Honestly a great work of art. Anyway, I recently revisited my old Clash of Clans account, only to discover that my base remained unchanged. This was quite disheartening, especially since I'm a rushed TH13. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could provide some valuable guidance on attacking strategies for war days and similar scenarios.

Churches reportedly have steeples to draw your gaze upwards to the heavens and fill you with a sense of spiritual wonderment. This palm tree is here for the same reason. It’s to remind visitors to the ‘gong that their town or city will never compare

Greatest piece of art ever produced in Australian history. Up there with the greats and deserved an Australian equivalent of the Louvre built around it.

This is the greatest piece of art should have the Louvre relocated and built around it, the supple curve of the stem, the way the light refracts off the beautiful leaves, the way the strap grips onto the arm and the pole, showing how neo-liberalism can create a beautiful, strong and yellow partnership between Nature and The Modern World, Nietzsche be dammed. Whoever created this piece shall be immortalised up there with and above minds such as da Vinci and Monet. People may claim it is trash, or pointless or disgusting, but was it not Van Gough who was ridiculed and failed to sell a single painting before death.

I don’t understand why everyone’s giving this a one star. It was exactly as advertised. They said there would be a tree on a pole and there indeed was, we came down from Sydney to see this spectacle and we’re not disappointed. Got exactly what we came for 5/5.

It's a palm tree up a Pole. Absolutely glorious.
Best thing I've seen in my life!

Palm tree on a pole what are the odds? This is just one amazing feat of engineering the people of Wollongong are capable of. I wish I could say the same for the one lying down that one can go die!!

Unlike many, I quite like the mall's palm trees artwork (it's not just the one up the pole). It calls to other palms in the neighbourhood, is visually striking and irreverent, and bold.
That said, I also support efforts to energize the whole of the Crown Street mall, and it's a lot to ask of just some public art, so hopefully this publicity campaign will inject some greater attention to the centre of the town.

I love the way the palm up the pole has everyone in Wollongong talking. Love it or hate it, the sign of successful art can often be controversy. Better to be spoken about and argued about than a pretty piece of nothing art that is completely ignored!! Keep the palm up the pole and also increase seating for eateries in the mall. Then the patrons will have something to talk about!!

Something about this palm tree really gets the Misso goin.

We were there for eat street and when she cast eyes upon this Phallic Plinth of a Palm Tree, she only had one thing on her mind.

This Palm has gotten me laid more times than my own Palms.

I say we leave the tree, Wollongong, let's leave the roots where they belong, on Crown Street Mall.

It seems like no one remembers what it was like "before the palm tree". Junkies wandering aimlessly through the city looking to score meth. That palm up a pole is like the batman symbol for our less fortunate citizens. "Look to the palm if you want drugs in your palms".

Gotham... I mean Wollongong has seen dark times, the palm has done nothing but spread light.

The palm tree is a symbol of where we are at as city. No one likes the Mall, it is a concept popular in the 80s. The tree needs to go just like the Mall. It’s embarrassing. This beautiful city deserves better. #openthemall

Well what can I say , after visiting every major theme park along the Queensland and NSW coast I can’t be the best thing since the dirty bird at his boy Elroy was right under (or above some would say) my Italian nostrils this whole time. The tree is more than just a tree….it’s a slice of local history. The Lord Mayor Gordon Cadbury should be proud of this incredible attraction that will in time rival the likes of The Mona Lisa and Funnel Webb waterslide of Jamberoo (where you control the action). Wollongong get down and admire your icon because god only knows when those jealous Novacastrians will come and try burn it down again.

Truly a delight to behold. Every city needs a ridiculous thing. Perth has a plastic cactus, Sydney has Bondi. Wollongong has the Tree on a pole

Nothing screams Wollongong like a visit to the ol' palm tree up a pole.
The whole family will get a kick out of this attraction. Get there early and make a day of it!

Not sure when we had the last hurricane in Wollongong..... Can't believe how this palm tree became uprooted, and tangled up in an orange strap ALL the way up there!!! What are the chances?!?!

Honestly, it's a 10/10 tree, I love it. Every single person that sees it starts a conversation about it. I just wish there were more well executed artistic works around.

It's very weird to hang up a palm tree that high, but it seems that everyone loves it. Especially after surviving a fire a couple of years ago.

I'm just a regular tincan “konecta dotz”
