Crate 59 attracts the best people. A great community venue. It was great to attend the launch by ARC Disability Services at this venue today.

CR8 59 is the longest running Artist Run Initiative (ARI) in Australia. The address comprises studio spaces that are occupied by permanent members, who not only have successful artistic careers, they also oversee administration and maintenance of the premises.

Over the past twelve years in operation, Crate 59 has remained stoically independent and free of public funding.

With the direct support of the Cairns Community, whether through the purchase of artworks or by simply joining us for spectacular exhibition openings, we will continue to thrive.

You may also simply drop in on weekdays to enjoy the award winning coffee from Billy's Coffee and be mesmerised by the latest displays in our gallery space.
