Dr Gayatri Banerjee

I can't sing the praises of Doctor Banerjee and her practice highly enough. She is a highly skilled, efficient, caring surgeon who has left me with vision that is actually better than 20/20! The work she has done to remove cataracts from both of my eyes has exceeded my expectations. I still find it delightful and astonishing to see the world in
what is essentially high definition. The team she has at the practice - from the friendly secretaries at the desk to the courteous and very efficient assisting staff - put me at ease and also deserves praise. It must also be said that doctors like Doctor Banerjee who are generous and compassionate enough to devote some of their time and effort to offer their services through the public Medicare system (which doesn't reimburse doctors enough for their work, in my opinion) are heroes. I had to wait a while - mostly due to Covid delays affecting the hospital - but I couldn't have had the surgery otherwise, and it was well worth the wait. If you need cataracts removed, I would not go anywhere else.

My husband had cataract surgery on both eyes with Dr Banerjee with excellent results ending up with 20/20+2. Highly recommend this practice, all the staff are proficient and the eye surgery was easy.

I have been a patient of Dr Banerjee for a a few years as I have been disgnosed with glaucoma. More recently Dr Banerjee has operated on me for cataract surgeries in both eyes.
I have been wearing spectacles for over 50 years, and now I can see both far and close (computer screen distance) without glasses. It has been such an amazing feeling!

When I was told by my Optometrist that I needed to have cataracts replaced in both eyes a good friend highly recommended Dr Banerjee at Nepean Valley Eye Surgeons & I'm so glad I took my friend's advice.
I was made to feel at ease from the moment I entered the practice, beginning with the wonderful ladies at Reception, the optometrists who performed the many tests & by the ever smiling Dr Banerjee herself. I was amazed how everyone clearly explained the various steps that were happening which completely settled my nerves.
I was very surprised by the complete lack of pain when Dr Banerjee performed each surgery but the biggest surprise of all was when I removed the eye shield the day after the first operation & saw what a beautiful, colourful, crystal-clear world we are living in. It's now a couple of months later & my world is still just as beautiful.

I wish to give my heartfelt thanks to Dr Banerjee and her entire team at Nepean Valley Eye Surgeons for their wonderful skill and support during the process when I needed to have cataracts removed from both of my eyes. The operations were carried out locally at the new Somerset Private hospital in Penrith. My eyesight had severely deteriorated especially during the 6 months prior to surgery. I was taken back by how much detail and colour that I could now see, as well as once again being able to drive at night. I am so grateful. I therefore want to highly recommend Dr Banerjee to anyone who might be experiencing difficulties with their vision.

EXCEPTIONAL RESULTS FROM CATARACT SURGERY
I have worn glasses for myopia since I was 10, I’m now 63. Cataracts demanded I needed surgery. My optometrist and GP both referred me to Dr Banerjee. Dr Banerjee spent much time giving me all my options and listening to my concerns, never felt rushed. Extremely professional and skilled, my surgery has been a huge success, well beyond my expectations. Clear, sharp vision without glasses! Dr Banerjee’s team were very helpful and encouraging. Team at Epping Eye Surgery were fantastic. Sedation and pain relief from the anaesthetist made the surgery a breeze. The whole process was seamless and comfortable. I have to pinch myself that it’s not a dream and I see so well. Thank you Dr Banerjee and your team, exceptional.

Very professional with the highest standards of work. By this I mean all staff. Dr. Banerjee is exceptionally good and she has removed cataracts from both of my eyes. I was told what to expect in the operations and the care required after it. All went to plan and despite being told that I should expect to need reading glasses I find I don't need glasses of any kind. I strongly recommend Dr Banerjee to anyone that requires eye surgery.

Getting my cataracts removed by Dr Banerjee has been an amazing experience. Being able to see colours and objects so clearly is a miracle. I could not recommend Dr Banerjee and her team more highly. Their experience and skills make for an outstanding result.

I cannot speak high enough of Dr. Banerjee. I would thoroughly recommend Dr Banerjee for any cataract and lense surgery. I was recommended by another patient of Dr Banerjee’s, and after meeting Dr Banerjee I had total confidence for the surgery. The surgery went well and at any stage when I was concerned after the surgery Dr. Banerjee and her staff put my concerns to rest. I now do not need to put on glasses when I wake up after 50odd years and that feels fantastic. I can also drive of a night which I have not been able to do for quite some years.
To me, for any operation on your eyes Dr. Banerjee is No. 1.

At 47 years old, I've never thought I would have a cataract. Dr Banerjee explained to me clearly why this is (I have diabetes). I have my heart set on a particular premium IOL. However, Dr. Banerjee discussed with me in detail the activities that I do day-to-day, what my job entails, and what I want to do in the future. She has suggested another IOL to suit my needs. Nevertheless, the one she chose was the perfect one!
I've never had surgery before and this was the first. It was pain-free and I was very well looked after by her clinic from start to finish. Even future appointments were organised perfectly and all of their medical technicians have explained to me clearly each step and what to expect.

I was referred to Dr Banerjee by my GP, as I was interested in investigating the possibility of correcting my extreme myopia. At the age of 59 - and having relied on spectacles for 53 years - I felt considerable trepidation about the prospect of lens replacement (even though the presence of cataracts made the decision more straightforward) but Dr Banerjee took the time to explain what would be involved and to put my mind at rest; she genuinely inspired confidence and was able to explain likely outcomes and and any possible post-operative issues, frankly and clearly. The entire team at Nepean Valley Eye Surgeons - from the reception staff, to the technicians who carried out the testing, to the staff at the Parramatta Eye Hospital - seem to function like a highly disciplined and well-oiled machine. I was so impressed by everything from first consultation to final check-up. I am absolutely delighted with the result of the lens replacement procedures which, in themselves, were quick and, with sedation, completely comfortable. For the first time in my life, I can read, drive, swim, walk, cycle and work on a screen without the aid of spectacles. I could not recommend Dr Banerjee more highly.

I can’t thank Dr Banerjee enough for giving me back a precious memory I have of my father when I was 10 yrs old. I got my first pair of glasses then and all the way home I kept pointing things out to dad that I’d never seen clearly before.
