Thar Indian Restaurant

Had dinner there last night, it’s one of the best Indian I had in Sydney, hands down.
Only negative note was that the wine glasses weren’t clean (you could see wine residues at the bottom of the glass) so I didn’t order any wine but had lemon lime bitter instead.
I attached the photos of two entrees we got, I forgot to take pics of the rest but I would recommend the goat korma, really really good

Foods were ordered mildly, and came to table piping hot and very flavorful. Eggplant masala was very eggplant forward, not overpowered by tomato and other things. Saag shrimp was superb - spinach fresh, and shrimps cooked perfectly. A miss was Achari Tikka chicken, which while was juicy and flavorful, it was like a chicken Tikka.

Overall experience =Really nice.
Food yummy ( but portions rather small) my vegetable corma felt a bit spicy, but perhaps it depends on the region the chef comes from...butter chicken delicious. Relaxed ambience with soft music in the background, and a complementary dessert was a lovely touch. Thank you. I will be back to try more of your dishes

Great choice of Naan breads. Very extensive food menu overall. Internal decor is more on the upscale side rather than casual but not too over the top. Fast and friendly service with a smile and delicious food.

Had an excellent meal here last night. The best Indian I've been to in Australia so far. It was as close to a UK standard as we've found. All food was delicious and the staff were friendly - we will definitely return.

Probably the best Indian restaurant for your indian taste buds in Sydney.
We are from brisbane and i can assure you those restaurants cannot even be compared to the food they provide here in Thar.
We had mirch pyaaz kulcha, veg jalfrazi, and vegetable biryani, trust me all of them were unimaginably tasty.
Experience in the restaurant was fantastic from start to end. Food was hot and service was very quick.
I Highly recommend Thar indian restaurant.

My girlfriend and I chose this place for the good reviews and we are so glad we did. Best Indian food we have had in a very long time! EVERYTHING was divine. A must try if you are on this side of the bridge! Special thanks to Arham for making the night even better with his humour and kindness. We will be back again!!

Had the dal tadka and aloo gobi. Both were excellent and the aloo gobi was the best we’ve ever had in Sydney. The service is exquisite: efficient and attentive but unobtrusive. Highly recommended!

One of my favourite Indian restaurants with a variety in menu options and is open til late. Food and service is great, Arham looked after us and made sure our needs were met.

This place was amazing and I think that the atmosphere, service and food were the best that I have ever tasted.

Honestly the best Saag I've had in Sydney. We had the butter chicken, beef saag and goan fish curry, all were so delicious and fresh. Will be back here.

Thar Indian is located in the busy upmarket Neutral Bay. Open all days with varying timings. They routinely update menu and timings here on Google.
Coming to the food, it is Uh-maiz-zinggg, finger smacking good. We ordered Bhuna Chicken, Goan fish curry and chicken tandoori malai, jeera rice & cheese garlic naan. Papadums & Mango lassi was on the house. Extremely tasty.
The review can’t end without mention of 2 people - Hotel Manager - Rohit Joshi (RoJo) and Associate - Tina. Great guys as they take extra special care of all the guests. RoJo would help you choose the best dish depending on your taste and appetite and a drink to go with it. It is a kids friendly place and the duo makes it all the more comfortable. There is no reason why we wouldn’t go ♾

My daughter craved for Indian chat at 745pm and wasn't in a mood to drive all the way to western suburbs ( harris park Parramatta). So decided to try out thar indian restraunt.

We had aloo tikki chat and papdi chat, both were sumptuous, great quality and quantity.

I must say Outstanding customer experience by the staff (extremely courteous and genuinity) and delicious food.

Definetly try this place out. If you happen to be around neutral bay.

They also served papadams complementary. Icing on the cake ;)

Our favourite place for butter chicken and paneer curries, food always arrives well packaged and portion sizes are good too.
