An excellent Club for improving confidence and public speaking skills. I used to feel sick at even the thought of public speaking but I have improved a lot since joining Berowra Toastmaster's Club. I've found this Club very friendly & welcoming. They are keenly aware of how nervous most people are about standing up in front of others. I've witnessed many incredibly caring and supportive actions. Interestingly, members stay even when their skills improve so they can give back by helping others. I feel energised after each fortnightly Club meeting. It has helped a lot in my work and socially and so I highly recommend it. If you dread public speaking, this is the place to go.

Since joining Berowra Toastmasters I can always confidently express my opinion regardless of whom I am with. I have learnt how to quickly gather your thoughts and convey them in a sequential & interesting way. I’ve made new friends who always encourage and mentor me to improve my presentations. I highly recommend that you come along to a meeting and see you for yourself how amazing Public Speaking can be!

I Joined Berowra Toastmasters just over a year ago and can't speak highly enough of the wonderful and welcoming people I have met. Public speaking is a challenge for most of us but with the amazing support from all the members of this club, I have grown in confidence which has helped in both my personal and work life. Now meeting on Zoom until we get through this pandemic I couldn't think of a better club to visit online and see what it is all about.

The format at Berowra Toastmasters Club is relaxed and fun and the members are very supportive. Not only will you will be entertained with interesting and thought-provoking speeches but you will develop or improve your communication skills. This most certainly will benefit you in other areas of your life.

I was lucky enough to be introduced to this club 15 years ago. The members are friendly and nuturing, your speeches are evaluated in a supportive and positive environment as they should be at a Toastmaster's club.
Twice a month we have meetings and they are so much fun, filled with laughter and good company. Our club suppers are legendary among other clubs in the area.
Want to learn how to improve your speaking or leadership skills visit our club where you will have fun learning, all level of speaker welcome.
Have visited many other clubs in our area and district but come back home.
See you soon Jackie

I've been part of Berowra Toastmasters for almost 5 years and I have to say the club really helped me come out of my shell. Everyone is very friendly and it is a great non-judgemental and supportive environment. I've become more vocal in my university classes thanks to toastmasters and learnt very useful public speaking and also great life skills.

7 years ago, before I joined the club, I was famous in my team for giving a terrible departmental update in public. A year ago, I was praised for giving the best speech ever in the department (and it was a much larger audience, too). Thanks to Berowra Toastmasters and its incredible members, I found my voice.

I went to this club as a guest one night and stayed for 7 years! Along the way I went from a very nervous public speaker to someone who actually looked forward to giving presentations at work. I ended up serving as club president and won an area speech contest too. Highly recommend this club. Friendly supportive members and a great relaxed attitude, with legendary supper breaks - just remember to bring some cheese. I hope to re-join in 2018.

This is a very friendly and supportive club, I have been a member for 4 years now and have become a lot more confident as a public speaker. This has helped me greatly in job interviews and has given me other opportunities I would have otherwise been to insecure to pursue.

Berowra Toasties is almost 1000 meetings old.. I have been a member for 12 years.. it took 50 years to face my public speaking demons but the support and comradeship has given me the confidence to not only speak in public but to lead with purpose

Great club - warm and friendly. Looked at 2 other clubs in the area and chose Berowra. Great decision.

This club is good if you are already a confident speaker and just want to improve your public speaking skills for work, However no allowances are made for people are shy and perhaps not so confident in their public speaking ability and just want a safe place to practice. It just seemed to be about showcasing the talents of the more experienced speakers. The club didn't seem to be catering for all of the members, just an elite few.

You are encouraged to develop one particular style of speaking, rather than acknowledge each person as an individual and have different strengths which can be developed to be good speakers in many different ways.

Some members of the club were quite rude for example interrupting me while giving a speech. When I spoke out about it I was told it was all my fault for being too sensitive. Interrupting someone when they are speaking I would have thought it would be something that wouldn't be allowed anyway.

The club is not a friendly environment at all which is not what Toastmasters is supposed to be about. It was years before I regained my confidence to speak in public thanks to this club.
