Libertine Restaurant & Cocktail Bar

I haven’t had a chance to write about this yet perhaps it’s because I was a bit overwhelmed with emotion and perhaps because I was so used to experiencing an air of discrimination when dining with a small very loud human who arrives to any venue with endless stims and a very loud iPad presence.

A couple of weeks ago we wanted to do something special to farewell our long term support worker who moved up to Brisbane with us to help Charlie settle in to his new life.

We walked around and no venue felt quite right for such an occasion (lots of burger places).

Eventually we ended up at the Barracks and walked into a place we had thought we might pursue as a date night - but never a family occasion - especially our noisy little family.

As soon as we walked in to Libertine there were two things that were apparent - it was classy and refined as to be expected but also it was extremely comfortable. The wonderful human that helped us throughout the night was immediately intuitive finding us a comfortable table to sit out with enough room for Charlie to stretch up and enjoy himself - sufficiently away from first dates but also close enough for us all to enjoy the beautiful historic building we were immersing ourselves in. Our new friend began by engaging Charlie and asking what he would like - to which Charlie replied “chocolate milkshake and potato”. There were no chocolate milkshakes on the menu but at that point suddenly there were and within minutes our little human was immediately satisfied - milkshake after milkshake appeared as well as all the potato he could dream of and some recommendations for some mild things he might like - which surprisingly were a big hit.

Our palates were not disappointed either, fine wine and a banquet of vibrant French-Vietnamese flavours.

We chose the “I’m hungry” banquet - Hiramasa Kingfish Ceviche, BBQ Duck Crepe, Lamb Boulettes, Truffled Brussel Sprouts, Pork Belly - the food just coming and coming.

It was a perfect night, perfect food and perfect interaction to ensure that my family was catered for - a splendid example of disability inclusion.

That wasn’t the end of it either - on receiving our bill the restaurant had taken a significant portion off as we are locals now and they wanted to welcome us to the neighbourhood.

It’s this type of hospitality that has been part of how our lives have changed - kindness , warmth and support to celebrate in simple ways like with a moment to enjoy all the food and drink we could crave. We will definitely be back to Libertine some time soon and I honestly feel like we’ve won the lotto.

This time last year our lives were all about hospital walls and clinical interactions - I would never had dreamed would could be out at a refined French restaurant with Charlie just living our best life.

I recently dined at libertine, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance was cozy yet elegant, setting the perfect mood for a special evening. The service was impeccable; the staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The food satisfied the expectations and was excellent portions for the price. i recommend visiting on Tuesdays as it has a 7 course meal deal for only $49!

Absolutely amazing service. Lovely atmosphere my husband and I went here for our first Valentine's Day as a married couple for an early Sunday dinner and the place was gorgeous. But mostly the customer service stood out.

The banquet was incredible and the cocktails even better. But the service was what took the cake - our waitress Amanda was incredible from start to finish with knowledgeable recommendations and incredibly friendly service. She made our night!

We recently had the pleasure of dining with our two teenage daughters for dinner at Libertine. A highlight of course is undoubtedly its delicious, fresh food. The menu offers a wide variety of French - Vietnamese dishes that are beautifully presented; every dish is bursting with flavour and made with the finest ingredients.

The service is nothing short of exceptional. Matt and his team were friendly, attentive, and willing to go the extra mile to make our dining experience fun and memorable. Very knowledgeable about the menu and could provide helpful recommendations.

Love the set menus, it’s like a surprise packages, delicious foods just come out without you sort of knowing exactly what you’re going get.

Service is fantastic, our wait staff were friendly and cracked a bit jokes with us.

Treated like absolute royalty for my mother’s birthday dinner, delicious and very tender chicken and pork mains, warm and attentive service and very impressive decor. Wonderful experience and I would recommend this to a friend, the banquet option had not a single disappointing meal and it was great value for an impeccable dining experience! Loved the French/Vietnamese theme as well and everything was just so elegant from start to finish.

