Alfredo Authentic Italian Restaurant & Underground Cocktail Bar

We came here for dinner on a Saturday evening and the place was very busy; almost every table was booked. The ladies serving our table were welcoming and friendly.

Food wise, we ordered the antipasto della casa (selection of cold meats, bocconcini cheese, and pickles) for appetizer which was decent. For mains, we got the melanzane ripiene (pasta, ricotta and pesto wrapped in eggplants and ham) which was so tasty, and the spaghetti with tomatoes and fresh mix seafood which was also very delicious. For someone like myself who doesn’t particularly enjoy Italian cuisine, it was a delight.

The atmosphere was very nice that evening, the restaurant was warmly lit and felt very cozy. There were several birthdays, and everyone was singing for the birthday people.

Visited this restaurant on a friend's recommendation and what a delightful experience! Nestled just a short walk from Circular Quay, it's quite the hidden gem. We didn't make a reservation, but luck was on our side as we secured a cozy spot in the bar section downstairs. We'd heard rave reviews about their traditional Italian cuisine, and boy, they didn’t disappoint!

Our octopus starter was sensational and perfectly cooked. As for the pastas, we tried two; the penne with a creamy white sauce, spinach, and scallops was an absolute showstopper! The ravioli with a red sauce was delicious as well. For our main, we opted for the lamb legs, which were succulent and cooked to perfection. A culinary journey I'd happily embark on again!

We walked in just before they closed and the kitchen was nice enough to still prepare our meals.
The food was so good and the service was outstanding too.

"Cosy little Italian establishment tucked away in the heart of the Sydney CBD. It has history & you can sense it the moment you walk in. This is a fantastic traditional Italian restaurant. The service is speedy, the food is fresh and perfectly flavoured. Every dish that was served looked spectacular, every dish I ordered was perfect, it hit the spot. Highly recommend the pistachio cheesecake. Family owned & run, thats how you are treated. Have done many Italian all over Sydney, this place is definitely a hole in the wall, its the best of both worlds. This is like having fine dining at home. Just to reiterate you need pizza to have fabulous Italian By far the best Italian in Sydney, Bravo"

Stumbled upon this restaurant completely out of the blue by looking around on Google Maps, and so glad that I did!

The restaurant looked like something out of a New York movie, it was very cute! The staff were also very attentive.

Loved the food, felt very authentic and full of flavour. So keen to come back here and try the tiramisu!

Great atmosphere and food.
Very enjoyable dinner, enhanced with traditional dinner piano music.
Enjoyed creamy potato leek soup, rack of lamb, and a homemade pasta with ricotta cheese and basil wrapped in prosciutto and eggplant. Delicious!!!

Had an absolutely delightful time at Alfredo. Their selection of exquisite Italian dishes, including pesto pasta, bruschetta, and gnocchi, was simply outstanding. The desserts were equally impressive. Already looking forward to my next visit. Alfredo truly made my evening memorable.❤

Absolutely brilliant food. Friendly staff and wonderful service. The Pansotti di Fagiano alla Toscana is to die for.

Excelente Italian restaurant performed by real Italians! The food was excellent and one of the best rack of lambs that I ever ate. Everything was perfect!

I almost forgot I wasn’t in Italy. The food here was amazing and the pianist was so talented, we actually kept ordering because we didn’t want to leave. We had a mixture of the specials of the day and from the menu but everything was lovely.
Very busy though so book in advance or walk in early.

Perfect cosy spot for authentic with high quality Italian cuisine. It was a romantic date🌹The well curated menu made it easy to pick a meal (only complaint is the menus are physically too large to hold). Creamy pasta was delicious!

I ate here with my group every day for a week. We tried most of the menu and wines and there is a reason we kept going back. The food is very authentic, delicious and high quality. The staff are very friendly and if your lucky there may be a pianist to set the mood. I would recommend this place to anyone. I've been all across Sydney and it's one of my favourite Italian restaurants

me and snoops went to visit for a late dinner and it was one of the best meals i've had this year. waitress recommended the pansotti with pheasant and butter gratin sauce and it was splendid since i usually do seafood. perfect creamy flavour without being too overwhelming, lovely brulee on the sauce, good and filling. it's on the pricier side of my budget but will definitely come with friends for an occasion and order dessert!!!

Great hidden gem. Didn’t know what to expect. Pleasantly surprised staff very friendly . We enjoyed the happy hour cocktails. While we waited for the kitchen to open and we enjoyed. The bartender surprise cocktail was great, we tried several variations of this one.
Didn’t have a main meal however will return next time

This was a wonderful venue and wonderful dining experience. We were a little concerned about being underdressed (just casual day wear to explore Sydney) and the venue looked fine dining. The staff, though, were great: pleasant, friendly, and relaxed while remaining very professional and providing that air of fine dining. The head waiter (?) was excellent and provided projected that sense of class the restaurant was aiming for, yet making the patrons feel at ease. It was a casual fine dining experience. The food was delicious. We were craving some good Italian cuisine and the restaurant delivered. The antipasto della casa had some exciting cold meats and the bocconcini added a good contrasting texture and flavour. We ordered bread separately but should have realised bread would also be served with the antipasto. Fortunately, the bread tasted great and didn't fill us up. The ravioli of the day was lamb and was delicious - well cooked pasta, tender lamb. The ravioli sauce was amazing. My partner enjoyed her delicious penne con broccoli e gamberi. We also ordered the English spinach salad. This too was great and there was a lot of it (I thought it could do with some thin slices of pear or apple for the sweetness to offset the spinach because it was a large serving of spinach to get through but that's no big deal). Price point was good, especially for the quality and enjoyment of the meal. Venue was cosy and warm; and the staff were great.

Authentic Italian food. Loved the stuffed eggplants. You have to try the desserts, if you can, all of them! Not a lot of vegetarian options but they did the eggplants without meat for me. The atmosphere is lovely, especially downstairs. A bit pricey but I guess it is fair considering the location and the actual good food.

What amazing dinner 🍽 in this Italian cuisine restaurant, their food is yummy 😋 and I also enjoy the white wine what we drink this night. Actually I want to drink Italy 🇮🇹 white wine but they sold out and replaced by French Provence rose wine, and I love this rosé wine 🍷

Simply the best Italian I've ever tasted. Can't recommend enough. Sooo delicious. Excellent service, lovely pianist playing in the background. All in a cool old building with a great vibe.
We ordered the Pheasant ravioli and Eggplant melanzane....they were both incredible.
There is also an attachment bar underneath the restaurant with happy hr from 5-7pm.

Beautiful soft and rich gnocchi, medium rare lamb was served soft and piping hot! (Needed a pinch more salt for my tastes, but pretty perfect regardless!)

Beautiful atmosphere, music was tasteful and filled the room nicely. 10/10 I'll be back!

Love the venue, food was really hearty Italian with great portions. Great service too
