Coastal Curries Indian Take Away

Outstanding, delicious curries. Medium was like my hot, so if you're usually a 'medium', I'd recommend going for mild.
The decor is very basic, I'll stick with take-away; Coastal Curries is all about the food.

I go their for Dosa which are not available on other Indian restaurant menus. Always greeted warmly and enjoy the no frills setting and delicious Dosas.

Chief Louis & team - amazing..Probably the best Paneer Tikka Masala & Daal Makhni, Naan I have tasted since my arrival to Australia.

This is one of the best restaurants we ever visited. We went yesterday to them and they knew that it was our son's first birthday. When we finished, they surprised us with a delicious semolina cake 🎂 for our son. All the stuff are so kind and lovely and we had photos. It was our first time nnd it will never be the last.
The place is so clean and the Biryani and the butter chicken is delicious. Prices are affordable too. Thanks you, guys! You make our day!

We are addicted to cuisines here since we first tried on Mother’s Day 2023. We almost go every week for yummy and healthy South Indian foods. It feels like homemade. Cheese Dosa has stolen our heart.

Louis is a South Indian chef and he he know his stuff in regards to South Indian food. If you want a special order North Indian order Rahman (kidney beans) he absolutely killed it. On par with my wife. For South Indian all his dishes are top notch as he is a South Indian chef. He is a great guy. With regards Raju

Extremely authentic South Indian food. Their dosas, Sambar and chutneys are heavenly. We also tried their gobi manchurian, chicken 65 and vada which were very tasty. Surprisingly the vada was made fresh and not just fried from frozen. The filter coffee is also a must try! Took me back home!
The chef is from south India so he knows what he’s doing 😌 Not too sure how their curries and nans are but all of their South Indian dishes are mouthwatering 🤤 and very very reasonably priced.

Wanted to visit for a long time.Staff very friendly, food very nice took me back 30yrs to south India.Will be visiting regularly 🤞

I've been to this place twice when I was working during weekends in Kotara and Eraring. I am confident to say that the chicken & lamb biryani is perhaps one of the best I've tasted so far. The mutton curry is also nicely done, filled with spices and mutton cubes. very authentic!

I ordered few times, starting was bit ok.. But but but after the new Management took place, and Chef Louise is the man, makes very good delicious varieties and dishes. We also have tried very authentic South indian Dosa, they were amazing as well as North Indian Aloo paratha and cauliflower Naan. Wow,, please try from the menu, they can make fresh....

This is my 2nd review on google as i am not much in to it but after being to this place today i could not stop writing.
We were visiting new castles from sydney and we had our brunch here this morning. I couldn’t stop thinking about the food yet as it was so delicious. We had almost everything starting from Dosa, Bada, idli, sambar, tomato rice ,chicken 65 and many more.I must say the food was sublime and absolute fresh. Apart from food i must say the ambiance was really good and i love the person “Akka” who was serving the food very lovingly with her whole heart. Felt like home for a while. Thank you so much for the lovely food and such good gesture. Will definitely come back .
PN: I am not a south Indian food lover still found the food very yummy and fresh .

I've had Indian meals at many restaurants and I've had authentic, traditional home made Indian and I can say the meal I had was beautiful, there was so much flavour and not dry. I asked for a hot vegetable Korma and they were more then happy to make it for me and it was just delicious. The cheese and garlic naan and was so fresh and you can taste the garlic. I also had their almond and fig kulfi and it was just beautiful. I suggest anyone who enjoys Indian food that you do give this a go, you will not be disappointed.

Best Indian food ever had , Chef Lewis is top notch. Tasty and lower priced compared to other restaurants. all the dishes we took away were delicious.

The restaurant is run under a new management. They are pretty much starting up! Got all curries and the variety of Naan breads. The Authentic taste have come back to life. Highly recommend the place. Prices are very reasonable and competitive to the restaurants around. Kinda tight on parking. But worth walking a bit.

The food was amazing, the dosas were really crispy and vada were tasty and crispy with the sambar, I never had such good South Indian food before. Overall was outstanding food and definitely would come again. You have got to try it if you are a South Indian food lover. 😍

Food was amazing, obviously tell best indian food chef in Newcastle at the moment ( Louis). The best dishes I had chicken & goat Biriyani, Chicken fried rice , Kottu ( Sri Lankan way) and wada.

Went for lunch there in person with my sister today - service was kind, prompt and friendly! Ordered gobi manchurian which was crispy and transported me back to the authentic Indian flavours and made me tear up. In my 4 years of stay in Australia, this is by far the most authentic dish I had. Also had the chilly paneer which was fabulous, masala dosa loved the potato filling and the coconut chutney flavour was SPOT ON! just like my mom makes!! Also tried the chicken noodles which was amazing. I have never been more ecstatic about Indian food in Australia. Owner is also friendly and kind! Thank you!! Definitely coming again!!

Best curry we've ever had. Made to order fresh even on a busy long weekend and samosas were mind blowing. Amazing customer service too the lady at the counter was incredibly nice. Heaps of vegan/veg options too!

Fantastic Schezwan Fried rice (veg) & my friend had chicken briyani which was awesome as well.

Very authentic South Indian food, if you are from Chennai - you should definitely try the indo Chinese dishes

Ask them for signature dishes which are retained the authentic recipe & some are customized to meet everyone.

Lewis (chef) is running a hidden gem of this restaurant at Cardiff, I have requested him to open one in Sydney as well. Lol

Try not to miss this if you can stop over at Cardiff for a quick bite…

Wow! This is amazing authentic Sri Lankan food right here in little Cardiff! I had Kota Roti, chicken and vegetarian and I am going back tomorrow. It's worth ordering ahead, because it's made from scratch. Coastal Curries recently changed hands and my friend in the know recommended it to me. Exciting for anyone who lives within an hour of Cardiff!
