A beautiful and wonderfully private setting on Lake St Clair. But the most beautiful part were the amazing people we met there. The staff were so welcoming on arrival and helpful at every stage especially Margeaux and Felipe. Special shout out Louis for the awesome travel tips on our way out. The communal dining was great as it allowed us to meet some really interesting people.
A bit of a whack to the hip pocket but it's a hell of an experience and they really look after you. Warm, toasty bread on call was a lovely surprise.

This is a beautiful location. The staff were friendly and responsive. The food was delicious and the larder pack provided was amazing. It was great to be able to enjoy the electric bikes and the row boats. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The only downside to the room was lack of ventilation. Would have liked to have been able to open a window to let fresh air into the room.
Thank you to all the friendly staff for an amazing experience.

Amazing! My new husband and I stayed at Pumphouse Point in The Retreat for our mini moon immediately after our wedding. The property is absolutely stunning, no matter the weather conditions. The staff, food and beverage offerings are generous, free flowing and really excellent in quality.

Highly recommend staying here for a little luxury R and R. Can’t wait to return!

We had an idyllic 3-night stay over Christmas and cannot wait to come back. The second floor pumphouse views are a dream to wake up to, and the tranquility of the child-free lake around the pumphouse is relaxing and romantic.
The stocked larder is perfect for picnics with the e-bikes or rowboats, and the Lake St Clair hiking trails are very close.
The meals were beautiful and while the communal dining is not for everyone, we were lucky to meet another couple we really liked and enjoyed having dinner with them each night.
Staff were exceptional and made the stay friendly and comfortable.
We highly recommend a visit!

Staying at Pumphouse was such a unique experience. What makes it so special is of course the location which is stunning but the staff are really up there - the service, kindness and genuine thought we received impressed us and made us feel very welcome.

Sure - communal dining is a little uncomfortable initially but actually in reality, it was lovely to meet some new people and we really enjoyed our evening conversation. There is plenty of time for "alone time" with your loved one without feeling like you are missing out at dinner.

Local walking, the e-bikes, sitting by the fire and admiring the view whilst drinking wine and enjoying the fabulous treats in your room - what's not to love!

Thank you Pumphouse Point Team

Absolutely loved Pumphouse Point. Had been on my bucket list for years after someone recommended it. Met all my expectations and more. The location is stunning and peaceful, the facilities and staff could not be faulted from the time we checked in to leaving.

Such a beautiful place to get lost in. Dinner is communal, so it is not total isolation. Meals are brilliant and options to fill your day are just what I was looking for.

We escaped for Christmas 3 nights. Was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we arrived until we left the staff were just so good at their job. We booked a room on the second floor for the floor to ceiling windows. Loved the stocked larder and we didn't manage to eat everything. Lots of honesty bars stacked full of favourite wines and spirits. Meet some wonderful people over dinner and the food was just delicious. What a magical place.

We’ve stayed at our fair share of unique accommodations but Pumphouse Point definitely sits in our top 3.
From the arrival to our departure, the staff looked after us with such attention. They got to know everyone’s names and spoke to us when they had time too which made it feel very personable. The room we stayed in was on the top floor of the Pumphouse with the bath, and it was so serene. The bed was really lux and probably the best sleep of our trip. The food was great! Breaky was a fully continental and dinners were a set meal that everyone got. We always got pre drinks before dinner which they kindly made mine non alcoholic as I am pregnant.
Would recommend this stay at least once in your life to experience.

What an experience! This was just what we needed. Luxury in a secluded location, no children (very quickly said goodbye to our 4 and ran out our front door) and the most welcoming hospitality team that I have ever met. We highly recommend the Retreat, it was such a warm, inviting environment and really encouraged the great 'unwind' from reality that we needed. We absolutely LOVED the shared dining experience, it was a great way to ensure we didn't get bored with each other, and the best way to meet new people and share life stories over great food and great wine. We like the unique check in method and had no complaints about the timings of it. Overall we could not be more satisfied and have zero complaints. Congratulations to the owners and their amazing staff on providing something so unique, relaxing, warm and inviting. We will be back.

