Darbar Indian Restaurant

My experience at Darbar Canberra was exceptional. The quality of the food, atmosphere and service met the highest standards and am definitely planning on visiting again. Even though the time waited for the food to arrive was short, there was absolutely no compromise in taste, the Apollo fish and chicken biriyani stood out to me the most. Overall, I can confidently say Darbar was the best experience in terms of Indian restaurants throughout Canberra.

Amazing, fantastic food. Being vegetarian I tried malai kofta, daal makhni and bhindi with garlic naan and paratha ! Food was very tasty, quantity was also sufficient. We were a group of 11 and my friends really liked non veg dishes- chicken chatpat, goat curry paratha and dum biryani.. restaurant has got good seating capacity. I would want to come again and recommend it to my friends and travelers !
Staff was courteous and food was served hot.

Had an absolutely delicious dine-in meal. The chicken dosa was crispy and the filling so tasty, with interesting condiments to keep each bite different and spicy. But the lamb chops were the hero of the meal. Tender with an amazingly flavourful marinade and delicious minty sauce.

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent portion size for the price!! Lovely place to eat, we will be back (already booked in for another dinner!) 😍😍😍 oh and the Keema Dosa is AMAZING!! If you’ve never tried Dosa it is a must! There is also masala dosa which I think is vegetarian 😊

We ordered a catering for more 100 people and the staff were very polite were on time even though we lived 2 hours away the food was delicious. Highly recommended

Absolutely loved this place. The food is amazing, the staff friendly and the service super quick. They have their own little twists to most of the dishes which make them even better tasting. The Hyderabadi Dum Biryani is a must try.
Will surely come and eat here again whenever we visit Canberra next.

If you're looking for a good Indian meal this is the place to go in Canberra. There is also a large choice of meals for vegetarians and vegans and they are all delicious.
The inside of the restaurant is spacious, well decorated and it is very rarely crowded. The plating here is also nice and adds an extra touch to the experience.
Having tried most of the menu I can say the food is magnificent and at a reasonable price, around $19 for most mains.

It was amazing food arranged by Darbar. We enjoyed yummy north Indian and South Indian preparations. It was amazing to enjoy rasmalai in Australia. Thanks to the team of Darbar for such experience and taste.

The chicken dum biryani is exactly like our classic Hyderabadi Biryani. After tasting the biryani, we would like to request Darbar to start Mandi too! 😃

We organised a community event at the restaurant. The owner, Mr.Shiva, puts personal effort into menu planning and details of set up as buffet style for the event. The food was amazing, hot, freshly cooked and refilled as and when required. Highly recommended the biryani, and the new addition to the starters menu - crispy babycorn. Best things is they also have a lot of vegetarian options

We loved everything about this restaurant..Hospitable hosts, delicious food and the service is unmatched. From the starters to deserts the quality and the taste is outstanding. Everything we tasted so far - Melted in our mouths. Highly recommend!!!

A large group of us went here for a surprise party and had a blast. The food was delicious, the waiting staff were very friendly and very accommodating of our many requests. They let us play our music and dance. It was a fabulous night. Thank you Shiv ji and team 🙏

One of the best place for Indian food I have visited in Australia. In the morning there was eggplant curry which was made exactly the way it is done back in India. The lamon flavor to the curry added beautifully. Then there was chat which was perfect with excellent blend of Yoghurt. The rest of the items went very well with these two matching in spice and with perfect contrast. In the evening we had Medu Wada made beautifully with curry and chutni. The rest of the menu matched perfectly..again the taste was very balanced the the spices were just right. I would rate this food as the best Indian food I ate in Australia.
