Susuru Ramen & Gyoza

It’s located on the side of the road. Easy to spot due to the bright yellow interiors. Plenty of seating available inside. Parking can be a bit difficult as it is a very Commercial Street and there’s time restricted street parking.
Service is amazing and the staff are very friendly and considerate. They were willing to stay open longer just so we could order as we reached about five minutes before their closing time. The ramen also is really flavourful and the quantity is quite large.

Found via tiktok suggestion and had to check it out. Booked a table via google which was super easy. Was seated straight on our arrival. Loads of options and the kids were thrilled with their meals. I was given a complimentary glass of wine as it was mothers day which was absolutely lovely 😊 will definitely be back! The tonkotso ramen was delicious

As I sit here barely able to move, another feast consumed, out of breath from slurping, I think about how I look forward to do it all again next week. I’m an addict. There, I admit it! I don’t know what they put in the broth, but it’s the most delicious, heart warming soul food. I eat Susuru a least once or twice a week, take away, dine in, Uber eats, the situation doesn’t take away from its scrumptious flavour. 10/10 always, would recommend.

Still stands strong as one of my favorite places in Newcastle. Good food, good beer and great service.

Yum! Great ramen!!! I always get the traditional broth (Tonkotsu). If it's a cold day get warm sake with your ramen.

The food was excellent, however, not cheap and small portions of ramen. I understand that it's hard to compare to Sydney but just for reference for those wondering, a ramen can be had on average from $16-$20. Their price of $22 isn't far off, but the servings in Sydney are 50% larger in noodle serving and broth. Still deserves 5 stars because the taste was spot on and absolutely delicious, the toilets were clean, the staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean. Will definitely be back, but not as regular as I would like due to value.

Have returned so many times for the ramen. Fresh, tasty and delicious broth and I the servings are generous considering the price. Good vegan options. Staff were wonderful, friendly and efficient. Service was great, food was delivered within reasonable time.

Whenever we drive home from Sydney we have to stop into Susuru because they do the best ramen!

Unexpected to see a yummy and tasty ramen here in Newie, so good... order from your phone or the counter, the waitress did not let us know when we arrived, we waited a while thinking the waitress will come to take our order, but lucky we ask, and it did not take long for the ramen and gyoza to come to our table.
Prices were okay, and also ask their lunch special price.

Fantastic gyoza and takoyaki. Ramen was perfect portion, served hot and relatively quick. Flavours of the broth, egg, seaweed, bamboo and chicken worked well but should have opted for corn. Incredible staff! By far the best service of any place we've been to recently.

This restaurant has the best Gyoza and Ramen I have EVER eaten.
Their fried chicken is also really good and they also offer DESSERT gyoza! I highly recommend that one as well.

Food is wonderful and the service is also wonderful. We only had one item missing from out meal but we weren't too fussed on it. They were supper busy so it was expected from any place. We just asked for it and got it as take out. Very kind and very funky atmosphere almost like bladerunner esk or high tech dystopian futuristic. Also kind of reminded me of the game exit 8 with the yellows and the tiles. 5/5 any day.

Great service. Food came out quick and hot, it was yummy and flavourful! I didn’t get a photo of my meal because I was too interested in eating, whoops.
The music wasn’t too loud or too quiet. Love.

We dined at Susuru last night for only the second time.
I must say, my memory from my first dining experience was somewhat ordinary however, the meal I had last night was a taste sensation.
I ordered the Shoyu Ramen and my son had Spicy Miso Butter Ramen.
We both though our meals were incredibly tasty, fresh and delicious.
We were surprised at how delicious the marinated egg was and neither of us could stop eating the salted, pickled ginger. Oh that ginger is divine.
The staff were happy, polite, helpful and accomodating. They were more than happy to bring us cardboard takeaway bowls to put the remaining half of our meal in as they are quite generous serves.
The atmosphere is unique but comfortable and relaxing.

Excellent ramen, and the gyozo is pretty tasty! Karaage wings are fantastic and you get heaps of them.
The restaurant is very trendy looking, super modern and the staff are super friendly.
They also have some good deals on beverages.

The place is adorable. It’s very authentic Japanese - full of quirks. I’ve traveled to Japan and tasted the food there and this is absolutely on par. Rich in flavor and great sizes. Highly recommend the tonkotsu ramen and the karage chicken.
