Amazing food. Very authentic and delicious. Updating my review after 6 years. Decor is basic but you’re not here for that! The food more than makes up for it. Don’t forget to have the Satay - the sauce it comes with is great.

Straight from the airport to this Cafe by uber! Ordered Nasi Beef Rendang, Bebek Goreng and Pecel. Oohh my...oohh my not disappointed!! The rendang smells so nice, taste all the spice and coconut milk in it, meat very tender and moist ( NOT DRY AS MANY OTHERS DO IT ), The Bebek Goreng was crunchy from the outside but so tender and moist from the inside and again you can taste all the spice and herb.
The Pecel was so authentic taste, plenty of crunch of the vegies and you can tell them how hot you want, spicy, not spicy or very spicy!
And the vegie pickle was so refreshing combinations!!😋😋😋
The sambal just made everything complete 👌👌😋😋
Overall dish were very good! The service was quick, and the staff ( a lovely lady with the hijjab was pleasantly nice and so welcoming). Highly recommend it!

Small joint but good food. Owner is very welcoming and friendly. You might have to wait a bit as they are under the pump due to their popularity. But the wait is worthy. I would recommend this cafe whoever wants some good Indonesian food.

The food is AMAZING! Proper, authentic Indonesian cuisine. The satay is absolutely delicious. It's so nice that I've ordered it both times we've visited! It's also the only place in Cairns we've found that serves iced Milo, which is a big bonus for us! They serve generous portions & it's well worth the money. The owners are so friendly and welcoming, and it has a really great, chilled out vibe there. I would definitely recommend visiting Bagus.

Lovely Indonesian chef and waitress! First time dinning on a Tuesday evening, ordered a duck leg with nasi goreng (extra $10.5) & chicken curry! My partner & I just loved the food so much and both agreed this is the best Indonesian food in Cairns! Real Indonesian food plus no MSG! High recommend this! Will definitely come back for Gado Gado next time!

Has a strong Indoesian warung (street side eatery) feel and vibe. Great to sit and eat or take away. Just off the esplanade with free street side parking.

One of best Indonesian food I have ever tried in Australia along with the one in Broome.
I normally judge by the fried rice or fried noodle.
The fried noodle is amazing.
The Sambal (chilly paste) is really chef’s kiss. Very authentic.
The fried rice is quite good but I would rather get fried noodles as the fried rice a bit salty.

The grilled chicken is nice but it is not my liking. I know so many Indonesian and Australian will like this. I am more into salty and spicy food like Padang food. Regardless, the food still nice and I have enjoyed it.

The staff and owner are very friendly. The wait is also not long. Very good job.

I kept going back to Bagus whilst visiting cairns because it is the best Indonesian food that I’ve had outside of Indonesia. It’s authentic with kind service and authentic food served from a hole in the wall. The chicken satays are particularly noteworthy

I had the very delicious Nasi Goreng fried rice with 2 sticks of chicken satay. The rice was a but spicy and they had some very spicy sambal to raise the spice level. Alsi had a chocolate milkshake which was awesome. 😋

It wis nice Indonesian food. And good service and friendly. I always had meals when I traveled Cairns.

We really loved Bagus during our stay at Cairns, we went back there every second day during the week. This is some of the best Indonesian food outside of Indonesia.

The owners of the restaurant bring a smile to your face with amazing hospitality and the setting of the restaurant reminded me of Indonesia.

Definitely recommend the food especially the rendang sapi!

Nice peaceful spot to have a great Indonesian meal! The portion was just nice and food was very delicious. I ordered the grilled duck a’la carte. Highly recommend this warung to anyone visiting the area.

This was one of the best meals we had during our trip to Australia. Tried the Rendang, Nasi Goreng with Crispy duck, chicken satay and onde onde. Everything was delicious. We didn’t try it until our last night but would’ve definitely come back again if we stayed longer.

Food is delicious! We always order the fried chicken with rice, spinach & small sides with satay chicken with 3x extra satay sauces! 😂😂
