The rooms were warm, clean and far more luxurious than I thought. The views and spot -awesome.
The food was fantastic in fact the burger was the best I had tasted for many years and the chefs specials for dinner was amazing. The manager and all the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Really great service.
I will definitely be back.

Excellent service from the manager and staff all the way from pick up on the ferry after a long few days in the overland trail all the way in to the bar and restaurant. The food was great and the bar was well stocked. Although some of the staff were new the manager paid attention to assisting his staff as well as meeting customer needs. The room was amazing with a gas fire and the kitchen and spa bath were well worth the price.

Lake St Clair Lodge is an amazing experience in such a beautiful location. We stayed in the private rooms (kind of like a little cabin). It was perfectly set up with a comfy bed, radiator, hot shower, mini fridge, kettle, etc. Everything you could ever want! The food in the lodge was very good and the service was great as well. Our key was waiting for us when we got in late and the staff member who was onsite even ended up helping us check in. We also booked a boat ride across the lake to do a hike and that was lovely as well. Can’t recommend enough!

Beautiful location,a real must see on a visit to Tasmania.Comfortable accomodation beside the lake, great bar and restaurant.Take the boat ride to enhance your views of the lake and surrounds,or go on one of the many walks and hikes.Talk to the knowledgeable and friendly staff in the visitor centre to check what would suit you best.Advice would be to book in advance, very popular.

All the people borking at the prices just zoom out on the map and realise where you are and your breakfast is included with a room! The fact you can have a place like this with power, water and heating in such a remote location deserves 5 stars on its own. Seriously people do not understand the logistics of such a setup. Food was great all made in house, no trucked in ice cream or mayonnaises just real wholesome food made from quality produce. Brownies are magnificent. Small menu which is expected in such a remote location with very seasonal levels of guests and 2.5hrs away from a major town for supplies. Great pale ale on tap. Thanks for the hospitality we had a great stay after finishing the overland track.

Popped in for some lunch on the way through and was very impressed by this beautiful wilderness Lodge in the woods. Such a lovely place to visit. Loads of history and it's so warm and welcoming!
We had some delicious soup, potato skins, hand cut chips and a veggie burger. Everything was pretty yummy, the burger was a little plain.

Beautiful surroundings and a short walk to the waters edge.

Read a lot of negative reviews so was unsure what I would find. The cabins were well presented with a very comfortable bed. The lack of wifi or phone service other than at the restaurant and reception for me is what you want when on a wilderness escape.
Went to dinner and couldn’t fault the food quality and in fact went back for more on our second night.
Had a pleasant chat with the owner Michael and found him and all the staff very pleasant. Don’t believe the bad reviews this is an idyllic location with magnificent bush walks.

The plan was to book at the Pump House on completion of the overland track- but to be frank, it was all a bit difficult and poncy – so I booked a 2 bedroom cabin, by the lake, at Lake St Clair Lodge. It proved to be a good decision - lovely views of the lake with a clean and well proportioned cabin. All the decent walks are straight from the cabin too. A quality evening meal at the lodge – they have a decent chef and very friendly and helpful staff. My only complaint was finding dollar coins for the external laundry.
We will be very happy to stay at Lake St Clair Lodge again

The staff definitely deserve 5stars review! They are so hard working, yet they always have smiles on their face and kindly help the guests spontaneously. The hotel has history but well maintained. Highly recommended!

We stayed at Lake St Clair Lodge this week and our experience was nothing but enjoyable. This is a beautiful spot. Our cabin was lovely and had everything we needed. The staff were helpful and friendly. It was very cold and snowing when we arrived and the staff had turned the heater on in our cabin for us in advance so that it was nice and warm. The food at the lodge restaurant where we went for dinner was lovely and the included breakfast was also great. We loved it and hope to be able to come back one day. Will be recommending to our friends.

Amazing views - chalets were beautiful and clean with lake side position. Close to walking tracks. Host made this stay memorable- try the Lodge beer and distilled gin and rum. So glad we didn't see previous comments and miss this experience. Don't expect your room to have a self contained kitchen so come prepared if you want to have a wine with cheese before dinner. Meals are honest, reasonably priced considering its remote location. Tales of the walks are shared with other guests at end of day. A wonderful Tassie experience with the Host and Lodge plays to the rustic beauty of St Claire lake.

I booked before reading the bad reviews. On arrival we were given a twin room not king bedded room, this was apparently allocated by Booking.com. Buyer beware. We upgraded to a one bedroom fireside cabin. The reception staff were helpful in organising this. Well worth the extra $$. More spacious and better position. The complementary buffet breakfast was good, as long as you can cope with unmasked types rifling through the bread basket. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were all helpful, room very clean and bed comfortable. Great area for walking.

When thinking of a place to spend a birthday this is on the list. Nature beauty surrounds this lodge inside the World Heritage National Park. At the edge of the wilderness you can relax in a quiet room with a view of the lake and dine in the restaurant with snow falling outside the window. This truely is my kind of place.

The staff have been amazing considering the limited number.

What an awesome place to stay, the chalets are fantastic and most with lake views. The food was great and if you like your gin you are in for a very pleasant surprise, the dark ale is also bloody awesome. The walks from the lodge are quite long and arduous but so worth it. The host is a hoot and looked after us famously, we will be back!

It was a big surprise to find an excellent bar and restaurant at a National Park camp ground. Michael was very helpful and friendly. We stayed in a powered site which had good facilities. There are also lots of cabins available though we didnt stay in these. Great location to explore the southern end of the national park. Great variety of walks available. Will be back!

Really loved our time here and we were very sad to leave.

Stunning location, we booked a cabin for 3 nights, cabin was lovely, really clean and felt modern with a really nice gas fireplace ( it was cold when we visited) Turing this on every evening after a days hiking was such a nice touch.

The lodge itself was great, whoever designed it did a great job, we could have sat in there for hours chilling having a drink or a bite to eat.
The the food wasn't the cheapest but to be fair the foods they use were organic and the end product was delicious so we had no complaints.

Shout out to Michael who I think owned the place, you couldn't ask for a better host, he couldn't do enough for my wife and I, we will definitely be returning here again and for longer next time as there was so many hiking trails and things to see but 3 nights just wasn't enough time.

Did the Mt Rufus and Little Hugel for two days. Coming back, we ate a the Overland Hamburger and a dark ale. Don’t know whether it was the intense hunger I had but they were so damn good.

The location is stunning, I stayed here a couple of years ago and its definitely been upgraded. The organic food was lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. We had a cabin with a large bed and modern facilities, warm heater and excellent view. Wildlife everywhere