We arrived after making an online booking for an anniversary dinner at Libertine's. I had requested a table where we could sit next to each other, and we were offered a private booth which provided a private and intimate setting to our dining experience.

The staff were very friendly and attentive, and were happy to talk to us about all the dishes we ordered. We ordered a range of dishes to try, and we enjoyed very single one. Each dish had a unique set of textures and flavours. The tiger prawn croissants and the pork belly were our favourites. Overall, we had a great evening at Libertine's and we'll definitely return to try more items from the menu.

Went here for our anniversary which is on Valentine’s Day, so we went with the set menu. We were given a booth was a tucked away for some privacy which was lovely. The food was delicious & cocktails divine! Service was a bit slow as it got busier through the night, but the staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant set up and decor is beautiful and nicely lit. Cuisine is French Vietnamese.

came here to celebrate graduating and we got the banquet meal with seven courses - omd so good !! everything was really nice, they also do standard meals but I would say this is the most worthwhile thing to try here because you get to taste a bit of everything rather than one dish. I would say that seven courses is the better banquet option compared to the five or ten, we were all completely stuffed and still had some food leftover. flavours were ✨immaculate✨ and service was amazing, would 100% recommend !

Devine Banquet

Last night I was joined by 11 amazing friends to sample everything this beautiful restaurant has to offer and boy, did it offer!

Incredible food, expertly prepared and perfectly delivered. The conversation flowed as did the drinks and the food, which just kept coming.

If you’re after a hassle-free delicious dinner, this is your destination!

Enjoyed the vegetarian lunch time banquet and would highly recommend! Well presented, generous portions and sensational flavours. Definitely come with an empty stomach!
The restaurant itself is quite opulent and well maintained. Great location with plenty of nearby parking.

The best restaurant in Brisbane, food amazing and the service outstanding. We had lunch in mid June with another couple and they have enjoyed it as well. The portions very generous and the taste fabulous, the staff answered each one of our queries patiently and with a smile. Highly recommend

Libertine is amazing! From the food to the service.. everything was magnificent. I would definitely recommend trying their banquet menu. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are friendly and helpful. We will certainly be visiting again!

This is our annual Valentine's dinner spot. New menu is better than the last time we were here. Service was slow at the beginning but we received free cocktails for the delay which made it all worth it. Great service from our waiter. Ceviche and Moreton Bay bug toast were the winners of the banquet.

What a delightful find. Went here with a group of mothers for a night out. Amazing cocktails. Delicious food. Flavours were fresh. We shared a number of dishes but there were options for various prices banquets available. The staff were attentive and informative. A really enjoyable experience. Parking is available underneath for a fee, if you book online you save quite a bit so would recommend doing this. Definitely will be returning.

Went for a vegetarian banquet experience. We weren't disappointed. We had a 7 course vegetarian. Struggled to finish it by the end. But each and every dish was wonderful. The sauces, salads, crepe etc.. Everything was wonderful. Ambience is nice and romantic. Ideal for a date. The service by Kevin was wonderful from start to finish. Very professional, polite and accommodated all our requirements, legend! Loved the experience and would definitely want to do it again.

Everything was top notch. Service was friendly and prompt. The food and drinks were amazing! We loved the 5 course banquet. Plenty of food to fill you up at a reasonable price.

My wife and I came here for a romantic dinner and it did not disappoint! We noted that we wanted romantic seating, and we got seated in a cozy little alcove. The lighting was low and on-point, and the staff were attentive (at the right times) and friendly.

We ordered the 7-course banquet, and it was exquisite. The Vietnamese French fusion flavours completed each other perfectly. We especially enjoyed the lamb dumplings, and the chicken stir fry. The combination of flavours in the chicken & Brie stir fry was to die for.

If you’re not on a budget and looking for a nice, romantic dinner, Libertine is a spot you have to try.
