Just amazing …you’ll find this gem only 7 kms North (part of it, a dirt road) from Cape Tribulation. There's a walking track starting just to the left before the creek. A short walking distance, you’ll find a fork in the road. If you turn left, you’ll get to the swimming hole. There's a rope swing attached to the tree, which you can use to dive into the water. If you go right, you’ll get to an amazing area where you can swim at the left or just relax in the shallow part of the creek at the right side (it reminded me of the spa). Magical place.

Peaceful spot to swim in crystal clear water and enjoy the serenity of the Daintree. Yes, you will be sharing your experience with others ( including fish) but the 4 legged scally reptiles apparently don't have this spot on their visit list!

This is a great spot to swim. It has some really deep sections and shallow sections got plenty of rocks a swing fish. We felt safe here and met numerous people every day we went up. The water was clean the area was just fantastic it’s about a three minute walk from the road but very much worth it.

A wonderful place to cool off right in the middle of the Daintree.
One of, if not the only safe place to swim up here as per the locals recommendations.
The water is crystal clear and a beautiful temperature to enjoy a dip and the scenery is simply stunning, as you relax in the running creek.
The day we came here it was incredibly busy which is unfortunate but we didn't let it deter us.
When parking your car be mindful of the amount of room other vehicles need to pass by on the dirt road.
The creek is accessible by 2WD vehicles and is only a short stroll depending on whether you park your car at the top or bottom of the hill, but remember if you park at the bottom, the constant supply of tour bus operators require additional space to turn around as they too park right at the creeks edge.

Great swimming hole, we were lucky enough to practically get the whole place to ourselves the other day. We parked at the end of the road where the river crosses and walked up the path on the left side, continue to take the path to the right side and you will come to the swimming hole. It is an easy 10-15 minute walk, even with kids. The water is cool and clear, but gets deep towards the otherside, with easy access in and out. I do recommend sandals/thongs that you can wear into the water as it is all rocks, if you have sensitive feet.

Nice place to take a dip. Crocs shouldn't be around to bother you in this clear-watered steam. The road runs through it so don't play right in the roadway.

Wonderful secluded swimming spot in the Daintree that not many people seem to go to. We had it all to ourselves for a good 30 minutes in the middle of the day.

Make sure to take the left path before the dip where 4WD pass through and look for a tree with many roots. You won’t be disappointed!

This is a hidden gem. Not too far off the beaten track in the Daintree is Emmagen Creek. The locals tell us that it is really the only "croc-free" place to swim up that way and really, you aren't going to be disappointed. There was a short 15 minute walk from the dirt road (be careful parking your car - leave room for people to get past). The falls were a beautiful cool temperature and just perfect for a refreshing daintree swim.

Start for the Bloomfield Tack and path towards a bathing spot. You will recognise it from the rope.

Beautiful place to cool off for a swim (at your own risk!) There are Achtung signs, however lot's of people swim there and I was recommended to my by a local.
This is the last point on the road that you can get to without a 4wd...

I recommend taking it slow for the 5 or so Kms approaching as there are some large ruts and washouts on the road that are hard to spot until the last second. Would be easy to loose a front spoiler, or worse!

Emmagen Creek Daintree National Park is an awesome spot to stop and relax, get a little relief from the intense humid tropics. There's a small shallow pool and also a water hole up the creek a ways next to a large fig tree.

Crossing from 2wd to 4wd here. A track to the left leads to a beautiful little swimming hole. Crystal clear water.

A gorgeous - and apparently croc-free - swimming spot! Leave your car in the carpark and walk down the trail for approximately 800m to get to the swimming area. Absolutely stunning!

This place is amazing. The Daintree National park has so many places to stop and visit on your journey. We took a trip accross the Daintree river it starts with a ferry ride (which you can take your car on) then brove to the Bloomfield track. Stoping at many beaches and the cafes at Cape Tribulation.
Highly recommend the journey and a cold beer in the cafe along the way. Some steep hills so make sure you car is serviced and a proper 4xr

For some reason Google calls this Emerald, but the true name is Emmagen. We stopped here and spotted an endangered cassowary across the river. It was really incredible. There is also a nice little rope swing you can swing on into the creek. Fun experience in the middle of the jungle

Beautiful, peaceful & a great place for a quick swim. No Crocs here so it's quite safe to swim. Water temp is moderate & clear.

Lovely clear stream. Plenty of people were swimming while cars were fording the water to the road on the other side.

Beautiful and clear water. Heaps of little fish swimming around. Had it to ourselves. Last chance for 2wd.

Great place to stop and have a little bite to eat and explore whilst you’re travelling through the Daintree rainforest

Emmagen Creek has my favourite water hole in the Daintree. Don't walk right next to the creek, but find the track that starts about ten meters south of the riverbank. Follow it until you find the big tree with the large root-network and the rope swing. Especially beautiful when the sun comes in in the middle of the day. Then the water turns golden and glitters and it's so stunning. And all the fish. They come close to the edge, probably because people are feeding them, always a bad idea, actually, but they are so nice to watch!
