The ambience was amazing from entry to exit. I absolutely adored the attention to detail with the decor from the choice of lamps, brick ceiling to look underground, frames for photos to the candles. The service was great and so friendly, the waiter gave great suggestions and was very interactive throughout the night. The food was perfection! I’ve never had a steak better than what I enjoyed here and the entrees/starters were amazing with perfectly combined flavours. An absolute 10/10

What a gem. We managed to book a spot at bistecca and this must be one of the best places I've been to in Sydney the past 7 years. The quality of the food is incredible and service top-notch.

Experience was well worth it, food and service was excellent. Loved the bar, edible candle and perfect t-bone. Must have is the bone marrow crust entree, we ordered another one, it was so good. Brussel sprouts is a must have side.

No phone policy was weird but exciting at the same time. One choice of meat, choose your size and your sides which are so tasty

Located near Wynyard station, this is an amazing quiet spot for a special dinner. They only serve T-bone steaks but they are amazingly done. You can also order sides and all tasted great. Service and venue was also great (they also make you put your phones away in a draw while eating). One call out is that you need to book a few weeks in advance before you go. Recommended.

Wonderful experience and food, can't wait to visit again!

Ushered into the dining room where we promptly placed our phones and other belongings in a locked box, we had the front seats to watch steaks being sawed and cooked on the grill. We were served our drinks (mmm), given an edible candle with some mop bread, while we decided on the gnocci to start (delicious), 800g of the steak (medium-rare and sliced up) for us two to share (so so delicious!) with gratin on the side, and the Tiramisu (so tasty) to end. We were so full and satisfied by the end.

Easy to get last minute noon reservations for lunch time. Their bread and butter was unique, a candle melts the butter. They say phones are not allowed because they want you to enjoy the foodand you're supposed to put it in a box so all these other reviewers with food pictures are breaking rules 😤 They slice the t bone steaks and cook it close to all the tables so you can see them at work which was cool. Got our steak medium rare and it was amazing. Best Florentine style steak I've ever had. Since the cuts are thick, they're harder to cook correctly and are generally more on the rare side so bravo to Bistecca. Highly recommended for a good t bone steak

An exceptional experience from the moment you enter. You feel like you are entering a special place.
We started with some delicious hand crafted drinks expertly mixed by Zack.
We then moved into the dining area. Again, it felt like we were in for something special. Their menu is basically beautifully cut and perfectly cooked Florentine steaks. Thick cut with the bone, meant to be shared by the table. For 6 people, we had 2 kg. Keep in mind this includes the bone. Along with meat is an extensive list of side dishes including salad, potatoes, vegetables... All interesting, and delicious. Nothing overly complicated or pretentious, just pure, simple good food.

Our sommelier , Sheila was always there to help us make the right choices. We had a couple of great bottles of Italian reds.

And something special they did made sure that we were all engaged and talking to each other, laughing and sharing the moment. Bravo to you! I wish more restaurants did this.

All in all, one of my favorite dining experiences ever.

Love the atmosphere and decor. The entire experience from entering through the fire exit in the back alley, to waiting in the bar area, to entering the dining room and locking up our phones. The theatre of the beef fat candle and open kitchen was great.

Staff relaxed and attentive making you feel very welcome.

Food was top notch and I think their prices are very reasonable.

Stopped here for lunch on the weekend - probably the best steak of my life.

As others have said, this is the full experience. Expect it to take a few hours, the service, food and wine was all excellence.

One of the best dining experiences I have had in a long long time I’ve been twice in the last month. It was consistently excellent and I’ll be back again.
Intuitive staff, superb food, cocktails were brilliant, overall just such a wow.

Best steak!! Have the bone marrow. They recommended the perfect size steak for 2 no upselling. At the time of ordering I did think it was a bit much and asked if we could take it home if we couldn’t eat it all and the server said yes. No way was there left overs! I will be back.

We really enjoyed the experience and meal on our anniversary. The only criticism was for the cocktails. The two cocktails sounded much more complex but in reality were quite simple when we finally got our drinks. They're far too expensive for what they were....but other than that, the steak was fantastic. Next time I'll stick with your wines and beer selection for drinks. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

Have been trying to get a sitting at Bistecca for quite some time now and our first dining experience last night did not disappoint! You’ve lived up to to all the hype and we will certainly come back for more! Thanks to all the wonderful staff for creating such a great experience.

This place is exceptional. I’ve dined here twice now and it only gets better and better.

Obviously, you come here for the meat and wine. It is just superb. Let the chef cook it the way it’s intended to be eaten, sit back, sip a wine, have a side and do your best to wait patiently. The wait is absolutely worth it.

The service is fantastic. The ambiance is just right and the no phones policy is a real treat. Other restaurants should adopt this although it’s not hugely popular with some of the younger crowd.

If you need help navigating the wine list, it’s extensive, just ask. The sommelier is well versed in the list and she will help you find the perfect drop that fits your budget.

Take your time at Bistecca and savour every moment. I can’t wait to go back.

For the boys, you could easily polish off a 600-700g cut for yourself. Go large or not at all.

I’ve returned here multiple times and without fail, I am blown away! Hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had - the perfect balance of delicious food, incredible service and a laid back environment full of ambience and personality. Would recommend this to any meat eater out there as the finest Sydney has to offer!

Bistecca had come highly recommended by quite a few of my friends but it still did not disappoint. Food was sensational steak unsurpassed and the service was excellent … fun knowledgeable and chilled. Great music too . Love the phones in boxes. This is a must visit

I’ve been trying to go here for years .. very hard to get a booking however totally worth it when you can. It was my first time going for my birthday & it was the best restaurant I’ve been to. Casey the smellier was great. The food, atmosphere & service was next to none. The best steak I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to go again.
