Very busy but still good service. It can be hard for staff to keep smiling when busy. These guys deserve more than five stars for their service. The place doesn't have air-conditioning, so it was a bit too hot inside. Regardless, the food was great and is worth trying if you haven't yet.

Probably the best coffee shop in Newcastle. Great atmosphere, tasty coffee and amazingly interesting menu, including desserts. Popular coffee shop in Mayfield for sure and pretty crowded most of the time. Which is understandable. Venue doesn't do bookings, so you just have to come in and wait for a table. There is free parking available on site as well.

Absolutely sensational!!! These guys have taken a simple breakfast and elevated it to an incredible taste and visual experience!!! Everything was on point from ambience to service and food!!! Do yourself a favour and have a meal at Equium!!! You will not be disappointed!

The menu is always fantastic, there's sparkling water and Kombucha in the self serve water station! The staff are super friendly and cute too! Prices are very reasonable for what you get and the serious freshness of the salads and veg scream local with high turnover. We agreed we could watch them cook those incredible eggs for hours! So much love and care 💖

Had a wholesome breakfast at Equium today.. this place was on the top of my list of places to visit whilst in Newcastle and I’m so grateful I made it. Staff were some of the friendliest in town, very hospitable and providing some suggestions for what to eat.. glad I took the waitresses opinion and ordered the hash as it was exactly what I wanted and needed! I got extra bacon and a poached egg and I left feeling very full up. Everything was fresh and tasty, clearly some good quality local produce used. The house blend coffee was also the best I’ve had in town. I will definitely return!

Very interesting menu, choices of food and drink to pick from. The fusion, Western food & Asian. Plenty of space, not crowded, easy to access for wheelchair and pram. Toilets facility is good for baby and disability as well. Nice simple decoration. Food is delicious, we have ordered Dosa and Kimchi Pancake..Latte , Energize tea and Muffin. The portion of food is perfect for me (if you are a big eater, it might be small for you, however, keep room for some dessert 😃)

Delicious food of Asian fusion to the typical breakfast was amazing!! Great service and heaps of toilets. Great place to go with friends and family the meals are large portions worth the price. Coffee was perfect

Visit Newcastle regularly and finally managed a visit, great coffee and food. Banana was definitely made with some love.
Looking forward to a return visit.

Arrived at 10 am on a Sunday morning with a short wait to sit. I would recommend not to sit at the bar if they offer it - it's right in front of the pasty window and the water taps so you always have people coming up behind/next to you.

Ordered the Ricotta Hotcakes and the Chook Roll (which was actually a burger) - both were delicious.

Parking can be tough if it's busy as you don't get a spot close. It's all on street parking with no spots on Maitland Road, so gets full very quick.

Good vibe cafe, nice food, best coffee👍👍 highly recommend

Inspired menu and great coffee.
I’ve been here a few times and never been disappointed with anything I’ve ordered. From a basic eggs on toast to a warm winter salad everything is tasty and delicious. The place is always incredibly busy so be prepared for a short wait.
Prices are as you would expect for a trendy cafe which is slightly on the steep end but no different to any other cafe in the area.

Top tier cafe meal. I haven't experienced anything like the Kimchi pancake in Sydney, the haloumi with herbs went well with it

I didn’t go here for a long time because when people spoke about it, it didn’t seem like my kind of vibe, but… I was sooooo wrong. Food and drinks were immaculate and the atmosphere was comfortable. We got seated even though it was busy, staff were organised. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Newcastle. Thanks for having us!

Fantastic quirky spot for a cuppa or meal. So many unusual things to choose from, you won't be dissapointed. I'd highly recommend trying the cocoa drink with mushroom base, sounds odd, is utterly divine. 😋😋

Must remember to come here on a morning when I’m having breakfast!! The few times I’ve been has just been for coffee - great coffee. The menu looks great - will be back to try some of the dishes.

Went for breakfast, stayed for lunch! It’s my Newcastle go-to now! The staff are so great! Amazing coffee and the seasonal menu is both exciting and super tasty.

Local fav! Such tasty all day breakfast menu. Lots of space indoors and outdoors. Friendly staff and great tunes!

The chook roll is UNBELIEVABLE. The chicken was so fresh, crispy with loads of flavour added with slaw, coriander and chilli mayo. The $19 price is a little steep but TOTALLY WORTH IT. My partner and I shared the chook roll in the park on a hot Summer’s day sitting in the shade. My partner said it is THE BEST chicken burger he’s ever had. While I was waiting for the roll and cold drinks, iced latte and iced tea, I picked up a really laid back energy about the place. Old Motown music playing, spacious indoors and bathroom super clean. Next time we will eat in! 😊😋

Beautiful Presentation. Lovely flavours. Exceptional experience. Service was fast considering the line and its cooked from scratch. Scrambled eggs were perfect! Hard to do. Recommend
