After a bad experience at a close by childcare.
Yeronga Child Care restored all our faith in the industry!

The educators are amazing. They are all so caring and loving. The energy from all the staff is great. You can tell they all love what they do.

The educators are also consistent, so you see the same faces each day, which is so important for children at such a young age.

They made our daughters transition to a new school so easy and really made an effort to make her feel safe and comfortable.

Can not recommend the centre enough to anyone in the area looking for a fun, safe enviroment for their children.

Thank you to all the staff and management!!

We have had a wonderful experience at YCDC. Ms Ira Range works tirelessly to give the best possible experience to the families there, and the staff continually present varied and interesting programs for the children. I love the multicultural program on offer and my child learning about other cultures and celebrations. The educators have shown much care and love to my son, and the other children. Ms Ira is very open to parent feedback and involvement, and I also appreciate the efforts towards sustainability such as the community book library, compost, and teaching the children about the environment. I would highly recommend YCDC.

This is a wonderful and caring kindy to send your children too! 6 years in total for us with both kids and still going! The staff are so good with the kids and I get to see the fun they have everyday through storypark which is wonderful! I would highly recommend this child care centre as we have had no complaints. The owner, Maria and the director, Ira are both very friendly, helpful and accommodating. So pleased we ended up here!! Clare and Michael

YCDC has provided my family with an amazing service – caring, honest, friendly, educational, supportive and all round brilliant. So much so that we are a return customer!
A few years ago I attended with my first daughter and the staff were lovely, the food healthy and the grounds neatly kept. During our time we got to know more staff, we got to volunteer and engage with the group my daughter was in and they were all so accepting of my daughter, me and my whole family. They provided culture, opportunities to learn day to day skills that she would have learned if at home and also how to play and engage with other children. It was clear that each child there was valued and respected. I was happily impressed.
At the end of last year our family returned! At first I was anxious leaving my 1 yo there. With Covid around we have had limited contact with other kids and parents and even more limited exposure to large areas let alone separation from each other! I was concerned about health and safety and really wanted to make sure that my daughter and my family would not be put in a predicament that could impact in any way shape or form our ability to spend time with our aged family members. What I saw was great. There were signs all around about health and COVID, children were being taught healthy coughing / sneezing habits, staff and visitors were encouraged to think about the community and make honest decisions on attendance if unwell. General practices were up to date with the government guidelines. I was impressed.
So we started our attendance. I wanted a slow introduction to the centre for my daughter so over a period of time I was able to stay in the room and participate, then stay and watch from a distance, then stay in the centre and listen to how things went. Finally when I was ready to leave my daughter there I was guaranteed they would call me if there were any issues – and true to their word they did. When my daughter was inconsolable I got a call and came to pick her up – this showed me and my daughter that she was the focus and her health and wellbeing was what was most important to the staff and centre. Following this I even called a few times over a few weeks just to check in! The updates were brilliant! Whoever I spoke to was able to let me know sleep times, foods eaten, play activities – even if there were any really sad moments and how they were worked through. Now I get daily updates via a program they have so I feel not only confident in the care my daughter is getting but I get to be involved and help her reflect on her day in our evening as well. It didn’t take long at all for me to see that the service was honest reliable consistent and VERY good at communicating – these are things I value immensely when leaving my daughter in the care of ANYONE else.
On a practical note I’ve seen staff do safety checks – measuring temperatures outside, checking foods, checking fridges etc. I’ve seen them provide love and care as well as boundaries and rules. I’ve seen the managers make sure that all staff are up to date with the latest educations, training and practices.
If you are wanting community spirit, culture, education, care, love, safety and an environment that encourages curiosity and individual development for our children and local families then this is definitely a day care centre to go and check out.

Excellent child care centre from babies to preschool. High quality care with a stable staff who are very caring and consistent and well looked after by the great management. Happy children kept engaged through various planned learning activities and through stable routines. Top rate facilities which are well maintained and frequently replenished. Communication with parents is excellent and many lovely extra events run by the centre such as parents days, grandparents days, Halloween, Easter and so on to build a nice community.

I reached out to my neighbourhood FB community page and the YCDC was often recommended. I went for a walk-through and wasn't overly impressed. The environment was loud (poor layout design); the rooms were bland and lacking in stimulation (toys packed away, outdated decor); the staff didn't look excited to be at work - some lacking in engagement. However, I remained hopeful that I would be proven wrong and it was so conveniently located...so I enrolled my 2.5yr old. We went for a play and stay...same feeling as my initial walk-through, and I added more to my "not-sure-I-made-the-right-choice" basket (largely, they turned on a TV show whilst dishing up morning tea, rather than an educator engaging with the children to discuss their morning play or singing songs to help create a fun and inviting atmosphere). When I dropped my daughter off for her first day, everyone was outside (in the very dated playground...time to get some new equipment?). As we got closer to the outside area, the crying and chaos became louder and my daughter clenched my leg tighter. With an obvious lack of supervision (I work in the industry and I know the correct ratios...despite the owner later emailing me to tell me they were correct, I asked her then why weren't the staff in the playground with the children where they are meant to be - no response); I finally located the director who was comforting a child. I too wanted to comfort the several crying children I walked past to get to her...but refrained. I asked the Director where all the staff were - she rattled off a story about the amount of staff who had called in sick and the agency was yet to send casuals. I informed her that I wouldn't be leaving my daughter as there was a lack of supervision, so it was unsafe. Both the director and lead educator of my daughter's room insisted she stay (despite me saying that it would be unsafe). I later posted on the Yeronga community FB page and asked for local childcare recommendations. I was shocked by the amount of people in the community who responded saying to NOT send my child to YCDC and shared their absolute horror stories with me. From placing sleeping children in unsafe areas that resulted in gardening tools falling on their head; to arriving early to see their child (and others) watching a TV show whereby dinosaurs were killing each other - ripping flesh of each other - to often being concerned about the level and quality of supervision...I was disappointed that I didn't listed to my initial gut feeling. I don't doubt that some families have great experiences at YCDC, but the more I learn about it, the more I am so glad that I didn't leave my daughter there in their "care".
