Guardian Childcare & Education Phillip Street (formerly The Pavilion)

Carers and staff are very friendly and passionate. At pick up, staff are transparent with how the day went and provide regular feedback on improving the child's experience at the centre. Photos show that daily activities for the children are new and engaging experiences that develop their skills at an age-appropriate level.

My daughter has had a wonderful three months at the Guardian Phillip Centre. The Educators here are brilliant! I wanna say thank you to Shirley, Betty, Chandra and all the teachers for taking care of Ariel, she misses everyone so much!
I would highly recommend this childcare centre to my friends and other parents. The team here is very patient, good at communication and has a love heart for the children. I sincerely hope that the Phillip Centre will become better and better!

The Guardian Phillip Street Centre has been a home away from home for our daughter, who has attended the centre from 12 months old. The educators at the centre are extremely competent and always have a warm and friendly demeanour. The centre manager is pragmatic and thoughtful. The chef is wonderful and cooks all kinds of delicacies for the children. Our daughter is so happy at the centre, has made many friends and is thriving in the environment created by the Phillip Street staff. We feel really blessed to have enrolled our daughter here and would (and do!) recommend it to all families!

Our son has been enrolled in the nursery since the start of this year (at 12 months) and I can’t give enough praise for this centre and their carers! The centre is vibrant and clean and so well kept, so many activities and toys, he has a ball. The carers are incredible and my son practically leaps from my arms each morning to go and play - he has made amazing friends and they provide daily photos and updates. Really can’t speak highly enough of our positive experience with the Phillip St team

Our 14 month old daughter has been attending casually at the centre since she was 11 months old and despite not attending regularly, is always happy to attend and has a great time thanks to the excellent staff.

Rhiannon the centre manager is very efficient and responsive on email communication.

The nursery room staff are wonderful: they really get to know each child and follow individual sleep/feed etc routines. The thought and effort that goes into planing a varies of daily activities is impressive: not just sitting around with toys, but lots of educational (but fun) activities.

The resident chef and daily meals are better than what you could ever make at home.

The physical space is warm and inviting. Low tables and chairs, a very kid-level and calm environment, despite the city location.

The use of the StoryPark app to provide updates and photos on the kids activities at the end of each day (including a summary of their eating, drinking and sleeping) is a great way of having a sense of what your child is getting up to and how they are travelling each day.

But for our work at home arrangements and long commute to the city, we would very happily send our daughter here every day.

Highly recommend Guardian Phillip Street. The centre's wonderful carers took the time to really get to know our daughter, her routine and her interests. Communication with parents is excellent. Lovely indoor and outdoor spaces. Our daughter very much enjoys her time at the centre and we feel comfortable knowing she is being well cared for in a calm, happy environment.

My son joined Phillip Street in early 2021 and in this time, we have come to love this small community. The team are dedicated about quality and consistency, which is reflected across all spaces. There is always a range of learning experiences happening and from the moment my son arrives, to the time he goes home – I can see just how much he is learning each day. The cook provides a range of healthy and tasty meals for the children throughout the day, and often a little take home snack for us busy families as well. The educators share daily updates and write personalised stories for my son, showcasing what he learns, where his interests are and ideas for us to continue on with him at home. Phillip Street has certainly proven to be the right community for us and we highly recommend it for anyone else looking for care and education needs.

Our daughter has been going to the centre when she was 3.5 years old, and it has been a wonderful experience for us.. She has shown improvements in speaking and loves going to the centre. After 3 months there, she can write her own name! She used to have trouble in sitting down and reading books, now she loves reading books! Great outdoor area and most importantly the educators are wonderful, very caring and loving. When our daughter was sick, Helene the centre manager called & checked on us which we really appreciate. I also love the meals are cooked fresh everyday in their own kitchen. Centre is clean, tidy and has great resources. They also take the children out to the state library, botanical garden, martin place and involve families in the children learning experience. I could go on continue writing great things about The Pavilion, I am very glad that our daughter can find a second home while mum and dad are working.. Nothing makes parents more relief than seeing her child is happy and safe, thank you Helene Erin Lisa Lili Lizzy and The Pavilion team in making that happen :)

Our daughter has been at this centre for over a year and absolutely loves attending each day. The range and quality of activities that the kids undertake is great and its evident that they are planned around learning and development theory. The carers are wonderful with the kids (and parents) and I can trust that my little one will be well taken care of each day.

We are extremely happy with Guardian Phillip Street and are so happy we chose this centre for our daughter. The educators are calm, capable, creative and kind, and the range of activities offered, and the love and support shown to our daughter has been exemplary. The leadership at the centre is also excellent.

I strongly recommend the service to any parents working in the city. The quality of care has been excellent and our son, albeit very young, seemed to enjoy every moment of it. Educators also take the time to write personal notes about each child on Storypark (platform for parents) at the end of each day, which is very thoughtful.

Great care and attention at this daycare. Consistent updates provided with learning-focused outcomes and guides. Community felt engagement with parents and the local area. Definitely recommend to any parent.

Our daughter has been a part of the Guardian family for just under 2 years. The carers at the Phillip St centre treat every child with overwhelming love and respect. We highly recommend this centre.

I have both a toddler and a preschooler at this school. The educators are all extremely kind to the children and my kids love exploring the city on their many excursions. Would highly recommend to anyone working or living in the area. They have new initiatives constantly (such as learning Spanish with the kids), which also makes the daycare exceptional.

Our son has been at Guardian Philip street since the start of 2020. We have been impressed at how quickly it became his second home and how easily he bonded with the staff and other children. The educators are professional, accessible and transparent. We have also appreciated their total support in our decision to use cloth nappies. Would definitely recommend.

Our daughter has been here once a week between the ages of approximately 9 and 14 months. It’s an amazing child care service - so much better than the one she goes to near our house which is unfortunately so much more convenient! Cannot rate this centre highly enough. We had a smooth transition from previous centre for our two little girls who settled in really well without much difficulties, educators are amazing and very caring. clean facility and big outdoor area for children which's hard to find in the city!

My daughter started at Phillip St when she was 11 months. The staff are wonderful. They are attentive and kind and provide her with many opportunities to try new things, paint, sing and play. She is always happy to be there :)

I honestly can't give enough praises to this childcare centre!
SInce the beginning of our journey, with my daughter starting care at only 6 months, the team of educators have gone above and beyond for me and my family. They are so dedicated and even check in on the children's progress on their days off work.
I think they realised straight away that me - as a first-time-mum -would need a lot more guidance/attention than my 6 month old daughter would. I am still breastfeeding and throughout the past months the educators have made sure i always have a quiet spot to feed my baby and they give me a call each day to let me know when she is up for her lunchtime feed.
Additionally we also get daily posts and pictures on the storypark app and the occasional one-on-one video all visible to my family abroad who absolutely love feeling part of our daughter's journey in the centre on the other side of the world.
She is absolutely thriving and so incredibly stimulated every single day. We simply cannot give her the same attention and learning experiences at home and feel very humbled by all the love and one-on-one cuddles our little girl receives every day.
I truly cannot recommend this centre and their dedicated loving management, chef and educators highly enough.

The team at the centre are absolutely lovely and my son always has the best time at daycare!
