Hemingway's Brewery Cairns Wharf

This is our first time visiting Hemingway's. We were able to reserve a table with a great view.

We ordered at the bar, and we each enjoyed our meals. Brisket nachos, calamari, and fish & chips. All three were delicious.

I ordered the Pitchfork Betty and liked it enough to order a second.

The atmosphere is great. Lots of pool tables and dart boards for folks to relax and have a beverage.

The staff were warm and friendly. Service with a smile. Our food arrives about 10 to 15 minutes after ordering.

The facility was clean as a pin, well ventilated for fresh air, and enjoyable.

5 stars from me. I would return for another go at Hemingway's.

I couldn’t recommend this place more!!! Stunning views, a nice and open layout, a beer for everyone, and great food. They are a little pricey but hey, these days what isn’t? The special they had for brisket mac and cheese was so good that we got two. Staff is quick with orders and friendly. Great location, great vibes, great music… why isn’t this place rated higher?? I could definitely spend a few hours here with my mates. Cheers!

This is a really nice spot to grab a few drinks with friends or even a date. Saw some kids as well.
They have a great variety of drinks (beers and even heard whiskey) regular classic ones and more exotic ones. I recommend asking for a sampler so you can try them all. We asked for pizza and it was absolutely amazing! It had artichoke and chorizo, also some chicken wings (spicy ones) they weren’t lying at all, those are fire. Great experience, the music was nice too.

Great location in the waterfront in Cairns. Love the old building, renovated but still rustic and so light and open. Beer was good, food was absolutely sensational! (nice to see many vego options that weren’t boring!).
Staff were all friendly and service was great, our visit exceeded expectations. Thank you! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Can't argue with the food or the beers. I tried the beer platters both the award winners and choose your own. Trust the advice from staff, totally worth it. Being by the water with great tunes, a must when in Cairns.

We only had a drink, which were great but lots of people were having dinner and looked great. A very spacious brewery, would definitely come back again.

Awesome place for a drink or meal. Decent food menu with all the classics, the fish and chips was a great size and nice fish. Cassava chips were really nice too. Great selection of beers and awesome location for a walk afterwards.

Beautiful location overlooking the Trinity Inlet. Amazing great tasting food along with a numerous beers on tap. Ended up trying a Fitzroy Island Ice Tea in a Jug which gave us about 4 small cups worth. First time I've ever seen a cocktail in the form of a premixed on tap. They advised they mix big barrels at a time and then add the lemonade etc when bought. Great idea to save time.

Overall the price was decent with no issues with anything!

Great view, really large space, right on the water.

We ordered a paddle/beer flight. This was a great way to sample more beers since I only had tried the tropical ale. We went Sunday afternoon and it wasn’t too busy.

We also got tacos and cassava chips. I didn’t like the fish taco, but did enjoy the artichoke taco. I’d definitely recommend!

Great location on the water. Burgers are excellent. Chips/fries have the perfect crunch. Cool place to dine and relax.

The food was full of flavour & balanced so well! Great atmosphere & and a bonus was Monday early evening games

Went for lunch and drinks with a friend after spending most of the week trapped at home due to the cyclone and floods. The food was incredible as always and the service was great. I got the fried artichoke tacos which I’ve had before and both times I’ve had it, I’ve been blown away by the textures and flavours. My friend got the pulled pork burger which he also said was great.

This place is industrial fitout awesome. Massive rolling barn doors open to the river views and let a wonderful breeze through. Huge bar with plenty of great beers on tap and awesome staff who know their product. A menu perfect for this set up, well priced with every plate a winner at our table.

You can’t get a much better location than this for a brewery. Amazing views whilst enjoying cold local beers on tap. We opted for the ‘Classic’ and ‘Chose Your Own’ beer paddles to get a taste of as many of the brews as possible. It was great how we got a print out of the tasting notes and story behind how each of the beers were crafted so you could read as you tried each drink.
A big selection of food to chose from, but as we’d only just recently eaten, we indulged in a portion of chips - very tasty seasoning!
A cool little souvenir store inside the venue to buy merch or take home your favorite beers.

The hot sauce on the wings is phenomenal. Get them if you have any interest in wings. Just a little spicy but balanced in flavors. Pizzas are about 14”. The pineapple and spiced rums are excellent. Good beer. Open and airy atmosphere with strong ceiling fans.

Came in looking for lunch, Menu had a great range of food including dietary and allergy options, the food was phenomenal one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, and was a extremely large portion for the price. The man serving us (Scott) was extremely friendly and greeted our group with a smile and offered his services at anytime, all around with the combination of the view over the water, the kindness of the staff and the terrific food. This is definitely a place that should be visited.

We had a fantastic feed here. We opted for a few small dishes to share.

The mozzarella garlic bread was a highlight, with well-seasoned, creamy garlic butter and mozzarella cheese on a light fluffy dough.

The chips were crispy, handcut chips and came with a flavourful garlic aioli.

The calamari was perfectly cooked, with a light crispy batter and came with chilli mayonnaise.

The bourbon bbq chicken wings were another highlight. The sticky glaze was the right consistency so as not to make the crispy wings soggy.

Highly recommend a visit!

Hemingway's is a fun atmosphere with upscale pub food including a wide range of appetizers, burgers and pizza along with extensive beer selections. The location is adjacent to the Cairns cruise dock and features open air covered seating in a festive environment with friendly staff.

The Barra (barramundi) fish burger with cucumber slices was fresh and tasty, and The Hot Chick (chicken) had a zesty barbecue sauce that was excellent. The accompanying fries were crisp, and food came hot. We also the brisket nachos and Drunken Lamb wrap, and both were flavorful.

Possibly, the only slight wrinkles to the experience is that food and beverages have to be ordered at separate cashiers so you have to wait in line twice, and tables are generally first come, first served, so you need two people; one to hold the table while another orders food. Possibly this streamlines ordering when people only want drinks.

We would do back again if in Cairns.

First time we came here ensured we would be back and did so the next day.
Had some great advice from the knowledgeable guy behind the bar and us wanting a strong beer settled for the triple Belg, at 8.4% it's a ripper, couple of those will definitely put you over the driving limit, but fortunately we were within walking distance.
This place has great atmosphere, decent meals and awesome beer.
We won't be back in Cairns for a while, but when we are, it's a no brainer we'll be visiting Hemingway's again
