Best hut on the OT hike, fortunately didn't see any of the King Rat. Great coal fireplace to actually dry clothes out.

Beautiful location. Make sure to store your food in the food locker inside the hut!

A nice little hut with a wood burner by lake st Clair. It's good also most the tourist's doing the over hyped over land track get the ferry so this hut does not get to busy.

What a magical place to stay while completing the Overland Track. The Echo Point Hut is old and rustic and has a lot of character or you can pitch a tent in the beautiful rainforest or on the beach to stay a night or two. A great place with crystal clear water and fantastic views of My Ida.

Such a lovely location which many people miss. It's worth a hike if you're not too exhausted! The Hut is basic but luxury on a cold day!

The best campsite on the Overland Track. Remeber to safely store your food for the hungry black rats...

We took the ferry to Echo point and walked back to the visitor centre. It’s 11.5km according to Apple Watch, longer than advertised. We saw snakes in two instances. Recommend to take the walk early in summer while it’s still cool and avoid walking during the hotter hours when snakes could be out and about. If you haven’t done so yet, chat to the people at the visitors centre regarding how to deal with encounters with snakes prior to attempting the walk.

Nice view, lucky catched aurora on Monday night. Flat camping site with toilet not far, did not try the hut as it seemed quite old.

Cosy hut with a coal fire place, handy in the winter as it gets a little chilly. Be prepared to pay hommage to the Rat King, if you're worthwhile he will leave you in peace, if not...
