The food was very good. (Order sides, though). The waitress (owner was lovely). Be preferable if the young man serving plates washed his hands after the toilet, though. We would return.

We've been here a few times now and happy to go again. 35 minutes from Yarrawonga and worth the drive. Great food, fantastic service, and a lovely setting.

If you're looking for beautiful regional food, great local wines, exceptional service & gorgeous welcoming atmosphere, the Pickled Sisters is the place for you!
Nestled in the heart of the beautiful & historic township of Rutherglen, Pickled Sisters is a must do cafe, offering amazing lunches & dinners.
The friendly and knowledgeable staff, are such lovely people & you'll feel immediately at ease with the beautifully decorated courtyard.
I'd highly recommend their extensive cocktail range, and from experience, organising a surprise birthday cake is well worth it, soooo yummy!

What an absolute treat! The food was delicious, the service was friendly and swift.
It was really tough to choose what to eat but it was clear there were no bad choices - only wish we were dining with more guests so we could have sampled more dishes.
I forgot to photograph the dessert - but the lemon myrtle ricotta donuts were a sensational end to our feast along with an excellent array of tea options!
There are lots of lovely spots to visit in Rutherglen but we were so happy we chose The Pickled Sister.
The staff were very kind to us dining with our bub in the pram. Many thanks to Sara and her charming son for making a rare chance to dine as new parents so enjoyable!

Stunning location in the heart of historic Rutherglen. Pickled Siters has long held an enviable reputation for quality local produce and fantastic local wines.
Now located in the main street in Rutherglen, close to other local boutique shops.
Food is sensational & staff are super friendly

I was very glad to have eaten at The Pickled Sisters with my partner during a recent visit for a wedding. Delicious fresh ingredients prepared really well, reasonably priced. Friendly and efficient service and a lovely environment. Looking forward to the next visit.

What an unassuming, unexpected delight! None of our party had visited Pickled Sisters before, but hopefully we will return. The antipasto platter was outstanding - generously sized with an extensive array of yummy ingredients. Our mains were delicious - the beef fillet was beautifully cooked, with delicious accompaniments - but I couldn't finish it, as I had partaken of the starter! Value for money, fabulous service, great atmosphere! Well done - you deserve all the positive reviews you receive!

We celebrated my husband's birthday at Pickled Sister. We had the figs (scrumptious) and a chicken terrine (yummo) and shared chocolate cake wicked but wonderful. Great atmosphere.

We absolutely love this restaurant. The food is always good, the service is so friendly and inviting. They also host wonderful cooking classes that are such fun and you're able to make friends along the way. Awesome.

A favourite place for dinner or lunch! The food is amazing. You could pick anything from the seasonally changing menu and not go wrong. They know flavours and pairing wines. Friendly staff who will give you great advice on what to choose if you can't decide. Highly recommend choosing a dessert with your meal here!
Lovely cosy warm ambience that will make you linger. Can't wait to visit again!

What a gorgeous little stop on our Rutherglen day trip! We stopped to take pics in front of the sign after wine tasting with my sister and the owner was outside. She over heard our disappointment as we realised they were closed and we were in desperate need of coffee. The gorgeous woman showed us the utmost grace in offering to go in and make coffees for us. Having said that, it was a stunning little restaurant and the coffee was not only greatly appreciated but very good. Add the pickled sisters to your Rutherglen itinerary!! From one 'not so pickled sister' to another.

Very nice menu and extensive wine list. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of seating inside and in the courtyard.
Nice in the warmer months but a bit chilly in winter owing to the stripped back interior.

A late review following our visit in July when we were staying in our friends holiday home in Chiltern. Went for lunch. Sat inside and wasn’t sure what to expect, really unique decor and cafeteria style tables, a weird mix. The food was top end restaurant quality at a lower price. Service the best I’ve received anywhere. Time has passed so I can’t remember the full menu but I had Venison with a mini mushroom pie and my wife had duck. Washed down with some nice wine. This food would not be out of place in any major city but I assume the family want to stay local. Well done.

We had mixed feelings about trying this place, as it was very busy and the prices were on the higher side. Happily, we were blown away by the quality of the food - everything we tried was an absolute winner, and the beer and wine lists have some great local gems. The courtyard area is beautifully lit at night. It was quite busy and loud with Christmas get-togethers, but the service ran smoothly. We’d absolutely return! Would love to see a few more vegetarian options, particularly a share plate.

We booked dinner for a Saturday evening in mid June. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and shown to our table in the outside enclosed seating area. This area felt so intimate, and charming. The availability to partake in some competitive board games while waiting for our food was a fun addition. The decor in our seating area had such a cool vibe to it.
We really loved this area. The wait staff were super friendly and attentive. Our meals arrived quickly and did not disappoint in presentation or taste.
My partner had the barramundi, cooked to perfection while I chose the wild mushroom risotto with grated blue cheese. Both were delicious. Do not go pass the dumplings with warmed chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream, this was the perfect ending to our meal. If there was anything to mention regarding our experience it would be perhaps to reduce the frequency of visits to our table from the wait staff. Overall we would not hesitate to dine here again or recommend The Pickled Sisters Cafe to others.

Had a great visit to the Pickled Sisters. We had booked for lunch on the basis that they were serving baked sardines which my partner loves. The menu was so interesting but as we only wanted something light we had the winery platter as well. The whole cafe has a lovely ambience - I am sure the courtyard would be my favourite spot in summer. We will definitely go back next time we are in the area.

We were a large group and the service was excellent. I have always enjoyed the Pickled Sisters food and was not disappointed this time. I had the duck and it was delicious, moist and tender, my only complaint there wasn't enough!! but in reality it was the perfect size for lunch. Everyone of our group enjoyed their meal. Thanks Marion and your staff for making our visit once again enjoyable.
