AMAZING venue to hold a function!!!

Celebrated my 21st here and it was perfect. Leslie was so accomodating and ensured everything ran smoothly and all the staff were so lovely and friendly. The food & cocktails were beautiful and the venue itself was stunning.

Could not recommend holding a function here more!!! Thanks so much for having us.

I held a friend's Hens/Bucks night at Zzoo on Saturday night. What a perfect venue for a party!! The staff were amazing and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We ordered the Party Platter for the food and everything was delicious!! The best crispy chicken wings that I have ever eaten!! The cocktails were delicious and they allowed a cash bar to make it easier for our group to pay as we went. There was even live music! This is a perfect venue for a party of any size. Thanks Zzoo for making sure we had a wonderful time :)

Great place, sorry about the darkness of the photos. This is a really cool bar and place to eat, lovely vibe, fantastic drinks and tapas and listen to some live music.

Initially thought the proved were on the pricey side but the portions are pretty big and just totally on point. Had the pear salad, baked cheese, squid and lamb ribs, everything was divine, even the salad. Squid was one of the most tender I've had, all of the elements of the salad came together so well, lamb was super moreish, could have kept on going back for more.

Great selection of drinks, loved the cocktails. Had a single singer-guitarist playing music the whole time, she was fantastic, it would have been worth it just to have her playing. Service was friendly, they get a bit busy though so booking especially for a large group is recommended.

Look if there were more than 5 stars i would choose more. What can i say?? Freshest oysters in wollongong. Best hospitality

Amazing. How have I not been here sooner. Cheese, cheese and more cheese . Fantastic vibe and the staff were extremely hospitable. Highly recommended to anyone in the Wollongong area .

Had a great time at Zzoo. The food was delicious, cocktails were tasty and everything was very reasonably priced for being in the middle of Wollongong. The food did take a little while to come out despite the restaurant being quiet, but I'd still go back again! The staff were super friendly too!

My friend had her 30th here. Can't not say how efficient the service was here. She was made to feel relaxed and nothing was a problem.
Since been for lunch and the food is so consistent and good. I'll be back again!

Absolutely amazing restaurant- the food is sensational, staff are super friendly and efficient and the setting is perfect! Thank you to Lucas, Holly and the fabulous George for making us feel so welcome and looked after. Hopefully we’ll meet Jonathon the owner next time. Thanks to the chef for a delicious meal. We can’t wait to come back!!!

The lamb ribs and garlic prawns were delicious. Friendly service and atmosphere was quite. I loved it was upstairs away from everything. The only thing I wasn't disappointed in is that they ran out of dessert. Ill just have to go back again 👍

The Swallowed Anchor is an amazing restaurant, customer service is amazing as well. The food is done with so much passion from Big Chef Jonathan!!! The experience is super amazing you will never regret, because it's family atmosphere filled with loved. I highly recommend visiting the restaurant

Felt very welcomed even my own. I sat on the balcony and enjoyed the atmosphere from inside the place- cool music, dark wood neat and clean and with an air of an old fashioned pub restaurant. The manager was very considerate and helpful that I was cold and wanted to move to a warmer seat under a heater which he was happy to try on for me. The food was superb, absolutely 😄 the mussels and the wild mushrooms with beurre noisette were divine. A great experience 😁🌟⭐

I attended this restaurant with some work colleagues the other day with the expectation of just another wollongong restaurant.
I was wrong.
We walked in to a very clean and welcoming establishment that reminds of family restaurants in Europe. We were served by a young girl with such a warm and beautiful smile.
We had the banquet menu and must I say the level of skill and passion put into the food was out of this world.
The quality of ingredients is nowhere to be found but at this restaurant. So many beautiful fresh flavours, the integration of modern concepts and a new u that caters to all needs. WOW. This venue needs more recognition and the chef deserves an award for his talents.
The service is classic old school hospitality.
We cannot thank you enough swallowed anchor team. We will recommend you to everyone we know. We already are organising our next visit.

Great food, especially the lemon salted squid. To die for!!!

Had our work Christmas Party here last night and although there were other large parties enjoying the venue, the service was excellent. The food was just delicious and generous. The venue very comfortable and music not too overpowering. I have dietary requirements and although we had advised the Chef at the time if our booking, the Chef went to so much trouble to ensure my food was also delicious and generous. Thank you for a great night. Highly recommend.

Great food, great atmosphere and service!
The burger was so juicy, the sambousek was full of flavour and the salt and pepper squid was just chefs kiss.
10/10 would recommend to everyone.
Will be coming again!

Awesome night!!! The newest additions to the menu are absolutely the best. Can’t wait to see what else is in store. Attentive service, great food and felt like family. Awesome food, great locally sourced produce and drinks, great service and great location. Chef is entirely customer focussed and present in the restaurant.

Loved the Tapas menu, lots to choose from and the food was delicious. The wine list and drinks menu had something for everyone so our group was happy. I felt the service from staff was fantastic, they were efficient, extremely friendly and worked well to deliver fantastic customer service. Our group was impressed and all of us will return.

Went here for dinner with my husband last Friday night. Really enjoyed the tapas and liked that the tapas options extended beyond the usual range into some novel options. The decor was nice and staff friendly. We were not overly impressed with the spritzer cocktails but taste is subjective. Would happily dine here again.

We came to the Swallowed Anchor on a Tuesday night and had the banquet menu. The food was really tasty and the banquet menu had the perfect amount of food. Each dish came out just as we finished the last and was a nicely sized portion. The staff member was attentive and helpful - nothing was a hassle and we felt really comfortable to sit, chat and eat at a leisurely pace. Would definitely recommend.
