Uncle Mings

Very special bar with super tasty japanese inspired drinks and a big variety of different Cocktails etc. We Loved it here and even if we did not try the food it looked delicious. Highly recommend coming to Uncle mings in the Center of Sydney.

Amazing atmosphere

I absolutely love it here. I have been twice, once with a friend, another with my boyfriend. Both times the food, the atmosphere, and the service has been exceptional. It is the perfect hidden bar for a couple of drinks and some delicious food. It can be quite difficult to find, however there is signage, and once you know where it is, it is easy to find again. I definitely recommend the ‘Shanghai Roller’ if you love an extravagant cocktail. I particularly love ‘Uncles Island Punch” and ‘Harajuku Juice Bar’. The chicken and mushroom dumplings are also lovely. Thank you for always giving me a great and fun night out!

Fantastic little hidden bar. If you don’t know it’s there you’d think you’re walking into a suit shop before you part the Asian curtains and enter the dim red realm that is Uncle Ming’s. Dumplings and edamame are fantastic and the ‘Flames Shanghai Roller’ is definitely a cocktail for the ‘gram… very impressive.

What an awesome hidden Asian style bar with warm red light ambiance. Excellent and fast service. The front of house staff are superb!! This place has it all and it’s reasonably priced. The tempura prawns were cooked beautifully. Cocktails were great too - we tried the Midnight Mariachi and Sunday Szech.
Will be back !!

Love love love uncle Ming, one of those cozy underground bar that transfer you to Japan, with their red lights and cool cocktails and drink, let’s not forget the dumpling they were delicious, didn’t take pics but they are a must and the sipping sauce wow just yum. Been here so many times and I keep on coming back!! Love it

Great underground spot with great vibes, food and drink. We ordered a couple of the different dumplings and were happy with all of them. Scallop and Prawn probably was my pick of the bunch. For the drinks we ordered the Spiced Rum & Fresh Apple and the Moshi Moshi (Bubble Tea for Adults). Service is great aswell as all the staff are friendly. Shoutout to Olivia who took care of us that night.

Amazing dumplings and great drinks. Decent sake and beer selection with some great cocktails (highly recommend the Sunday Szech). The whiskey list is extensive. Excellent service and great atmosphere round it all off.

I love everything about this pub- food, drinks, their service. It is red light ambient.
Definitely different from others out there. Tried their dessert for first time and loved it.
They are open for lunch now. Would love to try next time when I am around

My Favourite Bar at Sydney.

We arrived for dinner as walk-in guests as we couldn’t book a table prior. We were able to be seated straight away.

We had a mixture of dumplings that were all delicious, they all tasted very fresh. The prawn ones were the favourites.

Had the Bruce Lee cocktail to share, came out in a cute tea pot and cups to serve. This was nice as well.

Great decor and vibe. Good service on a busy Friday night.

I love the atmosphere here and the cocktails are so nice. We were going supposed to move to another bar but we decided to stay because of the experiences that we were having. The red underground lights were my favorite.
They even teach you Chinese in the bathroom with a pre recorded class audio. 😂

Came for friend’s birthday party. Very unique and cool vibes it’s definitely great place for casual occasion to special occasion for drink!
We ordered some dumplings there were so delicious! All cocktails were magnificent especially Shanghai Roller was amazing include fire performance :) Highly recommended!

Great food and a fantastic selection of drinks!

Love the ambience. It's moody - dark, with lots of reds. The dumplings are nice (love the vegie ones) and that sesame sauce! They also serve edamame.

Update: One of my favourite places to come for a drink. Always really moody and dark. They do dumplings, cocktails and teapots too.

Wait to be seated. 2 hours sitting time unless ur a good paying customer. Asian Beers from $10. Dumplings & prawn tempura were nice. Nice laid back city bar. Nice staff. Good security guy.

Came here for lunch and drinks. Good selection of dumplings and nibbles. The cocktails are tasty. Fresh as a daisy is my favourite. They’ve got strange sauces for the dumplings. I love the decor of the place. They also play mandarin lessons in the bathroom so you might learn a new word or two in the bathroom when doing your business.

Absolutely love love this place! You just can’t go wrong here. Staff you are all amazing and accommodating thank you! Food is delicious and I downed 3 dirty martini’s, so good!

The only seats I’ve sat at here were at the bar; I once opined about it being the venue for my first (and last) ever Tinder date in Sydney; an evening that began with a bang, but didn’t end with one. Enough said.

Boasting Chuck, Jean & Bruce on the fridge doors this Eastern-inspired dumpling denizen is a delight in a city full of pretentious hair-bun hipster small bars. Where they steer towards fluff and nonce, Ming’s veers towards finesse and nuance.

I’d steer away from the pre-envisioned cocktails and go for something made off-menu, or just sip on one of the amazing taiwanese or japanese whiskies, and enjoy the blazing red ambience.
