I enjoyed my short stay, The view was beautiful, the spa and shower I appreciated. I had a bad day and night. But the salmon was like a design of art straight from the heart on point with the crack of the skin. I was thinking about my family at the time as I was eating the vegetables and when I reached the centre of the dish I could feel love my heart hadn't experiences such a warm loving feeling. I felt emotion like being held for the first time. Thank you. I really wanted to cry. It was what I'd describe as a placement master piece. I was unable to have a second night. Everything comes down to budget and I really just wanted to enjoy a wonderful view have a spa in a clean environment for peace and clarity. I will return again. But next time they won't recognise me. Heart to heart chef!!

Lovely location with harbour views. The rooms are spacious, super clean and well presented, highly recommend dining as well. Staff are courteous and ready to help, valet parking is super handy. Overall a fantastic experience.

Great location helpful staff. At breakfast, the supply of condiments needs addressing. The bulk jars of jam, peanut, Nutella etc doesn't work with a knife. Either have a spoon or individual serves. The in-house parking was a little high , but very good, and I will use it again. The best thing about the shower was the labels on the shampoo conditioner and body wash. Large contrasted labels are white on black. I don't wear my glasses in the shower and could read what each was. Well done.

I stayed 5 nights .
My room had a harbour/street view which was lovely.
The room was clean and modern .
I particularly enjoyed dining at Wharf 350 restaurant and bar . The food was 5 star all the way.
I sampled 5 different mains and 3 different desserts - all were absolutely delicious.
The presentation was beautiful and the service was very good .
You simply can't beat the location - central Newcastle , a 15 minute walk to the beach .
I can't wait to bring my partner to dine here with me .
The pool is heated and was most appreciated after work .

Best place we have ever stayed, polite ,kind and very helpful staff.
Valet parking so good , kitchen staff especially Remy as he helped me so much with my special dietary ends being ceoliac and having egg,nut and certain fruit allergies and he talked to the chef and I gad plenty of choices to pick from.
Food was fantastic ,room for disabled access perfect.

Lovely kind concierge called Michael who helped us with a wheelchair the day of the air show , we under estimated the walking distance from the ferry so we stopped for breakfast at the hotel ( which was very good) my 84 year old father was unable to walk the distance so we asked for wheelchair assistance and Michael helped us. He was so polite and kind we can’t thank him enough . He made a huge difference to our day which otherwise would have had to have been abandoned . The air show was fabulous , a real day to remember ! Thank you again Michael
We will def be coming back to the hotel again but we will be more prepared next year!

We had a conference in the ballroom. The staff were all very helpful with organising the event and were available and supportive during the event.
The menu was great and everyone enjoyed the interesting selection of vegetarian canapes.
The tech worked well, the room was beautifully set up, we were really pleased with everything.

Lovely big room with separate bedroom and living/dining area with TVs in both areas. Lovely big bath, double sinks and nice views over the Harbour - always something to look at.
Nice LARGE pool with a very fun fast water slide. No service at the pool but easy to take cocktails and food in from the bar.
Only valet parking available at 35 a day.
Free access to a massive public gym just around the corner

We spent a week here for a holiday and absolutely loved it. Great central location walking distance to everything and lots of eating options and only a 5 min drive to the beaches. The pool is right on the port/harbour with a waterslide which was a massive hit with the kids. The staff were lovely and our harbour view room was great to watch the tug boats pull the ships in. Street parking is metered from 9-5 and then free after 5pm. Guest can use The Forum gym next door which was a bonus to go to classes. Our balcony was getting repaired and locked so there was nowhere to dry our beach gear but other than that it was a fantastic experience. We will be back!

Great Hotel in a good spot. We stayed in a King Suite with the Harbour View. The rooms were quiet and it was great to be able to just sit and watch the ships come and go. The hotel is on the Riverfront promenade, so there's plenty of places to go walking and lots of restaurants nearby. We took our afternoon walk up to Cooks Hill every day to get some artisanal gelato. A great stay overall.

The staff are genuinely helpful and friendly - they made the stay relaxing and easy. The water views are lovely and the hotel is a quiet place compared to the rest in the city (far enough from pubs and restaurants not to hear the noise but close enough to walk to them). The rooms are generous and clean. Buffet breakfast was nice: tasty omelette and mushrooms and croissants are a standout, plus a great variety of quality tea, although only teabag coffee with coffee machine available at the bar.

We had a large function over 3 days, and the staff at Rydges went above and beyond. Stuart and all the staff were amazing. The food was incredible and plentiful. The location was superb, central to everything, and it was easy to explore the area.

The Rydges Hotel Newcastle is in one of the most picturesque and convenient locations in Newcastle. Located right on the waterfront to Newcastle's iconic working harbour guests with water views can watch ships come in and out of the harbour while in their own comfortable, modern room. Our room on the 4th floor had a separate bedroom, kitchenette and bathroom with bathtub. The service is top quality and attentive while not being intrusive. The hotel has a ground floor restaurant and bar along with a large outdoor pool with water slide 🛝 and kids play area. Getting there was simple on the main train line and light rail 🚈. Offering outstanding value for money for a weekend away this is a great alternative to Sydney for a romantic weekend away or a base to kick on to the Hunter Valley or any of Newcastle's many events!
