Freedom III Whale Watch and Charters

we just had the most amazing day. We have done whale watching before, but nothing compares to today’s experience. Everything was perfect - the crew, the boat, the food, the experience and of course the whales (who kept us entertained for hours).

Capt Toni, Rhys and Adam were fantastic on our voyage to see the whales. I couldn't fault them at all.
We had the perfect day, sunny with clear skies and seas. It was clear that all the boats out were working together to not only ensure the best opportunity for whale sightings, but taking the utmost care and precautions to prevent any harm to the whales - which was a wonderful show of respect for these gracious creatures.
The food was plentiful, the music was playing and its clear our crew love their work. I have never been more in awe than the moment 2 inquisitive humpback whales came to the bow of the boat to check we tiny humans out.

I felt transformed by meeting these gentle giants in such beautiful circumstances and I am grateful to the whole team for making this possible. Keep up the great work guys, our sea life needs more ambassadors like you. ❤

Beyond all expectations! This was our first time whale watching and 3 days into the season I wasn't expecting too much...how wrong I was! The skipper Keith (who has some great dance moves) and the crew were friendly, professional, knowledgable and very informative during the cruise. The food was excellent especially the home made morning tea. But the main attraction of course are the whales, and boy did we get up close and personal! The encounters were beautiful, and lasted for ages with inquisitive whales surfacing right next to the boat (have your cameras ready!). There was also lots of excitment with dolphins, turtles and amazing scenery. Great value for money. I can't wait to go out on Freedom III again!

We had a beautiful day on the Freedom 111. Captain Toni and crew were extremely attentive, knowledgeable and lovely people. The food was delicious and my coeliac friend was well catered for. The whales were amazing, we saw so many and we had an all round magical day. We would highly recommend Freedom and we will return.

Thanks Keith & Sue for a wonderful experience on our first ever Whale Watching Cruise ! With such a warm and fun welcoming from Toni we felt very excited about the cruise ahead. It was the 3rd day of the season and we got to experience whales right beside the boat. It was exciting as we all searched for the Whales and it really was a team effort as everyone was looking and scanning. The meals were beautiful and we were so well looked after by all the staff. On the cruise back we enjoyed seeing dolphins, turtles and the aqua blue water beside the islands, we also enjoyed meeting people from overseas and from australia, with some of us exchanging our names and numbers to share our amazing photos and footage of our exciting but relaxed cruise, we cant wait to bring our teenagers up to experience it and i have been telling everyone they need to book

What a glorious day!! We booked with Freedom III after recommendations by family. So glad we did. We had the best day. Saw pods of whales and lost count of them breaching. The staff were friendly, great price and yummy food. Glad we booked with Freedom many other lines turned back about lunch time but we went all day. Was superb. Thanks Keith and team.

We had an awesome day on the boat. It was quite early in the season (July 12), but we were quite lucky. A 10 outta 10 whale watching day, according to captain Keith. We saw several whales. Flipping their tales and fins. We even saw a jump out of the water ("breaching"), just for a short moment and really far away. The crew was friendly and all the food was great.

A really wonderful day! The whales were magnificent and we were lucky enough to see dolphins too. The crew were just fantastic, so friendly and really took care of everyone with sunscreen and food. The food was delicious too, and the profiteroles are every bit as good as they say! The captain was great fun and kept everyone engaged and working together to spot whales. Couldn’t recommend Freedom highly enough!

We went on the boat for whale watching a few days ago. It was by far one of the best experiences of my life. The team was incredible, great knowledge of whales, very respectful of them. They love their work and the whales, so much so that a few whales came to meet us and stayed with us for a long time. Breach, tails, mom and her calf... Very special day, I recommend Freedom Whale Watch.

My wife and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary with a trip to see the whales in Hervey Bay. We were not disappointed. Freedom III was a nice small and stable boat and there were loads of areas to watch the whales from. We saw so many whales! The crew members were all great and the food was fresh and plentiful. Fantastic day out the exceeded my expectations. Lucky enough to have beautiful weather and got to see 8 whales (I think) up close. Captain Keith is awesome and great commentary, delicious food, great staff. Great day out.

First day out for whale watching of the season. We drove from Ipswich for the experience and were not disappointed. Great food, great crew, great day out.saw heaps of whales and the boat was amazing. Seeing Fraser Island up that close was also a first for us both, scenery was amazing. Loved every minute of it. Highly recommend.

Had a great day out on Monday. Toni and the crew handled the boat well in lumpy conditions. The food was awesome and the whales came out to play. We were mugged by a young male who cruised around the boat for about an hour, came across a 'fighting' pod (males jostling for mating rights) and encountered a mother and a calf that performed a couple of breaches. Great stuff. Freedom III always delivers a terrific day.

We had the most amazing day with the crew on the Freedom 111 Whale watching.. We saw 15 whales and one time there were 6 whales around the boat what a incredible feeling this was. The crew where full of knowledge and we all had a whale of a time 🤣
I wish to thank the crew as this was a big tick off my bucket list.

What a fabulous day out with an amazing crew. Food was sensational from freshly baked scones and profiteroles for morning tea, followed by a great lunch and afternoon tea of cheeses and fruit.
We saw lots of whales up close and had plenty of close encounters. Just an amazing experience and would certainly do the same cruise again with Freedom111. Thanks for a wonderful day.

Such a great day on the Freedom lll and exceeded all expectations. With fantastic food and amazing staff I could not ask for any more. There were so many whales I lost count.

WHAT A GREAT DAY!!! Didn't see a lot of whales BUT the grand finale was the icing on the cake...a baby whale learning to breach. The food was lovely, scones with jam & cream and profiteroles, lunch was ham & silverside with 3 different salads followed by cheese and crackers and cut fruit. Thanks to the crew of Freedom 111 for looking after us and our appetites.

Just spent an awesome day on Freedom III Whale Watch; the second trip in 5 weeks and even better this time around. Lots of whales and the most awesome experience was when a mother and calf came across and swam alongside our boat doing all sorts of manoeuvres; the calf even stared directly at us! This has to be one of the best value whale watching trips in Hervey Bay. The trip lasted six and a half hours and the morning tea, (especially Keith's Profiteroles) chicken, cold meats and salad for lunch and then cheese, biscuits and a fruit platter for afternoon tea was first class! We'll be back...!!!

It was a fantastic day with 20+ whale sightings. We had a close encounter, baby whale breaches and plenty of whale activity.
The vessel and size of the group is perfect to still move around with plenty of space. Staff were friendly and very informative and there was plenty of food throughout the day.
Even through the weather was overcast it was a fun filled day and hope to return in the future. Cannot recommend enough!
