Richardson's Bistro

We stayed at Freycinet Lodge for two nights and the first night we ate in Richardsons Bistro. The food is excellent and the service first class. The views from the bistro and the outside deck are beautiful.
The staff in the bistro are excellent and Marta deserves a special mention. She was very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for her. Good staff are hard to find but staff of Marta's standard are very rare. My wife had barramundi and I had the local mussels. Both were delicious. A very relaxed atmosphere with delicious food at a reasonable price.

We stopped for afternoon tea on a gorgeous afternoon. We had just done the Wineglass Bay Lookout hike & needed some refreshment. Although part of a mega resort, our experience was exceptional. The outdoor deck overlooking Coles Bay is a standout location.

Came here a few days after eating at the Bay Restaurant just next to it (food all comes out the same kitchen it seems).
Excellent food, great service and really easy to order pay and food comes out in a timely manner whilst seated in a relaxed environment!
Soup of the day was miso and pumpkin - excellent consistency, taste was good - nothing out of this world but also not bad in the slightest. Impressed by the beef salad! That was a delicious Vietnamese style salad! I could have almost eaten another one! And if you love a bit of sweet and sour the Rare Rose cocktail is a hit!!
Would recommend eating here! Even over the bay restaurant!!!

Great variety of food. Extremely tasty meals and excellent service. Each night, we were served by Jules. What amazing service by all, especially Jules.

Stayed in the Lodge for two nights and had dinner in the Bistro for the first night (heavy rain falling outside) the shared platters are great. Like tapas so you pick two or three - large portions of yummy food. Excellent value and taste. Then breakfast the next morning - WOW! So much great food.

Don’t know why this place doesn’t have a higher rating as the food was delicious! Went the noodles and they were fantastic with the vegetables cooked to perfection. The burger was delicious and was the size of a house, and the calamari was soft like butter. Couple with a fantastic view of the beach (you can sit outside or inside and both are fantastic) i highly recommend this place. Oh and the price was not expensive either!

Impeccable service and incredible food! Kamana, Shrijana and Jules were so lovely and warm, they went that extra mile and really showed how passionate they were about their workplace. Every part of our meal was phenomenal. The oysters were fresh and delicious, the garlic bread was gourmet, the steak and calamari were both cooked and seasoned to perfection and Jules's hot chocolates were the best we've had. But the standout by far has to be the dessert! I had the burnt cheesecake and my husband had strawberry icecream. Both were out of this world amazing, and even though we were beyond full, we finished every mouthful. 10/10 tell your friends!

We just stopped in for a morning coffee ☕ well worth the stop the views from there there a wonderful. They have lots of cabins here to stay at as well. This is a wonderful part of Tasmania

We had best breakfast experience here. Waiter was very accommodating. If weather good, we eat outside. Food was great.

Everything was great, the view was spectacular the food was great and the service outstanding! Perfect way to end a days hike! Family friendly and welcoming!

Absolutely delicious vegan starter of white bean hummous followed by scrumptious salads. A View to die for. Lots of choices for vegans and very friendly staff.

My first google review, but I felt it needed to be done! We had lunch as a family after doing the wineglass bay walk, and omg! The view from the bistro balcony was breathtaking, and we all shared starters (oysters, octopus and salmon rillettes) and the pumpkin main- and they nailed it!! I’ve had many oysters in my time and these stood out as some of the best I’ve ever had. My sisters had burgers, loved them and they were massive for the price.
Not sure why the google reviews are harsh!
I’d be back in a heartbeat.

Incredible place to site and forget about time. Inside it outside will five you an beautiful view of the ocean.
