Had lunch and ordered the cheeseburger and fries. The food tasted great and you could tell that all the ingredients were fresh. Staff was very friendly and food was prepared quickly. Defintely recommend

A fantastic brunch spot featuring excellent coffee, muffins, and a diverse selection of base dishes with a variety of extras. I chose poached eggs on toast with bacon, and the thick-cut bacon was delicious. The service is friendly and highly efficient.

Ben looked after us and he was awesome. Very attentive. We had the French onion soup it was yummy 😋.

We were looking for breakfast in South Melbourne north on the highway home.
Found This place in the south Melbourne markets.
The staff on arrival were polite and welcoming showing us straight to our table. Took orders for coffee straight away giving us time to view the menu.
We ordered the Pea Fritter & egg and the poached eggs with avocado and thick cut bacon 🥓
Both were generous servings and absolutely delicious.
The tables and venue were very clean even considering how busy it was.

This will be a regular for a South Melbourne breakfast

The sticky chai was a surprising delight. We had the pea & halloumi fritters with mushroom side! Yum!
The hotcakes were also delicious. Quality food.

I thought I'd give them a 5-star. Love the vibe here and the overall decor. Bright and airy, very casual and makes me feel relax. Service is prompt, the waitress is cool and the food is great. The coffee is from Toby estate and for those who are in for a quick bite, they have plenty of takeaway pastries to choose from. Definitely recommend you to come here for a coffee or brunch!

Planning to spend a sunny weekend in Melbourne CBD? The best place to start your day is with delicious brunch at Proper and Son. Located at the corner of South Melbourne Market, its an amazing place. The brunch here was delicious and so was their mocha. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is decent parking space in the nearby lanes or you can take tram 96.

The good thing about this cafe is because it has a sophisticated vibe and is right inside the South Melbourne Market. I had the prosciutto salad and it was citrusy, fresh and delicious. I really like the way they serve tap water, with mint and cucumber. It makes it super aromatic.

The location was fabulous; the ambiance is very welcoming; the food is Top of the World; but the top it all off UMA makes the experience worth the 5 star. A surprised find and in a very positive way! The breakfast set and coffee that we had ordered was really good! The portion was generous for the price, and even when we are seated in the “general public” area, they provided table service.

Usually I'm a regular for breakfast on the weekend. Their scrambled eggs are the best I've had EVER!!

Today went in for lunch and grabbed their chicken roll. It was sensational!! Well seasoned and so moist. The mustard on the side gave it that little kick that pushed it up to awesome.

What a great place for a quick meal! You get there by entering the food hall from the market. They have table service. Are super friendly and offer a lot of options for food.
If you’re on the Keto diet, they have a great Avocado salad, will bring cream for your coffee (which is difficult in Australia), and you can have a nice grilled halloumi cheese side. I strongly recommend this awesome place!!!

Always visit Eugene and the team for a decent lunch. My favourites include the rolls, hotcakes and salmon squeak. The coffee is great and the managers keep the place running smoothly. Highly recommended for a clean lunch.

Yes! This is THE perfect brunch destination. They make a mean dirty chai; filling brekkie burgs; service with a smile. This place can get busy but the wait is worth it.
