I thought Brenden, from Paint Protection Plus, was a lovely guy when I met him. He was responsive and easy to communicate with. He scheduled me in at short notice and he is clearly very passionate about the work that he does. Unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positives, and I would not recommend his services or return to his detailing shop.

My car is one year old, and I asked Paint Protection Plus to address several rock chips I had found. On arrival, I pointed out the damage and Brenden launched into a speech about how nice ceramic coating will look on my car and the work that he will do for the interior. I reminded him that the rock chips were my only real concern, and I didn’t ask for any other work on the car. This made Brenden apologise and admit that he had mixed my car up with another vehicle. I am glad I communicated this to him before he started performing labour that I hadn’t asked for but was disappointed that he didn’t remember what I had said previously. If I hadn’t of said anything he may have expected me to pay $1,300 for something I didn’t ask for.

When I went to pick up the car, I was beside myself. Brenden had missed at least one of the rock chips that I had expressly pointed out to him and yet was still bragging about how nice his work looked. Many of the rock chips that were addressed simply had too much paint over them. He had brushed over the affected area leaving a patch of white paint much larger than the original damage. I reached out to another car detail shop and sent them photos. Their reply confirmed my suspicions.

When I got home, I reached out to Brenden to understand his methods and ask him what he did. To say he didn’t tolerate the feedback well would be an understatement. Even though I assured him I wasn’t looking for a refund and was simply trying to educate myself he still devolved into name calling. Brenden called me an idiot and said I am no longer a customer of his. Brenden mentioned he did not make any money off the job he did, as if this was somehow my fault and that I should be thankful.

I can confidently say the work that was performed on my car was not to a professional’s standard. It goes without saying that I wish I had never approached Paint Protection Plus. The issue that I had hoped could be addressed is now worse and I am seeking another detailer to help undo what Brenden has done. When I tried to understand his logic, Brenden resorted to personal attacks, and I had to block his number on my phone.

Brenden, if you end up reading this, I hope it gives you a reality check. Even if your work isn’t as bad as I’ve described your attitude needs to be adjusted. You need to learn to take feedback and I hope you treat the rest of your customers better than I was treated.
