Gatehouse Lodge, Inneston

Great basic accommodation for a family getaway.
All basics are provided. Kitchen is reasonably well fitted out. Fridge, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and basic collection of cookware and crockery.
There is a water filter tap for drinking water.
There is also a fire pit onsite so if outside the fire ban season (May-Oct), bring some fuel.
Lots of lovely walking trails straight from the door or a short drive away.
Be aware that mobile reception is sketchy at best. Zero in the cottage itself. This is both a plus and a negative depending on who you ask!!!

We had a lovely long weekend and would happily return.

Fantastic budget accommodation in the heart of Innes National Park, Gatehouse Lodge offers most of the amenities that you need for your stay including a new kitchen and bathroom. Bring your own food and drinks, bedding, linen and towels and you'll be set for a great getaway with the family.

Comfortable house to base yourself to visit all the sites in innes national park. The negative was the poor state of kitchen utensils ie fry pans etc.

The accomodation was in a bad shape. I understand that this is an old building and there is a special vibe around that. However, it could have gone through some renovation and cleaning so that visitors could enjoy their stay. It was quite creepy in the living area with black leather coaches and black picture on the wall. The same applies to the master bedroom. Windows were cleaned many years ago. Mosquito net on the windows is detached and doesn’t serve its purpose. I am not sure where 5 star reviews are coming from. I like some vibe of old times, but cleaning and maintaining the lodges is a separate story.
I hope this review will trigger renovations of the place
