Lee's Yum Cha

There was afakasi (Polynesian/Asian) guy that served us he was the highlight of dinner. My guy you were friendly and made the dinner worth the drive. A bug thank you to you. Sadly we went recently and he was not there. Hope to see you next time we come down. The food was delicious and could never finish it but I'm not complaining about having leftovers

A wonderful family oriented Chinese restaurant - perfect for a date night or the whole family. The menu is massive with authentic selections; it came out very quickly (except for the items from handmade menu, made from scratch) and with large portion sizes. Make room for entrees, as at least one is a must for any foodie.

I will definitely be back.

I would grade this establishment as the one of the best restaurant offering Chinese cuisine. My favour is the Sichuan cuisine in addition to the chicken and beef noodles. The dumplings are also always very nice. The staff is very accommodating.

A good place, I was served quickly after being seated, staff are courteous and the food is delicious, I will definitely be back 🙂

Wow, when I saw this restaurant advertising yum cha, I thought it’d be untraditional Chinese food and after my first bite, I was wrong. I had doubted Newcastle had anything close to some Sydney Chinese restaurants to match anywhere closely with satisfying dining results.

The flavours of each dish were just amazing and will take you to China when eating.
I feel that the table waiters could be more attentively as I wasn’t the only table searching for assistance and the “service bell button” on the table did light up when pressed though no one arrived either.
Once there was table service, they were very friendly and focused on your service needs.

There is undercover and on-site parking within the shopping centre close by as well as toilets; you’ll find this restaurant in “The Corner” area of the centre.

This was a great experience and no doubt I’ll be returning, thank you Lee.

Updated 27.Dec.2021: we dined in again, ordered Barramundi with sweet and sour sauce. It could be nice if it wasn’t ‘soaked’ in way too much sauce, made it taste too ‘rich’.

I always order from Lee’s kitchen when we go to Charlestown Square Food Court. But to Lee’s Yum Cha today was only our second visit. All are still the same like our first visit: friendly service, yummy foods and delicious tea. We’ll be back.

Went back tonight after waiting two months for Lee's to be open again! Food was just as good as when we went in opening week, especially the crispy salt and pepper fried tofu 👌👌dim sums are delicately made with thin skins and quality filling, great texture to buns and tart pastry. Very happy to finally have a quality yum cha in Newcastle

Service was great! Tripe was a bit chewy and the Xiao long bao was kind of overdone (see photos). A bit expensive per dish compared to other yumcha places

Otherwise still a nice place to have lunch when you are craving yumcha!

Had lunch yesterday @ Lee’s… Fantastic food & service , had the crispy pork belly, cumin lamb , won ton soup & chicken soup …
Was delicious and they were big serves ! Took the leftovers home ..

Great range of Sichuan dishes and yum cha and everything tasted fresh and delicious! Clay pot eggplant and dumplings were so good. Desserts were amazing too! Best authentic Chinese food I’ve had in Newcastle/Lake Mac.

Always order from them , food basic just standard compare to sydney Chinese restaurant. But current compare ro newcastle. I reckon top 3 restaurant for Chinese food .

New restaurant to Charlestown Square, food was beautiful & bountiful as well.

Ordered the Crispy Chicken which was so moist, the Brisket Hot Pot which was so tender & full of flavour, the King Prawn Omelette which was full of prawns (no skimping on the good stuff here) & Asian Greens to round it off!

Service was awesome as well, very attentive & helpful.

I always come here every weekend with my friends. The foods are always good, the waitress is very friendly. One thing i like the most is the mango pancake, it’s very nice. I would recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for a chinese cuisine! This is the best yumcha in newcastle!❤

friendly staff and very tasty food, they offer very spicy food if like those kind of flavor 。use google map to pin point a parking near the restaurant when going, if u use mall main entrance parking that will take a couple more minutes and you might got lost before reach the restaurant☺

Best restaurant so far. I have been to all of the Chinese restaurants in Newcastle but Lee’s Yum Cha is something different. The food is so yum yum and yummmm. The staffs are so friendly, even the chef comes out to explain the food to us. Give it a tryyyyy guys 😋

A very very good variety of dim sum. Taste very authentic. I live in Sydney and this is a surprise yum cha gem in Newcastle.

In my opinion, Lee's Yum Cha's offerings and service are as good, if not even better than, those we have experienced in Sydney.

Amazing place! The staff were so lovely and the food was so fresh! Definitely a winner 💕
