein meal without carbohydrates.

Superb flavours in all the meal. Good value too.

The perfect Lebanese food. I had a lone Arab and it was amazing perfect amount of food for a single person having a nite in. Food was hot fresh and delicious. 10/10 must eat here. I will be back again very soon.

First time trying this place and it did not disappoint! Delicious food and the service was excellent! Falafels were so fresh! I just wish the chips had more seasoning

One of the best places to serve Lebanese food. The people here are very friendly and polite. The food is near authentic with the chicken skewers being extremely juicy and delicious.

My favourite Lebanese takeaway restaurant. Went for early Saturday dinner, lots of families, casual vibe on a busy street corner, takeaways coming and going, note no alcoholic beverages sold. Menu recently updated as they don't offer the banquet options anymore. Staff were friendly and food delicious as always, lots of big flavours, an array of sauces and dips with punchy salad dressings. Mixed grill and a couple of sides is plenty for two people.

We had breakfast at Downtown Beirut when we were in Newcastle. The food was delicious and the serving was generous. We had to go back to try their lunch menu and it exceeded our expectations. The Jordanian Lamb Mansaf is highly recommended

top food, flavours bursting in your mouth! service was a bit slow tho and my credit card was rejected for no apparent reason, my provider says their card reader has outdated security protocol. that was embarrasing as i had meant to invite friends for a night out but didnt have enough cash on me and they had to front the bill in the end. still 5* coz we'd def come again as the food is outstanding

Food was amazing & incredibly priced. $40 for a very tasty share platter of the best Middle Eastern cuisine.
The two young ladies that served us were delightful & friendly.
Thanks for a wonderful night. We will be back.

This Authentic restaurant has left the best impressions! Friendly and welcoming hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation.. I have to say, we enjoyed every single bite of the meal.

Great food, fairly expensive. Think equivalent to Bocados banquets. The quality was excellent, would definitely want more... Probably from the takeaway menu which is more a la carte

Got here, early for lunch service. Everything was freshly cooked and delicious. The servers are very friendly and the food is exceptionally fresh. Can’t wait to come back already.

Transported me to Beirut!

Madaline and her amazing team know how to make anyone feel welcome. Greeted with friendly hospitality from all staff members. The restaurant is tugged away in one of Hamilton's busiest streets which you can't miss. My family and I had ordered two banquet style BBQ both valued at $55.00 per person (this can differ upon the menu). Some of my favourite dishes varying from Kafta skewers to hummus and endless amount of tabbouleh and flatbread. Each banquet also includes an amazing sweet treat at the end. This place is enriched with culture and is one of my new favourite restaurants in town. Thank you Downtown Beirut for going above and beyond.
