Richard and his team at MIY Kitchens were absolutely amazing to work with. Richard is a warm and accommodating person who genuinely cared about my project and always took the time to chat about any questions I had.

The kitchen itself exceeded my expectations on what was possible to do as a DIYer. To be fair I do have trade skills but I had never built cabinetry or renovated a kitchen before and MIY are the perfect solution to those who want to get stuck in themselves and save a TON of money on designers and middle men who up the price. I think this kitchen would have nearly cost me double if a kitchen design/build business had have done it for me. It wasn't even that much more expensive than an ikea job either and everything is absolutely custom made to the millimetre. I simply drew up some plans and took them into Richard and he modelled it on his computer and got it built! It was no hassle when I had some changes I wanted to make and Richard was always available for advice.

I was recommended this company after being quoted well over $35K to build and install shaker style cabinets for a TV unit, Study, mud room, and laundry. I sent my plans to make it yourself kitchens and was quoted a little over a third of the price for the same cabinets by Richard. The cabinets were exceptional quality and were built and assembled, ready for installation and pick up within 5 weeks. The cabinets were exactly what I was getting for the 35K quoted by a well known company and all hardware was soft closing. I installed the cabinets myself and had no issues as they were custom built to specification. Regardless, even if you paid a handy man to install you would save a lot of money. I would and have recommended Make it yourself kitchens to anyone who is renovating and wants to save big $$$ or is on a budget. Very happy customer.

We haven’t finished our renovation but soo pleased already!!! A big thankyou to Richard and the “Make It Yourself Kitchens” team. I have been looking for over 12 months for a solution and went through the usual options, Bunnings weren’t flexible in size or colour range, Ikea was poor quality to the point the Ikea sales person suggested that I will need to buy panels from Bunnings to make the cabinets more sturdy, Freedom was incredibly over priced. We then tried a few trades people, who were all very nice but quite busy to take a small to medium size jobs.

Renovation came in under budget so paid a little extra to have Richards teams put the cabinets together. All we needed to do is remove the old cabinets and insert the new!!

Richard is amazing and I could not fault him, he thought of everything when it came to creating our kitchen space and how we could get the most out of the limited space we had. Richard and the MIY Kitchens team were exceptionally professional and helpful in providing our kitchen cabinetry for our own assembly and install. The process was streamlined with accurate lead times and quality product. Richard was very responsive and prompt when minor adjustments to the cabinetry were required.

I contacted MIK after visiting many other kitchen companies. Every kitchen supplier wanted to do things their way, had cupboards of fixed dimensions, had too many stipulations or were just too expensive.

Keeping the cost of a fully renovated kitchen to a minimum was critical for me. MIK were able to supply all the cabinets to the exact dimensions I needed to maximise my new kitchen design. I was also able to source my own bench tops, handles, etc.

MIK has supplied my kitchen and wardrobe cabinets and the quality is faultless. Any issues were quickly resolved. I highly recommend these guys.

We were fitting out a large laundry and a WIR and needed custom fit cabinetry but looking for a solution that was cost conscious and knowing we could install ourselves, Make It Yourself Kitchens was a great solution. They were easy to work with and had a full choice of materials and price points to select from. Quick turn around time for manufacture and made on schedule. For someone who already knows what they want and just needs a manufacturer to bring they vision to life, Make It Yourself Kitchen made it easy. I would happily recommend MIYK and will use them for future projects. Think Kaboodle but better!!
