Terrace on Darby

Discovered this new little Gem of a restaurant and decided to give it a go. Well what wasn't to like ,no Love about this place! The atmosphere is elegant with mood lighting and quiet background music so that no one was yelling above each other. The upstairs pre dinner drinks on the balcony were lovely just look at that Sunset! Nick the owner was very warm and welcoming and Crystal the waitress was sweet and attentive. She helped me choose from the menu with recommendations that suited me. We so enjoyed our experience here we brought back friends for another dinner! The food is exceptional and reasonably priced. Overall we will be back to enjoy this lovely little restaurant on Darby Street.

Nick has returned to re-ignite his passion for great cuisine and dining experience. Beautifully refurbished, relaxing ambience and exciting menu. Attentive service and customer enjoyment is Nick’s focus. So happy to see this passion returning to Cooks Hill. A must visit reco from me!!

Simple menu, great home made food, funky decor, warm service.
I took ook my sister and nephew here recently and we had the best time! Nick looked after us like family and the food was delicious. Colourful salad and gluten-free calamari - yum! Cosy "fire", great bar.

Wandered past Terrace on Darby late last night and decided to pop in for dinner tonight before heading home. The owner Nick delivered Michelin star level service, the food was perfect and we're mentally making room for dessert.

A great restaurant is not easy to find, we will be back with family and friends in tow. Bravo 👏

Without a shadow of a doubt, the most fantastic place I have eaten after 5 years in Newcastle.
The story of Terrace is beautiful and Nic was unbelievably wonderful to us.
Atmosphere was sensational, the food was completely off the charts. Fresh ingredients and incredible presentation but in terms of quality I’ve never had better.
Very competitively priced but there is no competition. Terrace has quickly become my favourite place to eat and I’m excitedly anticipating my return.

We have dined here several times from a table for 2 to a group of 12 & highly recommend it for any occasion.
The service is impeccable, owner `Nick` & his staff are always friendly, professional & engaging.
The food is amazing with generous portions cooked to perfection plus great deserts & an excellent selection of quality wines.
The balcony overlooking Darby Street is a great meeting place for pre & post dinner drinks.

Fabulous value and absolutely delicious! Served cold during pandemic lockdown but was easily reheated and can possibly be split into 2 meals! Also great if you want to buy early in the day and have later. A very thoughtful solution during a tough time for all!

I had the parmigiana special with cheesecake for dessert, it was the best I've ever had!!! Loved it how the chef came out and greeted his guests, so homely and comfortable with great service.

Love, love, loved our experience here on Friday night just gone. The wait staff where very accommodating to our dietary requirments, friendly and just all round amazing at there job with beautiful smiles all night. The food and wine was absoultly delicious, fresh and well priced. The boss of this establishment should be very proud it's a beautiful spot.

Just had a fantastic family meal at The Terrace. Great food, a really good menu and very well priced. The service was absolutely first rate! The pastichio was very homestyle. Check it out. Well worth a visit.

Fantastic, you're sitting outside watching the crowd go by and soaking up the wonderful wines on offer. My first stop in Newcastle everytime I'm here.

Excellent service and food, your drinks are topped up without asking! Great ambience and range of options. The vegetarian dish was delicious.

If you enjoy fresh cooked food, I think it's the best and tastiest food at a reasonable price on Darby Street. And in addition the drinks are also reasonably priced.
