Shoe was ok but staff was not very knowledgeable which made the experience frustrating when visiting one of their stores. I walk in to the shop with not much knowledge of street wear shoes and I walk out disappointed that I was more knowledgeable than the staff.

I bought some school shoes from here a month ago and kept it in storage (black leather vans) and they gave me 2 different shoes that look so different and I just realised now one has black soles as well as the bottom of the shoe, the other has a brown bottom and a tan sole, I can't describe the other enormous differences, they look like different type of shoes, but I can provide some pics. Can't even return it and I look embarrassing!! WISH I COULD SWAP

Had a very unpleasant experience about a shoe purchase from Platypus today. I ordered a CATERPILLAR eColorado Boot online Order Number PlatAU00307XXXX size 43EU. I found this a size bigger so first went to the Swanston Street (Melbourne) store on 26/9/2023 to exchange only to find that they do not stock Caterpillars. They checked their stock and told me that there is only 1 shoe remaining at Platypus Essendon for size 42EU. She was kind enough to call the Essendon store to keep that pair aside for me for one day. Essendon is approximately 60 kms from my place so today morning (27/9/2023) around 10:30 I again called the Essendon store to confirm whether they have the size 42EU. Some female confirmed that they have it and I told them I would be there by noon for an exchange. As I am working today I requested my daughter to drive all the way to Essendon only to find out that they DO NOT have size 42EU! They have 44EU!! How bizarre! When asked why did they confirm over the phone, they simply shrugged their shoulders saving there was a communication gap! How convenient of them to let go without taking responsibilities.

They did refund me the money but I am furious that they wasted so much time of my daughter and mine.

Extremely poor customer service service.

To start off me and my family were deeply disappointed in the customer service of such a well known store. I was looking for Dr.Martens for myself and couldn't find the right size, so I had to order them online which at first didn't seem to be a problem. We got that done and walked out of the store happy with our purchase. Later, we stopped by another shop that sold the same shoes (Dr. Martens 1461 smooth) at a more reasonable price so, naturally we wanted to cancel the the deal and order the ones from there. We went back to platypus and told them our story, they first agreed and said it can be sorted if the order hadn't been "processed", now firstly orders aren't processed for shipment on a Sunday. Secondly it had only been 15-20 since we left the store so how was the processing even lodged ? So anyways, it was very irresponsible and immature of them to cause such a hassle for us over a trifling problem. It was truly disgusting how much time they wasted but overall there are much better stores for you to explore and purchase your goods with a pleasing and comfortable costumer service. They have the worst quality of shoes and other products. I went here 2 times, everytime I got bad quality goods. I will never recommend this store to anyone. The staff was helpless and never considered my case. I want to rate them 0 STARS.