Despite some rain, we had a lovely 2 night stay at Pumphouse point. Beautiful food, wonderful staff and incredible scenery.
If you’re an introvert come prepared with some conversations over the communal dinner!

Our room in the Shorehouse was also great!

We loved our stay at the Shore House - not the main building you see in the pictures which is the Pumphouse in the middle of the lake but the one at the shore and I actually prefer it because you don’t have to walk back to your room in the dark and coldness after dinner and the view from the shore includes the Pumphouse itself and the lake which I personally think is more beautiful.
They also upgraded our room without an additional charge.

The services, the room, the facility, the view and the food were all phenomenal. This is definitely the highlight of our trip in Tasmania. We will come back and stay longer next time!

Fascinating place. We had one of the bedrooms in the original pump house building out on the lake 100 yards from the shore on a concrete jetty.
Bedroom lovely with incredible views out over the water.
Bathroom / shower room a little quirky. Could do with improving the lack of interface between the shower and floor area by the sink / toiling.
Breakfast and dinner was original and delicious. Served at larger joint tables with other guests. Nicely organized. The fridge in room was beautifully stocked with lunch items and fresh bread was available every hour - made a delicious lunch.
Liked the Lake St Clair visitor center with its cafe/restaurant & hiking trails. We made use of the e-bikes to get there but unfortunately it took 4 attempts to find a working bike. Need to focus on instruction, adjust saddle height and then making sure the bike actually works ( 3 didn’t).
No Wi-Fi and limited data so be prepared. Some signal with Telstra I believe.

Unique accommodation with good warm service. Breakfast is buffet style, lunch is fresh bakery sourdough with the package food you have in the room, and dinner is three-course. Breakfast and dinner take place in a communal dining area where each table seats between three to four couples. You thus get the opportunity to mingle and talk about each other’s travel and life experiences. They have a backpack to take lunch to go so that you can make the most out of your day out and about exploring the National park. Hotel had e-bikes and row boats for guest’s use. It’s 60-80 minutes walk from the property to the visitors centre along the beach. Make sure you read what’s on their website prior to booking.

Wow, what a little slice of heaven. The location and service was 5 star. The rooms and beautiful windows allowed us to take in the view. We stayed in the shorehouse and so glad we did, close to the lounge area where meals are served. The staff were so attentive and friendly, massage was a wonderful way to end the trip. Meals were not you bad and honesty bar stocked with lots of options. Will definitely be back.

Definitely, a spot I cannot recommend enough! The pictures of Pumphouse Point drastically understated how stunning it is in real life.

As a wedding photographer, I was more than excited to take photos of the couple in this beautiful, intimate location, and I'm incredibly grateful that this place served us well.

With its charming cabin, peaceful lake, and dramatic forest landscape, Pumphouse Point is the perfect private, romantic getaway for couples.

I’m so pleased to say Pumphouse Point was everything we’d hoped and more. The location is superb, loved the eBikes, they made it so easy to get out to a range of activities. Food was great, but dinners were a standout. Generous, fresh, thoughtful dishes.
We stayed on the top level of the Pumphouse and waking up to that view was priceless.
If it’s warm enough, have a swim - it’s spectacular, we had a lovely 23 degree day and it was just so rejuvenating.

This was without a doubt the best accommodation I've stayed in. We stayed in the retreat - what an incredible experience. Beautiful amenities in a world-class location. Fully stocked larder (included) with unlimited warm sourdough delivered whenever requested. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Absolutely devastating to leave. I'd give 7 stars if I could.

We stayed here to celebrate our honeymoon and we had an absolutely amazing time. We were extremely well looked after. The communal dinners were delicious. The breakfast buffet was exemplary. The surrounding area is beautiful to explore and we were very lucky to experience snow during our stay. The rooms were super comfortable with great views and especially enjoyed the bathtub and large shower.

Thanks for being the highlight of our Tasmanian honeymoon. We still reference Pumphouse point as a place to return to in the future.
