Dangar Island Depot

We arrived in Dangar Island and this cafe welcomed us. The island is pretty small and nice. I love how friendly the staff were. They also have homemade tomato sauce and everything is just really nice there. My friends and I had our meal outdoors with the beautiful view. I love it. Such a wonderful weekend.

Chill out and get the ferry from Brooklyn to Dangar Island, the Depot is close to the wharf and has great coffee and meals as well as being the general store for the island. Wheelchair accessible but no restrooms, the public restrooms are a short walk away near the bowling club. Enjoy a good meal at the Depot and have a relaxing walk around the island, look for the kookaburras and other birds.

Delicious food with amazing views right by the water. Friendly service with a relaxed vibe - best not to be in a rush!

Great location right next to the wharf, friendly staff, the burgers are great! Also have pastries and sell a few essential grocery items.

Beautiful cafe - amazing setting (worthy of a Monet painting), superb coffee and lovely, home-cooked food. What a discovery!

The view and atmosphere was great. Their double cheese burger was so delicious. Plus the coffee was very good. Excellent customer service.

Lovely breakfast and after our walk on the Island a cool drink before catching the ferry back to Brooklyn. 💖

Have recommended to friends & will be back. A hidden gem and surprisingly accessible near a ferry & Hawkesbury river station. Fantastic to have lunch, walk the island & return for some icecream. Fantastic fresh burger & good to see properly made bacon egg waffles (hard to find elsewhere).

Staff were very young & lacked some customer service, but that’s expected. Location, food & atmosphere made up for it.

Would suggest serving in house gelato if you can afford the space? Would be great!

We had a fantastic lunch there on Sunday, great menu and wonderful coffee. Lunch with a fantastic view.

Nice quaint little cafe right next to the public wharf. Maybe a little pricey but it's about the experience and the beautiful, not the cost 😁

The food was so great we had to get another plate of waffles. Great service and pretty short waiting time. Right next to the wharf and the buggies so once you dig in you can take a quick trip round the island

Stopped by during breakfast for a quick burger before a walk around the island. Ordered the breakfast burger and it was absolute banging. Stacked with flavour and with the green chilli jam it was a smash hit. The service girl was abit slow but she's young so I'm happy to give her a pass. Would come here again.

Delicious lunch: hot smoked salmon salad and the Reuben toastie. Great value, beautiful tranquil location.

Arrived at Dangar Island with an empty stomach and were looking forward to have something to eat on the Island.
After arrival we heard, that the kitchen is closed already. After grabbing a few crackers and cheese we found out, that the kitchen is that early closed as they run out of everything after the public holiday.
The (I believe) owner saw our disappointment and offered us an egg roll with a meat patty, as the bacon was still frozen.
Even this spontaneous fixed meal was delicious and the service absolutely fantastic! We'll definitely be back! :-) Thanks again!

Best (and only) cafe on Dangar island, but really, the food here is great. I can highly recommend the veggie burger.

Gorgeous little cafe with friendly and terrific staff. Mary was bright as a star! I ordered the Belgian waffles and they were delicious! Try their homemade jam, it's amazing. What a wonderful experience to have just as you arrive in Dangar! :)

My local happy place. Where I get to hang out with my favourite friends and drink wonderful coffee.
