George Banks Rooftop Bar & Bistro

Last Friday night, we celebrated a birthday here with a group of 14 girls, and the service provided by the two male bartenders was exceptional! The chilli margaritas were the best I have had. We also tried different cocktail jugs, they were all really good.
The share platters were also great, we had a few different hot and cold platters. Even the veggie options were delicious, the beetroot arancini balls were so good.
Can’t wait to come back

5/5, I was excited to see what a rooftop bar in Toowoomba was like. Highly recommended.
From entry to exit, fantastic.
Arrived at 5.30 pm with no booking, they were not busy for a Friday night. However, this changed by the time I left about an hour later, but there were still a few tables free.
I ordered a cocktail. I found it strange that the bartender had never heard of a cocktail I order regularly, but isn't youth a wonderful thing lol. I did try a Bikini Martini, which was citrusy and fresh. I also ordered a Jack Sparrow, something old, with a new name. Still delicious, though.
I cannot recommend their Korean chicken bites enough! So good!
I'm sorry I didn't get the name of one of your wonderful staff, a young lady with short hair and dark glasses, who gave me directions to a convenience store across the road when I left. She also checked on me during my meal. Not sure what role she has there, but seemed to cover every base. Fantastic asset to your business 👏
Price wise, they are a little pricier on some items, but I was told by staff at Shamrock hotel, they have amazing food, and they weren't wrong. Worth the money 💰

Great reasonably sized rooftop bar with ample seating, air-flow, high quality food and down to earth staff.
FOOD: A few vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. Ordered all three grazing boards (unusual to get such a broad selection) and was impressed by the high quality meats served on them.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: My meal was either forgotten about or understaffing led to me needing to go up and remind them, as it didn't arrive. All in all, it was a 110% experience... We all get busy, I have no issue with the odd mistake. Their response was above and beyond lovely, coming up to check on how happy I was with the meal twice after I did receive it. Thank you. It made the difference.
STAFF: The bar staff were great.
Overall would recommend, I think how one fixes up a mistake is often the sign of a good restaurant. A friend ordered vegan gnocchi and it was not vegan, again, they promptly made her another.
AMBIENCE: Modern, fresh, a little tropical with old style class.
Would recommend and go back again.

The rooftop bar and restaurant are stylishly decorated, with a great vibe. Staff were friendly and the barman made a delicious French Martini. Great place for drinks or dinner.

Visited with my partner for her birthday on Wednesday night and we were both very impressed with the food but especially the service received from Jason he was engaging and added to the night, would recommend and will be back

Wonderful dinner and great (very quick!) service. We found George's through the entertainment book and Google reviews and went here for a special occasion dinner.

We started with the deconstructed bruschetta which was fabulous (the pistachio encrusted goats cheese was incredible!) Then all ordered steaks as our main. The steaks were extremely tender, the salad was very tasty and the chips were great. The owner Phil was friendly and extremely attentive and made great recommendations on drinks to pair with our meals.

Overall we had a lovely time and will be back next time we visit Toowoomba.

Great location, food was fantastic, the Charcuterie board was really tasty and well presented. Loved the camembert and honey and the pork belly!! Staff are exceptional, young and well trained, polite, friendly and attentive without being intrusive. A special thankyou to Roxie who was an absolute delight, well done you!! you made our night!!! Wow. All I can say is WOW!

George Banks restaurant and bar is the only genuine rooftop bar in Toowoomba. The presentation is absolutely immaculate and the service is white table silver spoon spec.

I was alone and thus unable to see whether or not they do synchronised serving however from what I have experienced thus far this establishment is nothing less than full five star.

What's more, there's a generously well-stocked bar. This is the best public drinks and dining spot in Toowoomba City by far.

Compliments to the Coory family (the owners) - you've done a stellar job with this location!

Food was to die for, myself &my husband firstly had the triple cheese aracini balls, then I had the king prawn risotto and my husband had the pumpkin and sage gnocchi I am Sicilian decent so I know Italian food and this was as good if not better than my nonna made. Compliments to the chef.

Elegantly appointed with a well-stocked bar, this rooftop bar bistro is sure to impress no matter the occasion.

Our group all enjoyed their meals as well as the attentive service we received.

In warmer months the roof opens up too!

I’ve been several times for just drinks, but only tried their food last night for their special Valentines menu. Despite being a very busy evening, the front of house staff were polite and responded quickly to any request. The food plated beautifully and tasted wonderful! I had the second best steak in my life (best that I’ve had in Australia). Their special valentines cocktails for the evening were divine. We will definitely be back!!

My colleagues and I thoroughly enjoyed the food at your restaurant. Your culinary staff cooked delicious food and inveigled everyone’s taste.

The staff was polite and keen to look after our requirements. The service offered was intriguing and beyond our expectations. The soothing and pleasant atmosphere made the event unique and engaging.

Amazing experience, atmosphere and service. The food was excellent, the staff was lovely and accommodating and the environment is electrifying. I was there for a special event and have a bad allergy, and without needing to the kitchen prepared me a special platter of canipes to ensure I didn't miss out and could enjoy my evening. True excellent customer service. I can't wait to go back.

Had a birthday lunch here while up from Brisbane and I must say Toowoomba doesn't have to many good places, but this place was Great The service was great and the drinks were good so well done and we will definitely be back

Perfect lunch date location with a great view! - We were not just greeted but welcomed personally as soon as we walked in the door. Seated and had our drinks within 5 minutes.

I was spoiled for choice with heaps of gluten free options to choose from. This venue looks to be completely accessible for wheelchair users with a lift and toilets.

It's a little more expensive but it's worth it, and you absolutely get what you pay for. Perfect wedding venue. Street parking available.

The charcuterie shared plate was more than enough for 4 or 5. Great mocktails too!

What a great place, We loved the atmosphere, and the food was great. We will definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.

My friends and I popped in after a pretty disastrous experience at a local steakhouse. The service was refreshing, cocktails faultless, and, wow, was the dessert delicious. I will be back for a bistro experience. This little venue packs a punch and made out night.
