Wollongong Head Lighthouse Rockpool

Beautiful place to sit and relax and enjoy the views, we bought fish and chips and had a picnic, then a walk on the beach,so good.

Love this place. So beautiful. So fresh and words beyond expression. You will just feel refreshed once you are there. 360 view of scenery facing the ocean, wharf, beach, and the town. The ocean view is beyond explanation as the viewpoint is situated on the top, so the way you see the ocean and beach is spectacular. The rocks, poils, cliffs, and everything look mesmerising.

Great views and very windy

Very nice place to visit. Well maintained and amazing view of ocean. The sound produced by wave while hitting the rocks takes away our stress!

Best rock pool I have seen. It’s like large aquariums one next to another.

Tucked under the Flagstaff Point Lighthouse, down a flight of roughly hewn steps cut directly into the cliff-face, you will find a small but delightful rock pool. With minimal use of some concrete aggregate in places, this mostly natural ocean pool has the clearest, cleanest water of any we’ve ever swum in. The crystalline transparency is astounding, allowing you to clearly see the many species of small fish that live here without the need for goggles.

Parking is free and plentiful around the lighthouse, just look south towards City Beach and you’ll notice a small sign near the steep and irregular stairs that lead you to this very special spot.
