Japanese Bento house

This is a hidden gem in Wollongong. Have had bibimbap, spicy beef soup, sushi rolls and silken Tofu soup a few times here. The flavour has been consistently authentic and delicious. Nice and busy vibe, not only the staff's but also customers are friendly here, which makes the dining experience more pleasant and fun. Thank you for a wonderful meal every time we visit!

Had some sushi rolls, salmon nigiri and some salad for takeaway on Friday late lunch from this little bento house. They were fresh, crunch and delicious. Especially, their pancakes and sauteed potato salad were sensational. Their prices are very reasonable! Would definitely try again!

What a nice and kind owner Bento has!!! So impressed with his generosity and caring heart for my very late lunch. I stepped in the house at around 4pm but they were warmly greeting me and kindly made me my takeaway orders. I will definitely come back and would love to support their business! All dishes were yum and price were more than reasonable! Must try place!

One of the best places to eat in Wollongong guaranteed! Japanese Bento House is located just across the street from Gelatissimo - unassuming at first, the couple who run the small store are very friendly and the food is delicious. It is one of the only places in Wollongong that I have eaten and come back time and time again. If you dine in, you get appetisers that are very addictive - potato and vegetarian pancake. All my friends are obsessed with this casual dining space, although it is small for a group larger than 6 people, Bento House has a variety of options for any picky eater. The sushi here is also very good. I got the Kimchi Hotpot with Rice, and it is just the right amount of spicy and sweet, and the thinly sliced pork is delicious. I highly recommended trying the Stir Fry Noodles, Bibimbap and Chicken Katsu Curry or Chicken Katsu Don here. We will be back for sure!

Great vegan dumplings. Vegan sushi rolls are quite dry. Would love to try more vegan options next time, hopefully the owner will consider expanding their menu! 💚

My favourite hot stone bibimbap in town. A hole in the wall, unpretentious little eatery. Open for weekday lunches only.

Best place for Japanese. The owners are so lovely and welcoming! Fresh ingredients, great value, tasty rolls. The potato dish has a delicious sauce. Always enjoy going here!

This place has outstanding food that has succeeded expectations entirely. We ordered the kimchi hotpot and also the bibimbap, which tasted sooo good, one of the best tasting authentic Korean and Japanese restaurants！would highly recommend to anyone. Also the owners are super lovely, happy to come

Cosy little Sushi place. One of my favourites. Have been going there for years. You get a great serving of side dishes with the chosen Sushi from the menu.

Chicken curry is the best meal for me in this shop. I recommend anyone to pour rice in curry soup. Stir it up and then eat it. It’s fantastic.

Ate here for the first time today and was very impressed, the best Japanese food I’ve had in Wollongong. The salmon was very fresh and the pancakes and potato entrees were very tasty! The food was affordable and the staff were some of the friendliest in all of Wollongong. Overall, a great experience and great atmosphere. Would highly recommend stopping in if you get the chance. Will definitely be going back.

Korean and Japanese food here is very very good much better than most restaurants in Sydney. Had the hot stone pot bibimbap, kimchi hotpot soup and salmon avocado roll. Side dishes were really good aswell. Would recommend if you want delicious authentic Korean and Japanese dishes. 👌🏻

My partner and I love this Bento house!
It's very unassuming from the outside, but the food is so fresh and delicious! Great price and lovely staff. We have tried the sushi, ramen, savoury pancake (must have) and can't stop coming back, we've been 4 times now and couldn't think of a better place for a delicious Japanese lunch 😄

Great food and fantastic staff. Authentic Korean food and really well priced. Would recommend for lunch or dinner. Meals were a good size.
Happily recommend the dolsot bimimpap and the kimchi jigae.

Best Japanese in Wollongong! Owners are always happy and friendly. Restaurant is always clean. Food is SUPER fresh & tasty. Fresh Salmon is amazing, and Tuna Kimchi is delicious! I look forward to every opportunity to visit or takeaway which is so quick! Love these guys.
