Quiet place with excellent food and great portions. Pulled pork croquette was my fav. Had the tasting plate and thoroughly enjoyed every side. Mystery tap beer was phenomenal.

Great service as well. Will be back.

So Authentic, I thought I was back in Möenchengladbach, the tasting platter was deliciously Deutsch and really good quality. The nostalgia of a few German beers was fantastic, Love this place, highly recommend 🍻

I've seen a lot of posts from the German Club about their weekly and monthly deals in the Zum Kaiser restaurant, especially on facebook. I had been toying with the idea for around 12 months to go and try their monthly special $20 pork knuckle. Well, I'm sad to say that I waited 12 months too long!!

I love pork knuckle. I had eaten it in Sydney, and also another place in Brisbane, but to this day, the best I've had has been at Zum Kaiser. Absolutely delicious! You have to book a table in advance, that's no problem at all as you can easily do this all online. Then, all you have to do is turn up at the time you've booked. If you haven't been to the German Club before, you'll be required to pay for a $5 membership if you live within 15kms of the reataurant. Too easy! $5 for a 1 year membership is great value, which you won't have to pay for again on any future visits. You do have to queue up to place your order at the restaurant counter, which is off to the right of the bar as you walk in from the main entrance. I had to wait in line for around 20 minutes to place my order, a little long, but I did book a table at 12:30pm which is the busiest time for lunch.

I ordered, took my seat and waited another 20 minutes for the food, which was brought to my table. The pork knuckle looked delicious and tasted every bit as amazing as I had anticipated it would! The meat was tender, and not under done or tough. The crackling was crispy and not overly salty. The small roast potatos and sauerkraut complimented the pork knuckle perfectly. But the one thing that sets this dish on fire is the smoked beer gravy. I've never in my life had gravy as good as this! I was a little worried that the portion size would be too big to be able to finish it, but to my delight I was able to put it all away without a prob. I didn't try any entrée beforehand, like the pretzels you see at the counter. Nor did I try any beer...which you'd all probably think is strange being in a German restaurant (I'll be trying that on my 2nd visit) haha! I didn't want to fill myself up with other food or drink. No, for my first visit I specifically went there to try the pork knuckle, and only that. It was the perfect tactic, because I was able to eat everything and not be over filled.

The atmosphere of the German Club is wonderfully warm and friendly. I could hear people singing karaoke in main hall. Many families with children were there and the place was alive with activity and people enjoying themselves. It is a truly enjoyable environment. I will definitely be dining here on a regular basis. How could I not go back? $20 for this type of lunch is value too good to resist.

The German club in Brisbane has a lot of delicious traditional German food. The size as well as the price of the meal is good. They have a great variety of German beer. Big and smaller brewery’s. There is sometimes live music and a group of German regulars.

Great atmosphere, well priced meals and the second best schweinshaxe I've ever eaten. Does book up quickly so best to reserve a table. Most extensive range of beer I've seen in SEQ. Speedy and efficient service.

Easily one of the best authentic German restaurants I've been to. Excellent food. Huge portions. Great range of imported beers and a cosy German theme throughout. A must for anyone visiting near the Gabba.

Lovely place! Feels really chill and the environment is friendly. Food, dessert and drinks are amazing but a bit expensive however, still worth it! Plus the live music adds to the atmosphere well! It is also a family friendly place.

You do have to become the member to get in, but it’s only $5 for annual membership.

Giant portions and very reasonably prices! There was a bit of a wait time for the food but it was well worth the wait.

Staff very helpful on entry Sat 21 Nov 2020. Arrived relatively early which was great to beat the queues. We hired a taxi there and back - will do that again for sure. The atmosphere is very lay back and busy. Staff achieve so much in a relaxed manner. The food on arrival is a wow factor. Enormous sizes. We tried the pretzels too. O-M-G you could eat them forever. The premises are somewhat tired, and it would have been nice to have a little entertainment on a Saturday night. But honestly, you go there fore the food and company. Everything about the food was so moist and delicious. Loved it. A great place to go and just have a good time. Highly recommend. We will be back

Meet some friends here for lunch who travelled down from the sunshine coast. They recommended we try here if we liked German food. Heaps of German beers available. The only negative if any was the place could do with a freshen up but the food certainly makes up for it.If you enjoy German food this club is certainly the place to go for a German experience. Went for dinner with family & we all ordered different meals and they were all large and fabulous. We went on a Wednesday night so this was Trivia night hence the place was humming. Would like to go again for Friday night live music. Definitely good German food and plenty of German beers to choose from.

This is as good as it gets for authentic German food and atmosphere. On a Friday and Saturday night they open the doors to the beer hall and provide festive music and dancing, including some modern classics remixed in German style. The food is awesome, the Pork Knuckle and the Pork Belly are the best I have had. The beers are cheap and plentiful and they do takeaways too!

The German Club’s restaurant has a great menu with something to suit everyone. The venue’s traditional German food is great, specifically their signature dish of pork knuckle. Their classic meals are tasty too - I really enjoy the steaks they offer, and their meal sizes are absolutely huge... great value and great restaurant!

A Brisbane institution that must be protected at all costs. If you live in Brisbane and you've not been to the German club, then you clearly haven't lived. Unashamedly German. Beer list for days. Hearty food. Pretzels are a must. Interior is kitsch in a good way. Service is friendly. Fun for everyone.

After living in Germany for a few years and missing the food tremendously, we were ecstatic to find Zum Kaiser. Best in Brisbane hands down. Massive portions and excellent bier choices. You wont be disappointed.

Food was great, I ate too much but that's my fault. Staff are helpful and pleasant. I will go back with more people to attempt the pork knuckle.
