Rumbalara Bed & Breakfast

Stayed here recently in the Sunflower room. Loved that it had a fireplace, and full catering facilities. The hosts were delightful, and the breakfast was delicious. Get greeted in the morning by the wildlife. So peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Didn't even know anyone else was staying in the other guest rooms. Games rooms for kids.

If you want to experience peace and relaxation in the natural beauty of a rain forest, this is the place to stay. It is amazing, I have travelled around the world and there is no place like this. It is unique. I just loved sitting out on the verandah eating a delicious home cooked breakfast and seeing all the different Australian birds flying around and feeding from the bird feeders. The King Parrots were so colourful and being able to see the wild life such as a Possum, Bush Turkeys and a Goanna right up close is an experience in itself. Denise and Alan are wonderful hosts and extremely helpful and accommodating. It is situated not far from the Gold Coast with all its attractions. I will return to experience again the peace and tranquility of this idyllic place. Thank you Denise and Alan for making my stay so enjoyable.

Great value for money, not madly modern but very homely and cosy, everything you need for a good night sleep, comfortable bed. Love the beige, autumn and yellow bathroom decor, such a nice change from white on white. Spotlessly clean. Great verandah for early coffee or a glass of wine. Beautiful surrounds and not a car to be heard. Would stay again.

Absolutely loved our visit. Denise was so gracious, checking us in at midnight. The 2 bedroom S/C unit was spacious, well kept, welcoming with a fireplace and like a step back in time. The furnishings I loved. Down to the bookcase full of books and magazines. So much to explore outside as it is surrounded by rain forrest. But Beware... Close doors or "Bush Turkeys" will join you for breakfast. Very friendly though, one escorted me on my hike up the hill and back lol. I would highly recommend "Rumbalara" for a place to getaway. Also only 10 minutes to Nerang.

This is "GOD OWN RESORT" as the creator has permitted the Guests to enjoy Nature and the birds to spend time with them and so on and on.... . My sister came from Florida for my 60th B'day 3 years ago and still talk about the time spent at the place where the 🌈RAINBOW TOUCH THE EARTH🏕 . It's one in life time ... to go places .......

We (family of 5) stayed in the flat for 1 night and we wish we could have stayed longer! Beautiful location, friendly and helpful host, comfortable beds and a very cosy living room - what more could you ask for. Highly recommended.

Good B&B for exploring the hinterland of the Gold Coast

S28°1'46.050" E153°15'48.74" Located near Nerang QLD, Advancetown is an excellent starting point for exploring Springbrook, Lamington, Wollumbin and Border Ranges National Parks by car. If you start early, you can reach Lillian Rock to do the Tweed Range Scenic Drive. One of the best scenic drives in the country.

Rumbalara B&B is in the middle of the woods, but our car navigation found the gate. You go steeply downhill and then steeply uphill to the house. Being in the middle of the forest, you need a car to go for diner. The dining options nearby are mediocre. Slightly better dining options are in Nerang, a 15 minutes’ drive.

Rumbalara B&B has four rooms and a two-bedroom apartment. Up to 14 people can sleep at this B&B. Our twin room in September 2018 had a large bathroom with bath and shower and a separate toilet. The room has intermittent Wi-Fi (the hosts have gone to great lengths to have better reception and greater bandwidth in the woods), LCD television, new split air conditioner, microwave and fridge. The twin room had a sliding door to the garden. The beds slept comfortable, although they were a little too short for us.

Alan & Denise are friendly hosts with personal attention and always available for advice and help. Alan loves to have a chat in the morning before breakfast. Denise prepares the breakfast from the chosen options the day before. It is a good breakfast.

We made contact by e-mail and avoided the fees of online travel agencies. We paid AU$130 per night in September 2018.

Rumbalara B&B is an excellent starting point for exploring the hinterland national parks of the Gold Coast by car. Denise & Alan are very fine hosts. Recommended.
