Long Chim Sydney

This was my best meal on a 3-week vacation in Australia and New Zealand! We had the $99 tasting menu, which was great value.

The duck in red curry and coconut ice-cream with macadamia brittle were amazing! The chicken wings looked rather ordinary but tasted really good. I only wish they brought back the green curry, which I’ve tried at their Singapore outlet before it closed, and it was the best green curry I’ve ever had!

Service was excellent; the servers went out of their way to understand our dietary restrictions and accommodate us.

The food and more so the fantastic explanation the waiter, Jimmy was first class. Jimmy offered great suggestions not only on the different selections of dishes but also how they're best enjoyed. Well done to an outstanding young man, truly great service, so much so, I tipped him and Australia is not known for tipping.
All in all, an excellent dining experience in Sydney.
If you value service, value and quality food, Long Chim is outstanding.

High-end Thai cuisine in Sydney! The food was very authentic, tasty and the portions were just right. Our waitress was excellent and the service was very attentive and efficient. There are very good table options, with long tables for large groups or intimate settings for a romantic or more reserved dinner setting.

What a beautiful traditional Thai restaurant, atmosphere are amazing, hosts and staffs always put a smiley face, especially Vivi she gave us really good recommendations about the foods and drinks. Foods are quite pricey but I’m so happy to paid for what I’m enjoyed for, the foods, the staffs, the drinks, the atmosphere and the desserts of course. I personally love the Thai milk tea ice cream simply the best.

Miang Kham is a must have, very authentic Thai flavors and absolutely delicious. Coconut ice cream, just the perfect amount of sea salt flavors, and the palm sugar rice topping will really open your eyes. Cozy and lovely place. Attentive staff, 100% recommended.

Great food and service ! We arrived an hour late due to our mistake of thinking the reservation was later. They were able to find us a spot anyway and we had a lovely Japanese waiter (don’t know his name unfortunately) he was great and so friendly with dietary restriction, thanks again !! We liked all our food the shrimp appetiser was so flavourful, the curry was nice and so tender chicken but our absolute favourite was the barramundi with mango 10/10! Ended our diner with a lovely coconut ice cream. Great place and would highly recommend ! Thanks again for a great evening !

Went here for date night, and had an absolutely delicious dinner with outstanding service. Wait staff were on top of their game, pointing out info about the dishes and were super attentive.

We had whitebait and prawn rolls for entree, red duck curry and pad thai + prawns for main.
Sticky coconut rice for desert.

When I booked Long Chim, I had no idea this was one of David Thompson's restaurants. I had previously dined at Nahm in Bangkok which I rate as the best Thai meal I've ever had. Long Chim is reminiscent of Nahm albeit a slightly simpler style. Every course we had was delicious, presented superbly, and authentic. I was particularly glad that the levels of chilli heat hadn't been adjusted for the western palate. Delicious meal, attentive wait staff and timing of delivery of the meal made for an enjoyable and memorable experience. Faultless!

DELICIOUS. Went here for a a birthday dinner and it was amazing. Fantastic service, really friendly and helpful. We had the signature set menu $105pp. Plenty of food and a great variety. Particular favourites were the Miang Kham, the fish cakes, the barramundi and lemongrass salad, the Chinese broccoli, the sweet and sour crispy pork, the banana roti, and the coconut icecream. Highly recommend for a fancy casual dinner or a special event.

Long Chim was such an incredible Thai meal! The perfect combination of traditional and fresh ingredients with some modern twists.

I was so surprised and excited that they allow solo diners to have the banquet menu, very rare to find.

I've read mixed reviews in recent days so my expectations were suitably tempered. Food critics have been very complimentary of Long Chim, whereas the general public seemed to have a more varied experience.

For me, Long Chim delivered in spades - a beautifully thought through set menu showcasing the depth and breath of Thai flavours with quick and efficient service and cocktails which perfectly compliment the food. The highlights for me were the fried ling and the spicy cashews, although everything impressed.

Service was very fast - perhaps too fast for the amount of food in the set menu; my only criticism of Long Chim is that the set menu service could be slowed down to allow diners to enjoy and settle between courses.

$$$$, and worth it. Bookings recommended.

Dining at Long Chim was a pleasant experience. Food was delicious and service was attentive. Some of the dishes are quite pricy compared to if you were to take a wander down to Haymarket, but alas that is the cost of good produce and service in Sydney these days. Nonetheless, I would recommend it.

Some of the best Thai food in Sydney - been here several times and never disappointed. Authentic flavours and spice - not the dumbed down Thai that you often get. It is not cheap but you get quality. They have some great mid-week deals like Curry nights - set price and great value.

Food and service was on point! Recommend Crab Fried rice and the Barramundi. Chefs kiss!
To polish the night, Coconut ice cream or the Coffee ice cream ... AMAZING!

Everything was really nice. I loved how the menu was unique from every other Thai restaurant which allowed my family and I to try different things. The atmosphere is very nice and the service is fantastic. Definitely recommend the Miang Kham. I wouldn't usually go for something like that but one of the waitresses suggested it and I am so glad she did. Will hopefully return soon!!
