Franky’s Dumplings & Noodles

The beef noodles were amazing, nice depth to the broth, beef was tender and well cooked. Delicious home style cooking.
Dumplings were also tasty (meat ones we loved, veggie filling was soggy and didn't bind together). Didn't love the shallot pancake too.
Mountain tea was very nice. Overall we enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

I felt like dumplings whilst staying in Newcastle and my friend tempted me with an ‘experience’ at Franky’s. It definitely lived up to those expectations. I’m not sure if it was the communal effort of the customers attempting to pull the cover over the outdoor area to avoid the rain, the live jazz or the live jazz and the staff randomly join in and start singing but we had a lot of fun. BYO and cash only - food was okay but overall, we had an excellent night

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Great atmosphere, it’s super fun there while still being calm enough for a nice dinner. The food was delicious and not overly expensive. I left my glasses there and was leaving before they opened and the owner let me come by and grab them while they were closed!

We had our wedding party here about a month ago and it was an absolute delight. Matt the owner is a beautiful human who really went above and beyond to help make our special night even more wonderful than it already was. The food was delicious, the ambience was perfect and the music provided by Matt and the resident jazz band was a blast. We can't thank Matt enough <3

A must-do Carro experience. The lunch yum cha on Fridays and Saturdays is excellent (there are some great dishes that you couldn't order in the evening), but the best time is to be had from 630pm, feasting on delicious food served by the wonderful wait staff, sitting out in the garden listening to the house band or some local music makers. And you might even get Matt (owner, chef, chief merry-maker) on the mic if you're lucky. We should treasure and support local institutions like this since the community would be a worse place without their existence!

Devastated to hear your closing when I just found you. Such a fab atmosphere and delicious fresh food. Atmosphere, owners and staff are all so wonderful and full of personality. Why is it that all the magic places never last 🥺

Celebrated a birthday a couple of weeks back, and I have thought frequently about this place since. The food was fantastic, but also the customer service was impeccable. Very easy going vibe that feels like you can sink into your seat. The live music adds to the atmosphere, creating a more authentic feel to the place.

The menu was simple and everything on it tasted amazing, the restaurant has a great atmosphere with a beautiful mural, lanterns and plenty of seating for you and your friends. 10/10 would eat again.

Franky’s noodles are incredible. I went last Friday night and had to return the next day. The bone broth hand made noodles are really fresh and taste great. 5 star dumplings too. Vegan options also available.

Ambiance was amazing and enjoyed the music immensely. Food was delicious and cannot recommend the spring rolls enough. The food was simple but flavoursome. We will be going back!

Fresh made noodles, excellent food and great service (our waiter was a crack up). A bottle-o is conveniently located next door (its BYO), and there was a decent live music act too. Already planning to come back.

There always have good bands on there the people and staff are very friendly check it out you'll see for yourself I recommend checking it out

On a cold wet windy day a bowl of hot beef noodle soup at Franky's Lan Zhou Noodles is perfect for the weather. A subtle beef bone broth surrounds noodles, thin slices of tender succulent beef, sliced radish and spring onions. A dash of vinegar or some chilli oil as per your taste and the meal is humming. I also nabbed some dumplings for takeaway. I'm sure they'll be just as good. Warm surrounding, friendly staff, even had live music, and delicious food. A neighbourhood gem.

Came here on a whim with a group of 6 and we're all blown away at how good it was!
Great dumplings and noodles with plenty of vegetarian options.
Incredible vibe out the back with a live band.
The staff were all such great people. Can't wait to come back.

Fantastic service, wonderful food, great vibe. We should have booked a table in the garden though, it is a awesome restaurant. Sitting inside we couldn't hear much of the band.

I went here with my family and it was one of the best nights of my life. I’m a VERY picky eater but the food here was DELICIOUS!!! Honestly this place is amazing!! I’m probably gonna come back again! Also this isn’t like other FANCY restraints this place is humble and amazing!!!
