Hides Hotel Cairns

Great location but a bit of a challenge with finding a park nearby. We had 7 rooms all up and only one had a dodgy air conditioner which is definitely needed in these rooms. The fridge and hanging space located in the bathroom with the quad room was puzzling and annoying. The lack of lock on the bathroom/toilet door was unsettling. Lift was handy as was Woolies straight across the road.

Lifesaver, due to the rain, I had to work in the city that weekend and then wham - FLOODS, so this hotel was our home for 3 days as both roads to the northern beaches were closed off. Rooms clean and tidy and location in the right spot in the city, Woolworths across the road and not far away from the Esplanade. The balcony to die for, loved it, sat up there for our meals and just people watched. Place is lovely and so quiet. Really enjoyed our stay and thanks to the lovely receptionist we were able to add another night due to the floods. Rooms are clean because they have exceptional cleaners, so thanks to them our room was a nice welcoming. This will be our new to go stay when we hit the city. 10/10.

This is a large, cheaper motel type accommodation in central Cairns. The rooms are nice, with everything you'd expect from city accommodation and at a reasonable price. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Nice breakfast room and spacious verandah for drinks and relaxing.

It is an easy 5 Star for me. I am one of those who does not put in review all the time but when it is good service I'll make an effort. We booked a room with 2 single bed for 1 night to stay in the city as we are attending a birthday party then. Wihtout asking, Hide offered us an upgrade to a bigger room which is awesome. The room is clean and does not have that old hotel feel or smell like other people says. Ofcourse you can see some part has aged due to the history of the hotel but it does not bother us at all. The hotel feels safe as they require pin for you to get in after 9pm which is good for security. It is in the centre of the shops and restaurants which is a very good location when you are looking for a place to stay for a night out. It is not noisy at all. We can't hear the noise outside which is great. This was our first time to stay at Hides and will definitely go back in the future. We are Cairns local and it is good we have places like this to stay in the city . The 2 receptionist that helped out out from check in and check out was very friendly.

This place is in the heart of Cairns an old building but enough for a holiday maker like me that only want a place to sleep. Its affordable, very clean and well maintained, staff were accomodating.

Excellent check in, staff were friendly. Rooms were spacious, ghost free.
Stainless steel shower flooor was a highlight. Ladders into the roof proved a nice adventure. 10/10 would recommend bringing a partner here for romance time.
Not pet friendly however I snuck my rabbit in and we had a nice stay.

Great budget accomodation with everything you need! Amazing location, big rooms and easy access. Kettle and bar fridge were handy as well as aircon, fans, and USB charging ports next the bed. Great to stay when you are out adventuring around cairns with a base to come back to. Pubs and cafes a plenty!

Really good ! Clean rooms for a great price.

Great value for cost. Older place with small amenities. First room we got, the ac didn't blow cold air. We brought it to the attention of the staff and were upgraded to a new room with a functional ac. The staff were very friendly and assisted us in making a rental car arrangement.

Good value for its money. Hotel is great for those travelling on a budget and are young professionals looking to momentarily escape the city life. Just a 10-15 minute walk to the Reef Terminals where the location acts as a bridge to the Great Barrier Reef. Woolworths across the road to grab breakfast and the hotel is also close to Cairns Aquarium, Zoom activities, and Esplande waterfront restaurants.

The room was very clean, comfortable, and affordable. There is also secure onsite parking for a very small fee. Great quality bed and awesome WiFi connection. Fantastic central location, with a great pub right downstairs.

Great place to stay. Staff are more than great to interact with. Great location with pubs and food everywhere. 10 minutes from Cairns airport. So easy to get around with cabs and buses at the doorstep. Highly recommended for a great time.

I went to Hides hotel for drinks on the verandah with some friends. It is a lovely hotel situated right in the heart of the city centre at 84 Lake St. The little I saw of inside was lovely and had a great 1900 'so feel. Would like to stay there one night just for the hell it.

Zenhotels.com Is a scam. Do not book through this company to stay anywhere. The staff at Hides Hotel were very nice and helpful but the booking agent I went through here on Google maps was sad amd I could not believe the trouble I had to go through. They charged full amount and only stated they would take half payment. Scam #1 Then would not allow me to change my dates without fully charging me the full amount of the booking to change it. Whoa!!! Scam #2 save yourself the drama and book through the hotel itself

Has been a icon of Cairns and recommend that try HYDES at least once. You won't be disappointed.
