I want to say how great this hospital is. I presented with chest pains was looked after very quickly on a busy period . Thankfully some one in ER decided I needed a CT scan., From this other issues were found and processes escalated. All the staff involved from the ER to the nurses and the Specialists were brilliant.compassionate and professional. I really believe that this hospital and it’s personal are greatly underrated and unappreciated.

I spent over fifty days in hospital after breaking my lumbar spine. I cannot praise the staff (nursing cleaning catering allied etc) enough. I was so well cared for the entire time. I was even allowed to have my miniature dog visit. Would recommend it to anyone.

Over the past few months I have been in and out of several hospitals , both regionally and in the city and as both a private patient and a public patient.
I would like to say that the Bairnsdale hospital is definitely the best including all members of staff and areas of work. The hospital has a cleaning service second to none where everything is cleaned and sanitised every day. The cleaning staff were delightful and went out of their way to assist in any way whilst still being professional. The meals were much better than those that I had been given at the private hospital I was in. Also a cooked breakfast every morning. Unheard of in a public hospital. And when I received it, it was hot including the toast. The meal staff including the morning, afternoon and supper staff were really lovely and friendly. The supper lady knew I loved my jelly and she would go out of her way to get me two jelly’s every night.
The nursing staff were amazing and they took care to give care and I felt well looked after at all times. I never had to wait long to have my buzzer answered(less than a minute) and they all were so lovely and always answered my incessant questions. They were truly angels of care.
The doctors were prepared to listen as they said that I knew my own body better than they did. I felt very confident in talking to them. They even rang me after my discharge to tell me that my blood results had shown something amiss and that they would arrange for a script to be filled out for me to pick up. On another instance a lovely lady doctor came to visit me on a Sunday afternoon to tell me that I needed a iron infusion.
I had to wait for oxygen to arrive before being discharged and the oxygen couldn’t be delivered for a few days. The hospital was happy for me to stay until it arrived.

The pharmacy was ever so helpful and made sure that I understood everything she was trying to explain. She even had all my medications done up the day before so I wouldn’t have to wait for hours. Thank you for that.
Overall it was the best hospitalisation I have ever experienced. Thank you one and all at the Bairnsdale hospital. You are all ever so amazing. You all deserve five out of five stars. You made me well and spoilt me in the process. I can’t thank you all enough for how you cared for me.

I found myself in the ED and ‘short stay’ department of Bairnsdale Hospital after a bit of a medical emergency and while there was the wait time, poking and measuring, and the standard things that go along with a hospital visit, the staff and care was very attentive to me while I awaited patient transport. I am very grateful for the care I received.

My wife suffered a fall whilst on holidays at Lakes Entrance. She hurt her knees in this accident. I rushed her to Bairnsdale Hospital and she was admitted for her injuries to be investigated. I would like to thank the administration, triage nurses , other nurses , doctors and other support staff in this hospital for their great service and friendliness that they gave to us in this difficult time. A very impressive effort from all there. It left us with fond and pleasant memories of their medical service that they provided to us.

My 100 y.o father recently passed away at BRHS after a short stay in palliative care. I would like to thank the nurses and doctors that attended to him for your care and compassion. The support and communication towards the family from all of the staff was always thorough and caring. He has had a few stays at BRHS over the years and we have always found the same level of care everytime. THANK YOU

My wife and I as support recently spent nearly 4 weeks in Flanagan Ward. The professionalism and compassion of all staff was outstanding.
The dedication and thoughtfulness of the nursing, kitchen and physio staff was beyond expectation! Well done Mel and staff!

My experience attending BRHS's Emergency Department recently was just what I have come to expect from Victoria's public hospitals. All of the nurses from Triage to the 'Short Stay' unit were kind, caring, and professional. The doctor who attended to me was first rate, thorough, and very thoughtful. Thank you Dr Al-mulla, and all of the staff who took such good care of me.

Although I had been feeling vulnerable and anxious prior to day surgery, I found the whole experience easy going. Staff were excellent, chatty and reassuring. I came away thinking how lucky we are in Australia and East Gippsland to have free high quality care available. Gold star experience.

I cant appreciate enough the Bairnsdale hospital specialy Simon and Briany from the Paramedic department. I faced an emergency medical condition on my way from Melbourne to camping. We called the ambulance. Simon and Briany got there the soonest possible. They did all the urgent tests required on the spot and then they took me to the hospital. They also stayed with me in hospital and took the best care till a room was available for me. Thanks to the doctor, the nurses and Simon and Briany. I will appreciate you guys for ever.

Thank you to all the Emergency Dept staff for the care, attention, interest and assurance given to my wife following a fall. From Triage, to the wonderful Dr Hussein, Nurse Gemma and all others, you cared so much and made sure she was well looked after. We are blessed to have services such as this. We were from out of town and treated so well. Thank you all. Regards, Richard Catchlove

Good place i think. At lot of people complain about brhs and say hospitals closer to Melbourne are better but everyone in orbost complains about their hospital and think bairnsdales is so much better. But I just think we should all be grateful we can go to any hospital and get world class healthcare
