Not Just Curries Reviews

The food was beautiful.
The flavours were superb, so well balanced and certainly not over spiced.
The service was also excellent, with a wonderful education from our lovely waitress regarding the various styles of Indian food located on Wigram St, Harris Park (also known as “Little India”)
We chose three mains. All superb with the standout being the Mushroom Matter.
The serving sizes were generous. We ended up taking leftovers home as we were stuffed.
Chicken Avadhi $25. Tender pieces of boneless chicken simmered over a slow fire in a rich sauce of cashew nut & almond. The dish was mild to medium on the “heat” Richter scale. Delicious!
Pepper Masala Goat curry $27. A South Indian style curry prepared with tempered curry leaves and black pepper. My wife was hesitant as she is usually not fond of goat. She adored it. The meat was so tender with a divine texture, falling off the bone with very little fat. The dish was slightly hotter than the chicken, but not over spiced. Delicious!
Mushroom Mattar $23. White button mushrooms & green peas in an onion and tomato based warm to medium spicy gravy. This was outstanding. Loved it, the flavours were brilliant. Delicious x 3!
Not Just Curries has both indoor and outdoor dining.
Fully licensed or BYO. (There is a bottle shop as you walk out of Harris Park Station)
Harris Park train station is a 2-minute walk to Wigram St. Paramatta train station is an 8-minute walk.
Dining in the evening is recommended as every restaurant tends to compete ensuring the establishments “Bollywood Lights” are brighter than the place next door.
Thank You “Not Just Curries” for a fantastic feed.

This ‘Little India’ icon has earnt a justifiable reputation as a laid back culinary treasure. Everything works here from the ironic restaurant name to the attentive staff - tonight the maître’d came and asked me if I wanted a second coke and when I hesitated he somehow divined before I said it I wanted a Mango Lassi :) It’s also a place where I routinely order vegetarian food a rare thing for me a Uruguayan-born carnivore. So if you are thinking of heading to Wigram St, Harris Park, I heartily recommend this place. And don’t be shy about asking for a doggy bag!

We caught up with our friends here on Saturday evening for our catch-up over dinner and drinks . We all had an enjoyedable time at this restaurant! The staff were friendly, and it had a nice atmosphere too. Our dinner selections were all fresh, delicious, and very reasonably priced.
Thank you, and we'll definitely be back again!

Venturing into Not Just Curries in Harris Park is a delightful foray into authentic Indian cuisine. The butter chicken is a velvety symphony of spices and tender chicken pieces, truly a standout dish. Similarly, the rogan josh is a masterful blend of flavours that dance on the palate, with the perfect marriage of heat and depth. The naans served are exemplary, pillowy and soft with just the right amount of char, acting as the perfect vehicle for the rich, saucy dishes.
The entrees, each a testament to the culinary prowess of the chefs, set the stage for the feast to follow. The basmati rice, fragrant and fluffy, complements the gravies with its subtle aroma and perfect texture. A word on the chicken tikka, though: while succulent, it veers towards the saltier side, which might not cater to all tastes. It may also just have been our particular serving that was salty. Maybe it’s not the norm.
Above all, the customer service is nothing short of amazing. Attentive and warm, the staff at Not Just Curries ensures a dining experience that’s as comfortable as it is memorable. This is not just a restaurant; it's a gateway to gastronomic bliss, where every dish is a hearty echo of Indian culinary heritage.

Excellent service, excellent food. We decided as a family to take a drive from an hour south to check out restaurants in Harris park. We stumbled across this gem of a restaurant. Not only was the food and service great. They even catered for my son who is anaphylactic to cashews. They made sure there was no cross contamination when they made his food. They were very attentive to our needs.

I have grown up to appreciate favours.
It is hands down proven that favour is absolutely packed here.
Not the over powering kind but the well balanced.
Quality and thought is observed through the dishes I got to dine with.
Their Dahi Puri was perfectly made, crispy outer shell bursting with refreshing favours.
The favours continued with Kalimich Tikka which was accompanied well with the side of yoghurt.
Our main consisted of the delicious Delhi style butter chicken, traditional goat curry, lamb biryani and a side of the freshly baked cheese garlic naans to die for!!!
Our over experience, this second time has been amazing!! Great cosy friendly atmosphere, service and food... all very traditional and modern styles fused into their cooking and experience.
I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great feed or amazing dining experience located in Harris Park, right next door to Parramatta.

Nice and warm atmosphere. A family was celebrating a member's 70th birthday.
They have good cocktails, ciders and other mixers.
All the food we ordered were great! - Palak paneer, butter chicken, dhaniya murgh, samosa, naan and paratha. I could not single out any one as a favourite!

Excellent Indian restaurant in the heart of the little India in Sydney - Harris Park. Well priced and food was very tasty (especially the garlic naan and the spicy take on butter chicken). Decent drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) on offer. Staff were friendly and efficient - will definitely be back

Visited during lunch time on a Saturday.
Service was really good and quick. Staff was very polite and helpful.
Lemon soda and garlic naan were very tasty. delhi style butter chicken curry was good although the chicken pieces might have been more tender.

Lovely ambience, courteous staff..just got started with a Tandoori Chicken. It was served on a hot platter, chicken cooked well, sliding off the bone. Once starters were over, we called for main course. We had goat curry and garlic naans. That took a while to arrive. Ask for everything to be served together, that will be a fantastic eating experience.

I love this place... my Indian chef friends recommended it to us... especially the Chicken 65! But the whole menu is amazing and the staff super enthusiastic about the food. Having spent a lot of time in India, the food is authentic and the atmosphere fun... Harris Park... perfect!
The only downside is the waiting times for take away: sometimes they say 10 minutes and it can be 30... small downside but none the less...

This is our favourite Indian restaurant in Harris Park. The food is always excellent and the staff are so welcoming. We've never had a bad meal or experience here. They are also so good at accommodating dietary restrictions and will advise what is ok for people to order or adapt dishes to suit.
