This cafe is under new management, and Kaan is the new manager. It’s a Toby Estate operation.
It’s a nice cafe made even better by the lovely staff. It makes a stay in hospital a much more pleasant event for the patient and visitors.
How do I work out my rating?
I rate on:-
Staff interaction,
Food cooked/freshness, temperature upon arrival, cleanliness,
Venue (not much control over this, as it’s a hospital building)
Space/air circulation/ingress-egress, outdoor seating options and outdoor service.
Convenience.
Don’t hesitate, the staff are very flexible and supportive.

Edmund makes the best coffee that I have tasted anywhere in the world --- even in Vienna's top coffee house. He is always friendly and helpful. The hot chips are also fantastic, the best you can get and the rest of the food is also very good and inexpensive.
Every friend that I have taken there raves about the coffee no matter who makes it. It is simply the best, not bitter and quite addictive.

A hidden surprise! The café has a modern industrial feel and it is surrounded by beautiful gardens. This is a fabulous stop for cyclists.

Nice cafe and the coffee was good, though to make a couple of coffees it took sometime.

I believe the cafe is very good. However, the only issue I had was with one of the staff members who looked like an Asian guy in his mid 40s and was extremely rude and disrespectful. He ignored in every single way he could. Also, he seem to be very welcoming to other people. Its that half hour that make us feel extremely insecure at the cafe.

Average cafe but one of the staff member who looks asian with a hat on who's name I don't know seemed rude for no reason. even though always responded with smile and politeness.

Advertised hours say Sunday 3pm close. Walked in at 2.20pm and the man round the back said they aren’t serving anymore. Update your hours. The man was also pretty rude and dismissive - reading the other reviews seems like a theme. I guess when you are the only cafe in a hospital you can do what you want because you have a guaranteed source of customers haha.

i had my nursing placement at LDH visited the cafe. The middle aged guy on the above pic was very rude at me even yelled at me. Charged me incorrectly when asked bluntly used to say "says who".His attitude was very biased he approached the staff in a friendly manner but used to be very rude towards the nursing students and even witnessed being rude to vulnerable patient. His negative attitude and bullying nature did made me sad . People like him shouldnt me working for hospital cafe who can't respect diversity ,compassion and ethics.
