The Other Place @ Rutherglen

Driving from Sydney to Melbourne and stopped in Rutherglen for the night. We had the pleasure of eating breakfast with "Coxy's" suggestions & conversation. Highly recommend 👍👍👍👍👍

Welcomed at the gate with pet in hand. Coxy was very accomodating, friendly and genuine. LOVED the whole experience- what a great way to start the day with a fabulous breakfast experience.

We are caravanning around Australia and visited Rutherglen for the day. After a walk up and down the charming main street, we were ready for morning tea and The Other Place looked very inviting. I'm quite fussy with my iced-coffees and my request was met with a smile. We both thoroughly enjoyed our coffees and loved the melting moments. All perfect in a delightful environment. Thank you.

We were part of a group of 70ish who arrived for breakfast on the 3/12/23 following a wedding the night before. The team did a great job meeting everyones needs. Coffees and breakfasts were great. A mob of this size arriving at the same time could have been a problem but as above there were only happy faces. It will certainly be top of our list for breakfast the next time we are in Rutherglen. Great job all round.

This is our favourite place in Rutherglen for breakfast. Coxy is very welcoming and we love the banter. Coffee and food is excellent. Staff are also great. Won't go anywhere else when in Rutherglen.

What a treat to stop for coffee at The Other Place. Coxy and team serve up great coffee and deliciousness in a cozy corner of Rutherglen. Heading back for brunch tomorrow 😋

You've probably come for the vineyards but The Other Place is certainly one of Rutherglen's treasures not to be missed.

The staff are amazing and the owner makes everyone feel welcome. The court yard is so welcoming and lively even on a cooler Autumn morning.

I enjoyed lunch (Steak Sandwich) so much on Saturday that I came back for breakfast on Sunday (Eggs Benedict). The coffee must be the best in town and believe me I am fussy about my coffee.

This is the only Other Place you need to think about in Rutherglen!

Ordered a bacon and egg roll with a coffee and both were fantastic. Very friendly staff, great prices. A nice Cafe that I'll be going back to again.

Such a pleasure to visit after hearing a lot about this place! We arrived on a very busy Sunday morning and were impressed with a delicious brunch, the best coffee served by attentive and friendly staff. Highly recommend if visiting Rutherglen A++++++

Great food, great coffee with options for dairy free milk, friendly staff and my favourite strong green tea. Atmosphere and location is another bonus. Outdoor and indoor areas and they also have a toilet 👍🏼😉😀💞

Having read the negative reviews, I felt the need to share my experience.

My phone call to book a large group at short notice was welcomed. By the time we got there this number blew out however it was not an issue.

Customer service was warm, welcoming and friendly. We shared a joke or two.

Bowls of coffee are something I’ve never seen before but they were amazing. Sometimes a mug doesn’t cut it, especially on a Sunday morning.

Food arrived quickly, and it was magnificent. I did not hear any complaints and the price point is about right for the quality you receive.

The only thing I would suggest is that with large groups the name be taken with each order to save confusion at service, especially after we’d all had a big night.

The coffee here is expertly made, high quality and certainly worth a detour. There is a beautiful courtyard to enjoy a delicious breakfast (eggs benedict are excellent) served with a smile.

Had a lovely lunch at TOP whilst in Rutherglen. Lovely atmosphere and great courtyard. My husband loved his steak sandwich, he said it was one of the best he’s had in ages and it melted in his mouth.
My lunch was delicious and my coffee was spot on.

Ran in to get a late breakfast to go. I loved the interior, cosy and welcoming. The staff were fantastic, big smiles. My husband got egg and bacon rolls and commented that they were fantastic, not dry, great flavour. I had a wrap and was very pleased. Both of us grabbed coffee, again beautifully made. Thank you for a great start to our long weekend.

Excellent customer service and great menu ... the desert's and cake's are a must try.

We were recommended to go to this place for breakfast and it did not disappoint. Good coffee and our breakfast choices were delicious - The Coxy special was thoroughly enjoyed by my Husband and I enjoyed the Eggs Benedict option 2, naughty but nice.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. This place is also dog friendly (Lovely courtyard) and has a Blackboard to amuse children.
